Live by the Blade...Die by the Blade...

Also joined the club. Switched over from a Pure Aero to a CV 16x19 and have been loving it with gut/poly

Nike Air Zoom Zero (summer 18 release)

I notice after a month or so the sole on my right shoe is starting to turn blue (presumably the Zoom Air cushioning coming through) at the front right tip. I know durability was an issue with TW playtesters but 1 month seems pretty short. I may be needing to buy another pair of shoes in another...

    Solinco Hyper G Prefered Gauge

I did, but I found it was better to hit my spots with a bit more flat pace and less spin which is why I am using the Blade now.

    Solinco Hyper G Prefered Gauge

I would say it has good control, it’s the frame that didn’t for me. 4.0 singles & doubles

    Solinco Hyper G Prefered Gauge

I don’t think it was so much the string for me as it was the open pattern that made it hard to control. The ball would fly if I didn’t put enough spin on it and I couldn’t control my volleys very well.

    The gut/poly thread

Not sure, out here we pretty much only have hard courts.

    The gut/poly thread

I had not used gut/poly in a while since I snapped a gut main after about 6 hours of hitting in a Pure Drive and switched to full poly. Recently got a Blade CV 16x19 and felt that full poly was too muted and stiff for me in that particular frame. Strung it up with Klip Legend 17 with Revolve 17g...

Which racquets are good for tennis elbow.

    Solinco Hyper G Prefered Gauge

Definitely not too harsh, and the tension maintenance was great for the open string pattern. I just switched over to a Blade to get more control. The 17g is still in my PA frames.

    Solinco Hyper G Prefered Gauge

Loved 17g in my Pure Aero. Didn't like it so much in my Blade CV because the frame is so muted already.

Any Petite/Skinny people who play a lot?

Skinny and tall here with twig arms. Currently playing with a Blade CV 16x19 after a long time with the Pure Aero. Been having some GE issues adjusting to the new frame but I’m starting to build up strength to use it and there’s not much pain anymore.

Anyone a user of syn gut mains x poly crosses?

I have... it felt good but the zyex was notching into the poly and creating a locked stringbed. Would have preferred to swap the two around.

The Real Deal or Don't Believe The Hype: Racquet Madness

Same boat for me. I’m still holding onto it thinking that it’s me that’s the problem, but honestly I hit so much better with all my other sticks. I think it just isn’t my type of frame.

    Tourna Black Zone

Nice! Maybe I'll see you around the local courts or at the upcoming Mountain View NTRP tournament :) I've tried TB in 18g and 17g and preferred HyperG just because it's softer and a bit more muted. In the end I can deal with a drop off in spin if I can gain an edge in tension maintenance (hence...

    Tourna Black Zone

Hit with the BHBZ 17 yesterday in my Pure Aero. Have been looking for an alternative to Hyper G 18 lately as I've been chewing through those strings in the open pattern and needed to restring every ~1.5 weeks. Was looking at strings with good tension maintenance (testing Kirschbaum Pro Line II...

    Tourna Black Zone

Had not heard of this string before checking out this thread. Seeing that it’s softer with good tension maintenance and at $80 a reel has made me order a few sets. I love Hyper G in my Pure Aeros but I only get about 2 weeks (3 days/week hitting) before the tension drops off a cliff and I need...

Full Syn gut - actually pretty great

This thread has been great! It motivated me to order 2x OGSM 17g and 2x POSG 17g to experiment with. I played 4 years of HS tennis with synthetic gut so I'm hoping it brings back that familiar feel that allows me to swing confidently. Right now using full poly or poly/synth hybrids it just...

Thanks for the tips and resources! I haven't had any elbow problems since I stopped using the RF97A and took a week off to rest. After practicing a bit last night after some doubles matches I've been able to alter my toss to be higher and more in front which helps a ton with getting my arm...
