Tennis vacation recommendations Xmas/New Years weeks

I'd also give a thumbs up for the Desert Springs at the JW Marriott. The drills are always excellent, the round robin on all surfaces is fun especially if you've never played on grass. Shea and Zack are fun instructors and Jim the director is very knowledgeable. There are lost of other...

    Tankless hot water heaters?

Have used two in homes. They are great and energy efficient, but you need to be aware of the venting requirements (at least here in Calif.) as they require a different exhaust vent. I did have one problem with the first one I had, the house close to the ocean had a vent to the roof, as the hot...

    Wilson Triniti Tennis Ball

I most notice the sound the ball makes, more of a pop. It does not feel heavy rock hard to me, in fact they feel quite light and lively. They do last a good long time, at the end of 6 hours of play , they wore out. I like the environmental friendliness of the ball. Never knew that my old cans...

    Volleyball-like serve for tennis

I watched him serve last week in the Futures tourney...he's about 6'-2+ and with the jump and arm extension+racquet ( he has a high toss) he must be contacting the ball at about 9'-10' in the air and the bounce off the receivers court is up about head level of most receivers ...most had a tough...

    Recovering from TFCC (wrist pain)

Had the same injury, diagnosed by a hand specialist, after two months of not playing finally got a cortisone shot...3 more weeks off and now the pain is gone. I don't like to have to resort to cortisone, but in my case it worked.

    Staying in Sydney and Melbourne

I stayed for 2 weeks in Sydney about 4 years ago...they have apartment hotels that were very reasonable ( also in Melbourne)...especially if you're travelling with family, as there are kitchens in the units and lots of space. Try googling "apartment hotels sydney" and you'll get several...

    For a beginner...

The twisting may be more due to being a beginner and not hitting the ball squarely yet. If string movement is the issue try a soft poly string..maybe something like Kirschbaum Super Smash ( also cost effective).
