Racquet most similar to Andy Murrays?

So what would you say I do? What frame plus what amount of lead or silicone?

Racquet most similar to Andy Murrays?

Okay makes sense. I will probably just aim to get it pretty darn close then, weight wise.

Racquet most similar to Andy Murrays?

Thanks that helps a lot actually! So then my question will be, if I copy the lead tape the way it is in the video, then add the remaining weight in silicone, then i should be good?

Racquet most similar to Andy Murrays?

Hey all, I am a huge Murray fan and I just wanted to start a discussion on how to build a racquet most similar to Murrays. We all know he uses the pt57a, but that is just out of the budget for me and most tennis enthusiasts. So, what frame would you recommend? The prestige pro, radical pro...

How perspective can change whether a ball looks in or out.

No point in overthinking it. We all get calls wrong from time to time. I try to do my best on the serves since those come so fast you have to be watching closely. The amount of times I see guys return serves that are clearly out is way too often. Generally we play everything as in unless it is...

Is coaching better in Europe for footwork and building point patterns?

I think it is mixture of many factors. Coaching isn't the whole reason why no American men have rose to the top recently, I think popularity does play a part as tennis has declined and stagnated in popularity in America since the 80s while it has exploded in other areas of the world...

Second serve breaks down under pressure

I do not have anything specific on hand but if you look up growth mindset vs fixed mindset there are many articles on it, and there is a TED Talk as well. Thats what helped me most when I was having confidence issues and tightness under pressure.

Second serve breaks down under pressure

Start reading about the growth mindset and apply it to tennis. Basically it is focusing on improving and learning rather then results. So for your 2nd serve, instead of focusing on the result of getting it in, focus on hitting it to the best of your abilities and don't overthink it. It has...

    Is tennis gaining popularity?

Pickleball is becoming more popular than tennis in certain areas and may become bigger then tennis overall, but tennis is not going anywhere. That is the least of my worries. I think tennis will stay how it is for a long time, maybe a few declines or gains in popularity, but overall we have our...

    Is tennis gaining popularity?

I do play golf, and indeed it is a hard sport. I also play soccer as well. I do not have the same passion for golf as I do for tennis and soccer though. Golf is more of a hobby and a social thing for me, so I have no experience of playing at a high level.

    Is tennis gaining popularity?

Great use of words there, those are my thoughts exactly. Tennis is still very niche because it is unlike the mainstream sports. It takes a lot of persistence and humility to attain a good level of skill in tennis, like any other sport, but with tennis an existing athlete can not pick up a...

    Is tennis gaining popularity?

I like having more competition, but I think not. It is about the same just more people are casually playing because of Rona.

Any tips to help my serve become faster?

To each their own I wish you the best with your serve endeavors! If you have placement already then fair enough, I hope you get that power you want. Watch some different serves and groove it into yours when you train. Focus on the trophy position and the path of the racquet, and compare it to...

Any tips to help my serve become faster?

I would advise a higher toss and getting in a better trophy position, also known as coiling. And as a side note, while less flashy, but arguably more important, I would focus more on placement of the serve rather than power. A serve you can place and hit flat, slice, or kick, is much more...

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

Being able to deal with unorthodox styles of play immensely proves your tennis capabilities. Beating pushers, soft ballers, spin doctors, and low ballers is a defining achievement. Yeah many of us (me included) look great when we are getting good topspin balls at a nice height with pace in our...

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

I totally understand my dude. I'm just starting a discussion and its pretty entertaining to share our stories imo, but I hope you enjoy your tennis! :)

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

Yeah right now I don't have many options of people to play sets against which is why I've been hitting with him but in a few months I will. At the moment I don't play tournaments but I will be hopefully next year once Covid is more under control (I hope!). Sad thing is those players usually do...

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

I feel like this should be common courtesy but it is not. I am not the best player and I have hit with some really high skill guys, and when that occurs I just keep the ball in and keep the rally going to work on handling the pace. Because just going for broke against them and missing is wasting...

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

I have some guys that I only hit and train with, since when we had played sets its not a close match because either they bagel me or I bagel them. But yeah generally I try to avoid the guys I don't like either but sadly the guy I am talking about in my post is a good match for me and helps me...

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

I never understood why guys do that. I have had to deal with that too and I just tell them I want to work on consistency and my strokes.. if they oblige then cool, if not, I am hitting with someone else next time.

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

Hahaha yeah man that's an annoying one too! There are just some players that are jerks.. not the mental warfare type.. I don't mind that and I don't mind pushers.. just the guys that are being grade A jerks really get to me. We are all passionate about tennis, but there is a fine line between...

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

Oh the overhead ones can be annoying! I had a guy I would play from high school who would purposely feed it as high as he could into the sun... I was determined to smash them to prove a point... but my eyes were watering!

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

I sometimes have trouble with the feeds to the net player so if I truly can't feed it then I will just volley with him/her back and forth so we both work on volleys

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

I am very lucky to not have had that happen, but man that would anger me. The quitter mentality is the worst, especially the "too tired" excuse. Obviously if the guys having a heat stroke or is actually injured then that is another thing.

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

Oh yeah the lazy hitter... I know what you mean man. That can get on my nerves too. The thing they don't get is by trying to hit those balls they will inevitably improve their footwork. If I notice that when warming up they are getting the drop shot and lob treatment during the match lol!

Who is your least favorite type of hitting partner or set partner?

There are many different types of players we all meet on our tennis escapades. I am curious to hear the types of characters you all loath the most. For me, it has to be the ones that overestimate their skill - I used to be guilty of this one and I wasn't even aware of it. But basically, the type...

    Fitness requirements: Tennis vs. Soccer?

I agree to disagree. I think it is disrespectful to say soccet players arent as fit as tennis players, looking at the big four or certain tennis players, yes they are fit, maybe fitter than some soccer pros, but come on, just look at the tennis players compared to soccer players you can tell...

    Fitness requirements: Tennis vs. Soccer?

Have you even played soccer at a high level? Because if not then your argument is invalid. Dont get me wrong, I love tennis and I will defend the sport too, but there shouldnt even be a debate over it requring more fitness than soccer. Look at all professional soccer players, they are all under...

Some people underestimate topspin and think pro players hit flat

Dude I remember hitting with a college player, I thought his shots looked flat until he hit to me and they jumped right in to me very heavy heavy spin

    Backhand slice help

I also found that it was harder because I hit an open stance backhand so the footwork was more challenging for me to get used to on a closed stance slice
