    Device to check strings tension

I have just ordered a Tourna RSTM, tomorrow it should be here.

The weight was the same. All the differences came from the stiffness one. The older one felt softer, the SW somewhat lower but just because it was more flexible.

Me too, it was too soft. I sold it, then I purchased an used one one year later, and it was OK. Now it is my favorite reacquet. As for Red and Lime power, I understand that customization changes their behaviour, even if I worked similarly on both, adding a leather grip and taking the balance at...

    Device to check strings tension

It seems that my racquets arrive from my stringer with too different tensions. I would like to check my strings tension. Which device could I use to check them? No phone apps please. I know about Tourna Racquet String Tension Meter and Gamma STT. Which one is better? Anything else?

Just tonight I have used both my K7Red and my K7Lime. The Red is 10 grams lighter, balance 320 vs the 310 of the Lime. Both customized in different ways. The Red has a higher spin potential, it is softer, less precise and powerful than the Lime. Bigger sweet spot, less control. The Red is my...

    Weight of your preferred racket?

330-339, but two of my racquets are 345 gms strung. I play flat, with just a little spin in my forehand when necessary, and have a sliced backhand.

It does not resemble to any of those, it has a very special feeling. Less powerful than the TCs and more comfortable. The ball seems to stay on the strings longer, even if the tension is the same.

Last year I added some lead to my TC95 16x19, but I guess I exaggerated. Too powerful and not enough maneuvrable. I eliminated all of it. Inspired by your post, last week I added just 2 grams at 3 and 9. I am enthusiast, I never played so well with that racquet. I think that the impressione of...

First I went back to the TC95 16x19, then to the K7Red. Occasionally I buy other racquets :giggle: but I regularly use only those two ones.

Same for me, I abandoned the TC97 18x20 a long time ago. I do not regret my decision. Maybe I am not a 18x20 guy.

Is there a clay player from the 1970s, 1980s, or 1990s that could have beaten Nadal at Roland Garros?

Even if we cannot prove anything about different eras matches, we can get an idea of the effect of a different technology by considering spaghetti stringing. Vilas, a Nadal before Nadal, lost to Nastase after winning 53 matches in a row. He said he lost to a racquet, not to a player. That...

Head Pro Tour 2.0 - Ask Us All Your Questions! (podcast now here!)

I do not know how to describe it, sorry. I can say the K7red is the most confortable Angell I used, and it has a fantastic feeling. Better than its sibling K7lime, even if the lime seems to be more competitive.

Twaron, also called Aramid, is present in Angell K7, too.

    Impulse buying

Me two. 8-B After hurting myself, a calf forced me to stop a couple months, I have started using Nike Prestiges and I feel so sure not hurt me again that I need a second pair to feel safe. Nothing rational, but I just ordered another pair.

The one meaningful RA is the unstrung one, because one can put stiffer or softer strings at different tensions.

Best multi for a poly player

I feel that Gosen string is better than Velocity for my game and arm sensibility. It seems more spin-friendly, even if I am not much of a topspin player. However I slice alot and backspin is my cup of tea. AK Control is more rigid, I played just once and did not like it. It could be even more...

Best multi for a poly player

I have been playing nat gut for a while, but it was definitely too sensitive to humidity and maybe even heat. Even during the same session it changed its behaviour. In winter I play indoors with a heating air flow that pushes a lot of humidity on the court. I cannot change my gamestyle...

Several months ago I bought a used TC95 18x20, but after an initial enthusiasm I stopped using it, going back to K7 red or TC95 16x19. Anyway from time to time I tried to use it again, without much success. Then two weeks ago I felt it natural in my hand, and played well with it. The last time I...

Best multi for a poly player

I have been using Head Velocity for a while, but stopped when I discovered Gosen AK PRO CX. I think it is not exactly a multi, but I think it provides what Injured Again is looking for.

Could it be for its lower power level, that makes you push more in order to get the same pace as with the TC racquets? After a while your elbow might feel tired.

I could have written that myself! I keep changing racquets, just for the fun of trying them and maybe hope to play better, but I keep going back to my beloved and now pretty used TC95 63 RA. At present I am starting my tennis hours with my K7 red, just to warm up without risk of elbow pains...

One handed backhand players, favorite/best rackets?

I think the question should be split into two distinct ones. Which racquet is good for a OHBH backspin and which one for topspin. My best racquet for backspin was the Head Speed Pro first version, the 335 grams 16x19. As for topspin, even if I am not good at that, I would never use that Speed...
