Prestige of players beat in Slam finals/semi

He only lost once to Murray

2019 has already been epic :)

Kind of Dejavu ... I remember you or someone else bumping this guys' thread after the WIM 18 and he got so emotional. Not sure what was said in that thread last that resulted in its deletion. Some people dont learn.

2019 AO Women's Final: [4] Naomi Osaka vs. [8] Petra Kvitova

The Eurosport commentary is too biased in favour of Kvitova. Sucks bad

Nadal's draw at the 2019 AO = no top 20 opponents until the final

Exactly .. You beat who is in front of you. But then there are some diaper clad keyboard warriors brethren that you have, like below, who will keep giving some rat ***. Not even realizing that Gonzalez was a 10th seed who didn't let Rafa win 10 games in the QF while Baghdatis knocked off 3 Top...

    Most impressive Finals run: Borg/Federer/Nadal/Lendl

When you were in school/college/university did you by any chance had the habit of answering not what was being asked but a different question :-D But jokes aside, Rafa's FO record is out of this world. A sticky post can be made on TTW saying it would never be broken and then see if any current...

Nothing demonstrates Federer's longevity better than...

Something, I don't know what, tells me that you would not have had any chance against Nadal. What about Novak? Would you be letting him win any? :)

The Player that brought YOU the most joy in your lifetime

Roger Federer, even when I compare across all sports I follow(ed). For me he surpassed Tendulkar after 2011; something unimaginable for most Indians.

Rafa's solution to serve dominance: Yay or Nay?

Good. next suggestions should be to have a cap on topspin ... i mean a minimum cap.

    Fact or fiction?

But isn't he saying that Fed would have won in 2012 if for faster courts? Would clayqueen say so? :)

    Murray is an ATG

From your GOATs list, apart from Sampras which other GOAT are you expecting Edberg and Becker to play?
  12. Vish13

    Nothing but respect for Federer

    Make up your mind please
  13. Vish13

    Nothing but respect for Federer

Yes. If Fed had thought like Pete he would have won at least 3 less slams.

    Roger’s defeatist mindset

Sorry .. I mean esp Novak. Let me see if I can edit it :)
  15. Vish13

    Roger’s defeatist mindset

Exactly ... except for some great BH DTL he was contend to slice it out. Not sure what the problem is that is causing him having such low confidence with his BH
  16. Vish13

    Roger’s defeatist mindset

His overall ground game has been non existent. He showed some signs today but nothing which suggests to me that he could do it consistently. I know he played some sublime BH DTLs today, but his overall game on his BH side, to me, was very weak. All this in mind, he will continue to challenge...

    Roger’s defeatist mindset

Are you following the season? He started 17-0 and now is what, some 45-8??? And in between you see who he lost to, esp at WIM and USO. You really think that is TOP 3 stuff. It is his AO win that is still holding him at number 3.
  18. Vish13

    Roger’s defeatist mindset

And another way of looking at that is with the kind of game/form he has displayed since AO, he has no business being number 3 at the moment.

    Peak Federer is overrated

He did take him to 5 in Wim 2014.
  20. Vish13

It has been the first year without slam finals between Big4 since 2005

The famous year 2013 when Federer lost to Stakhovsky and Robredo at the slams. And that remains the only win for Murray against Federer in slams.
  21. Vish13

Is Federer's description of the USO the new normal moving forward?

In my view this is a change that Nadal has brought in his game where he is now willing to come to net more often to end the point rather than prolonging. It was certainly evident at the Wimbledon.
  22. Vish13

As a Federer and Nadal Fan

Completely agree. And thats why no big deal in Nadal winning Wimbledon, especially the 2008 edition
  23. Vish13

    10 Years Ago.... :)

So, to be one of the only "two" guys (valid till at least 2019) to beat Rafa @ FO (where he was a 5 times defending champoin) is nothing to brag about? A match where you don't let Rafa win a set (only occasion) and allow him mere 9 games (which included a run of 4 games in first set) is nothing...

What kind of greatest sportsman of all time award given more than once??

Countries whose greatest athlete is a tennis player

The kind of g forces they withstand, they have to be as fitter (if not more) than athletes from any other sport. Edit: To answer your question, I don't think people doubt that F1 drivers are athletes
