People mocked Zverev for year for never having won a tournament until he finally won at 19 years of age.
The young guys coming up now can do no wrong, by comparison. Shapovalov is hopeless, yet still gets hyped as the next best thing.
The question for Fed fans should be do you want one of the big two to overtake him, or do you want BOTH to match/overtake him?Because if you don't want both, you have to support Rafa. Neither isn't an option.
What most people don't realise is that supporting Federer means supporting Nadal in this match. Even if Nadal reaches 21 slams he still won't be "greater" than Roger in most peoples eyes, because as soon as they look into it beyond just a cursory glance they will see that over half his slams...
I think the ascertion that Nadal and Djokovic are better in their early thirties is juat flat wrong. Federer had to play against prime Novak at aged 34 or so. Novak at 33 is getting dogged about by the likes of Tsitsipas and Carreno, and Nadal is more or less reverted to being a clay courter...
I'm assuming a lot of Novak votes are from Roger fans who want to see him hold the record for a little while longer.
I want Roger to hold the record forever but reality is staring us in the face, theres no escape. Roger and Rafa will end 2020 both on 20.
I'm honestly stunned that the votes are so split.
Its Rafa on Chatrier in a final.
I don't care about Novaks mental edge, or the conditions, or the new balls, or any of that.
Rafa is a endless fighter, and this stage more than any other he has stupendous belief in himself. He will keep...
This has schwartzman all over it. Just the type of match he likes, where he is the firm underdog. Thiem is tired and schwartzman knows how drag out rallies and draw errors. I don't think domjnic js ready for a match like this in such conditionns.
