    Ohio State Tennis

OSU with the ever-so-interesting team this coming season. Initially expecting the loss of Martin Joyce and Hunter Tubert, I thought that OSU would actually be stronger with a strong freshmen class. However, after losing JJ Wolf to the circuit and Alex Kobelt to grad school/transferring but...

Hardest Men's Regions for ITA Kick-off

I expect ASU to give TCU a run for their money. Unpopular opinion, but my own: UCF over Stanford :)

    ITA preseason rankings out

The talent is all there and I think they will. Nakashima, Soderlund, Wiersholm, Lizen, and Ross will be starters in my eyes while there's going to be a dogfight for the last spot. It'll be an interesting year for UVA.

    Ohio State Tennis

Interesting stat that Torpegaard has lost to the eventual champion in the NCAA tournament for each of his 4 years.

    Ohio State Tennis

Heard Hugo Di Feo is not opting to play next year, although he is planning on completing his degree. Considering Torpegaard's dominant play over the past two years, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't either. If they both stayed and the addition of McNally, I was preemptively predicting OSU to...

    2016-2017 Projections

I was under the impression that McNally and Wolf would not be playing until next season. Both are very talented players and would be in the starting lineup.

    2016-2017 Projections

Great post TopDawg, a lot of information that I was unaware of. I'm most excited to see how Texas pans out this year. I initially wrote Baylor off after last year's issues and graduates, but I'll be putting them on my radar as a team to look out for.

    2016-2017 Projections

Good questions SouthernCourts. As a disclaimer, my posts are not necessarily who I think are the top teams, but just an analysis on the teams who finished in the top 16 the past season. There are a couple teams I do not expect to stay on this list. I'm not well-versed with all the ACC teams, but...

    2016-2017 Projections

And here are my relative ranking projections for last year's top 16 with their position change in parenthesis: UVA (0) Wake Forest (+6) TCU (0) UNC (+1) UGA (+2) OSU (-2) Texas (+9) Cal (+1) USC (+3) OU (-4) Florida (-1) Oklahoma State (+1) UCLA (-11) Northwestern (+1) Texas Tech (-4) A&M (-2)...

    2016-2017 Projections

Some general thoughts on the top 16 teams as well as their lineups: Virginia lost Shane and Styslinger, but gain a very strong Soderlund. I don’t see their singles lineup losing any steam, but we’ll see how their doubles lineup changes with the two losses. Soderlund/Kwiatkowski...

    2016-2017 Projections

Last year, I made predictions regarding the top 16 teams going into the season and how I felt they would stack up for the actual season. As I enjoyed making this last year, I thought it would be fun to make a tradition out if it. I'll be breaking this up into multiple posts, but I thought I'd...

ITA national Indoor Individual championships at flushing NY. Who will win ?

Surprised I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but big props to Jeffrey Schorsch and Charlie Emhardt of Valparaiso for making it to the finals (and possibly winning the championships). You almost never hear players from lesser-known tennis programs compete at the top like this.

    Best Forehand in College Tennis?

I feel it's obligatory to mention the Ronnie Schneider forehand. It has a ton of diversity and pop despite coming from a smaller guy.

    NCAA 2015-2016 General Talk

Congratulations to Mackenzie McDonald for a well-deserved tournament win. Would love to see him again for next year, but I'm highly doubtful that he will return.

    NCAA 2015-2016 General Talk

I'm going to have to agree with this. Considering he already has wins against the 2 and 4 seeds (as well a win against Monteiro), nobody can say he doesn't have a chance of winning the entire thing. My only hesitation is that he's had some issues adjusting to the environment. I still don't think...

    Big 12

Don't know if I agree with the fundamental matchup issue, as Montgomery had beaten Alvarez earlier this year as well as before the beatdown last year. Regardless, the Montgomery comeback was impressive. I agree that he is not as sharp as last year, but I'm actually picking him to beat Altamirano...

    NCAA 2015-2016 General Talk

This is very true. I was originally skeptical going into the tournament, as Harris might not be 100% and Axel hasn't quite matched his performances of previous years. Likewise, bumping everybody up a spot due to Harris' absence hasn't made them look the sharpest. However, these adversities were...

    NCAA 2015-2016 General Talk

They did. Very impressed with Oklahoma, they really brought their guns blazing for nationals. It's too soon to say they will win this match (even though the momentum is heavily in their favor), but they are proving themselves to be a serious contender for the title.

    Gator Updates

They certainly have the firepower to do it, but it will be tough. I favor Georgia at 1, 2, and 6, while I'd consider 3-5 to be a tossup, so I think they will need to win the doubles point if they want a chance. Georgia's fanbase is energetic and I'd give their team the edge in a neutral...

Thought this would be sharing for any OSU fans out there: http://tenniskalamazoo.blogspot.nl/2016/02/mcnally-wolf-commit-to-ohio-state-rubin.html These two will not graduate high school until 2017, but I'd expect both of them to be top 10 recruits for that year.

No worries rod99, I was in the same boat. It seems I overlooked that response. It's good to see that they are handling it differently this year even if it's not my cup of tea.

    ITA Indoors

Agree completely. I'm also a fan of regular scoring over the no-ad format, but can at least see the argument for no-ad. However, if the NCAA wants to employ this new format, they should make it a standard in order to legitimize results and rankings. This is a separate discussion than whether or...
