AeroPro Drive Junior 26 stringing pattern

Others have said that you can string 2 piece without enlarging any of the grommets, so will defer to their experience. I had to string a couple of jr racquets recently and while I'm sure they could've been done 2 piece, it wasn't obvious there were sufficient tie off holes. Just take a close...

Oddest, Funniest, or Worst thing you've seen in a USTA match?

So not at USTA match, but I was playing a USTA doubles practice match with my friend. As I pushed off to return a serve I felt like someone had shot me or clubbed me with a baseball bat on my left calf. After getting situated and trying to stand up, I inquired or my friend, "so what do you...

One Cross String Smiling at Me

I'll take a pic and post tonight...curious if it could be a misweave. I would be a whole $1 that it isn't, but I've been wrong, wrong, and badly wrong before. Just ask my wife!

One Cross String Smiling at Me

Hmmm...that sounds pretty plausible. It didn't happen exactly as you speculated, but I do recall that I had the second to the last cross (the one that is smiling at me) clamped for a while as I fiddled with something else. Wonder if that's the cause, if I should just re-tension?

One Cross String Smiling at Me

Apologies (and flame suit on) if this has been discussed before. I recently strung my racquet (Head IG Radical Pro) with a full set of SPPP. I'm pretty meticulous about keeping the cross string straight as I pull(crank), but for some odd reason, one of my cross strings came out and smiled at...

    Stringing Natural Gut Anxiety!

Think I'll definitely try some pre-stretch and string 50/50. I learned the hard way on cinching the knot too tightly with a Ashaway Monogut. On the Monogut, pulled too hard too quickly, snapped the string, took out that little abrasive piece on the clamp, and hit myself on the forehead with...

    Stringing Natural Gut Anxiety!

At what point does your anxiety with stringing natural gut go away? I've done a few gut jobs and I still get anxious about clamping too tight/too loose, cleaning everything, twisting, pulling, kinking, kinking, kinking the string. Ugh...does the anxiety ever go away? This weekend I went thru...

Cyberflash and Big Hitter Silver Confusion

One of the databases I've looked at indicates that the Topspin Cyberflash has a stiffness rating of 240 (1.25) and 258 (1.3) think this was from 2012. However TW in the reviews calls it one of the softest polys they've tested. Also, the same data base lists the following: example a)...

    Volkl Cyclone Thread

Agree with the V-Star. Gosen Polyquest is pretty soft also. Both are great for my arm, but coming to the conclusion that it's a bit too plush for me at the lower tensions. Will raise the tension from the low 40's to high 40's to see if it feels significantly different.

    Tennis Warehouse: Volkl V-Star Playtest

Second Impression So had two more play sessions from the initial impression above. This string is definitely comfortable for my minor TE, but I would definitely string this up tighter...closer to 50 lbs or maybe even higher. Good spin on ground strokes, but can't quite get the same kick...

Parts for Alpha Pioneer DC Plus

Siata94 IS a mensch! Shout out to Siata94! His Alpha Pro base clamps and turntable are now installed on my Alpha Axis - all for just the cost of shipping. Actually I still owe him $.46 :):) Looks like the Pro arm vs the Axis arm has a different mating interface. Anyone know if the Pro...

Entry Level Stringing Machine - Any recommendations?

Newbie Stringer... Earlier this spring I purchased a well used Alpha Axis. Constantly fiddling with it, but appreciate the features that it has to offer. If I had to do it again, I'd get another machine with similar features, but would want some type of spring assisted base clamps. Paid $200...

Best items you found at thrift stores (Goodwill)?

Best Deal Ever! Prince Original Graphite OS in pristine condition. Can't recall offhand, but think it's either circa 1981 or 1986 for $1.99 I still play with it and it comes in at 12.9 oz!

Newbie Stringer too! Just started stringing this summer because I got tired of my wifey breaking her strings so frequently and paying the ~ $30+ each time. Managed to find a very well used Alpha Axis (which needs a lot of upkeep!) and have strung about 20+ racquets so far...about 10 of those...
