I don't know about that. It was a bit harder no doubt but there's a big difference between being hit on your lantern jawbone and being hit right in the throat.

Point is Djokovic fans are whining that the woman overreacted and she should have just gritted her teeth and stoically endured it without blinking. However, our hero acts as if he'd been shot with hand gun such is the glaring and sulking after a minor clip from Nadal. He was clearly implying the...

When people hit Djokovic it's "bad sportsmanship" but when Djokovic hits other people it's just a heroic overflow of his volcanic Baltic passion. Worst. GOAT. Ever.

I imagine you're right, those ball boys do think themselves lucky to be touched by greatness. You should count yourself lucky to able to view and write about it. Treasure these moments.

Heh, I love when "new users" come swaggering in with a manner like they've been around for years. It's weird. Kind of like they've been here before in a different guise... Keep on trollin' in the freed world, dude.

Pinocchio the "new user" eh? Someone's nose is getting longer by the second, I'm guessing.

Dkokovic's narcissistic, self-serving response to the incident sums up his whole problem, “She doesn’t have to go to the hospital for this... You’re going to choose a default in this situation? My career, grand slam, centre stage.” He didn't need to hire on a New Age guru to try to adopt some...

Ha, you're probably right. In my defense though, I'm an English teacher though and All the Kings Men is one of my favourite novels of all time.

Let's be clear. If a football player petulantly kicked the ball in the direction of an official and it hit them in the face/throat - then intentionally or unintentionally they would be gone. How do I know? Because I've seen it happen. Any "violent behaviour" such as kicking the ball at someone...

Your point? I love the armchair warriors who are certain they could take a ball the throat without flinching. I've seen other guys do this with boxing. "I can't believe he went down from a jab! That was barely a touch. How soft. I wouldn't have even reacted to that." Puffs cigarette, munches on...

Let's be clear. He's been demonstrating this kind of spoiled petulance for ever and continually trying to grovel his way back into good books after doing something crass. There's such a difference to being hit by a ball in the middle of a match when you're braced and moving athletically to when you're completely unprepared and relaxed that it's not funny. The age of gallantry is truly dead it seems.

Did anyone else never really feel like Roger could win the match?

I'm a bit puzzled that people are saying that this match has "damaged his legacy." In numerical terms only, if you strip out context and the nature of the performances achieved then sure 21>20. However, for a 38yo guy, with so much scar tissue accrued at the hands of this opponent, to be able to...
