Are those 2 rackets still available and could the grip be reduced to L2?

    Volkl C10 Pro

Hello, i have been playtesting the newest version of this racket (yellow, 2019), and I experience some shoulder pain which i never had when playing the older version (2012 model). Are they any different regarding flex rating? I know the new one has a higher swinghweight, but is it also...

Crisp, fairly soft and with control at low tension?

ok, maybe I got it wrong then. The ones I listed are not dead, they are more lively poly strings, but still work very well at low tensions for me . I string them at 20 kg.

Crisp, fairly soft and with control at low tension?

I tried all of them: Signum pro X perience feels pretty soft, but still crisp. It is easy on the arm. Is has a little texture, so high spin potential. Signum Firestorm is not as soft, but still not harsh, very powerful. Some pros are using it Scorpion is older, quite powerful and soft feeling...

    Low tension

@ Happi Thanks. I am considering playing with Signum Pro Firestorm (17g) in my Völkl C10 Pro (16/19) at 40 lbs. Firestorm is said to be quite soft, but not too soft. The alternative would be to use something like Pacific Poly Force 17, which is considerable stiffer / less powerful. I might...

    Low tension

@ chic Thanks, i agree. I really just would like to know, all stroke mechanics and technique aside, what would be more sensible: to string a poly very low which is stiff or soft ? I guess if you string a soft poly low, tension maintenance will not be great. And I guess if you string a stiff...

    Low tension

Happi, why would you say soft ? Just from a factual point of view. Is there any evidence that a soft or stiff poly plays better at low tension ?

    Low tension

I would use / consider : Signum pro firestorm (softest) Signum pro x Perience Pacific poly force (stiffest) All of them I would string 40lbs. Which one would work best at this tension in a rel. flex racket RA 63 with 16/19 pattern ?

    Low tension

Thanks , but just looking at it rationally with regard to overall performance, what would make more sense ? Something like 4G strung low or s.th like Silverstring? It is a matter of preference, but what would the tennis scientists tell me ?

    Low tension

Thanks, and why stiff ? Why would it be better ? I have a couple of stings here being in the 220 stiffness range and some more like in the 180 Range. Will the feel be more crisp and more feedback ?

    Low tension

Hello, i string my rackets low, around 40 lbs with polys full bed. In this low tension range, would it be better to pick a stiff poly or a softer poly , looking at both playability and durability / tension maintenance? I know there is no right or wrong, but what would be your recommendation ...

    Poly like Alu Power

Hi, i was told that Pacific Poly Force 17 plays very similar to Alu Power, but with a lot better tension maintenance. Same for Firestorm, but with a sofer feel. Any comments on those strings?

    Signum Pro Firestorm 1,25

Thanks, sounds good. I like a powerful and comfortable poly in my controll racket. But what about spin potential for Firestorm? Thats the only negative thing I read about, not having enough bite. I cant image that looking at the TWU data, compared to Scorpion it should even have more bite.

    Signum Pro Firestorm 1,25

Hello, how does this string play and which other polys can this be compared to ? I heard this would play a lot like Alu Power but with better tension maintenance? I would be especially interested in a comparison with SP X Perience and WC Scorpion.

    Pacific Poly Force

thanks, but then how does it play? I am curious to try it out, but it is quite an expensive poly. It is said to be rather stiff, but still playing quite nicely, with some good power and touch. I would not want it to play like 4G or similar. Whats your experience with it?

    Pacific Poly Force

Hi , has anyone tried this string in 1,24mm ? It seems quite an old poly, there is not much information available on it, but still it appears to be pretty high quality for a poly. Which strings would you compare it to ? Many thanks.

Flexible racket - stiff or soft poly strings ?

@ fuzz nation thanks for your input. for me only polys are relevant. The rest doesn’t provide enough doing and durability for my kind of game. I totally agree that soft is the way to go, so Iam looking for a soft poly which still provides good power ! The final ones on list would be Signum...

@ esgee48 btw what would be a typical crisp string? Alu Power or similar?

Flexible racket - stiff or soft poly strings ?

will test 4G Soft (1,25mm) in my Völkl at 40 lbs and see how it goes compared to Kirschbaum Evolution (1,25mm) at same tension.

Flexible racket - stiff or soft poly strings ?

Is 4G Soft as durable as 4G ? I want a nice crisp response even at 40 lbs, but it also want it to last more than a couple of hours of play. Does 4G soft kill my arm ??

Flexible racket - stiff or soft poly strings ?

Hi, thanks. I am using a pretty flex racket (Völkl C10), contemplating to put kirschbaum Evolution (which is rather soft I heard) or Luxilon 4G Soft (which is still pretty stiff I believe). So you would recommend 4 G Soft ? I do string low indeed, 40 lbs usually. In this case 4G Soft might...

Flexible racket - stiff or soft poly strings ?

Hi, in a flexible, controll oriented racket, in order to get the best performance, would you recommend to use a soft or more stiff poly string ? I feel using a soft poly in a flex racket will make the feel more mushy and reduce durability of strings considerably, though it might be better for...

What's better than full bed Confidential?

Most players with 5.0 or higher level would easily attack those balls, let alone ATP Pros. Thats peanuts for them. You would not even have the time to put spin on the ball playing against them. Spin in general is overrated. There is no use to play highly textured or extreme spin friendly...

Can someone please compare X Perience vs. Evolution and / or 4G Soft ?

ok, thanks. I know 4G soft will still be stiffer than the other two strings, but from a playability and durability point of view, how to differ ? Which one has the best playability and tension maintenance? I heard many good thinks about all of them.

Can someone please compare X Perience vs. Evolution and / or 4G Soft ?

X Perience is my go to string , but i would like to know how if differs from those 2 strings mentioned. Which one is your preference and why ? Thanks

    Leather Grip

thanks. do you think it would be a good idea to use a leathergrip without an overgrip ? What would be the pros and cons ? And I heard to use wax or oil would be useful to keep the leather rel. soft and tacky, so it doesnt slip out of the hand. I need to try that out.-
