Isospeed cream or Tier one ghost wire?

We found one of the best control oriented but soft setups, in particular for players with high rackets speeds is BK/GW. This is our favorite setup in the Tier One office :)

Isospeed cream or Tier one ghost wire?

We are honored how many people enjoy playing with Ghost Wire. We would like to mention that some polys have a low stiffness rating and some polys offer high tension stability. What makes Ghost Wire (and also Black Knight for that matter) so special is that they perform exceptionally well in...

Wilson Ultra Tour 2.0 string setup

In the Tier One Sports office, we personally like Black knight/ghost wire a lot as well!

String for Blade my new 16 x 19 V7 recommendation please...Black Knight an option that you've tried??

Based on your feedback we would recommend substituting Black Knight with Firewire. This setup should offer more power and in particular huge spin potential.

String for Blade my new 16 x 19 V7 recommendation please...Black Knight an option that you've tried??

We here at Tier One Sports personally love hybrid-ing Black Knight with Ghost Wire in the crosses!

Cheaper alternatives to X1 Biphase and ALU Rough?

    Triumph/Black Knight

Yes, I would certainly try Black Knight. Almost as soft as Ghost Wire but with texture!

    Interesting Soft String Setup

Poly/multi setup: Ghost Wire/Triumph....as smooth as silk

Recoil: the main string snapping back to its original position. Strike Force RIP behaves more like a synthetic gut in that regard.
  14. TierOneSportsOfficial

    Tier One Sports

We agree, Strike Force RIP plays extremely smooth. We do have customers who love this string because of the response this string offers. One of the disadvantages of this string is that it does not offer the recoil that you would expect from a poly string. So it is important for us to emphasize...

Non of our strings are overly stiff. From the top of my head I would say Durafluxx 16g might be the stiffest. Yes, Ghost Wire and Black Knight are the softest.

    Best natural gut currently

you could try replacing Black Knight with Ghost Wire. That would offer similar playability with less cutting into the gut.

    Cyclone vs Cyclone Tour

We do offer Firewire in Red AND Black for many years! ;)

    Cyclone vs Cyclone Tour

Black Knight certainly has a lower launch angle than Firewire. I could not say that it has the lowest of all our strings. Ghost Wire is pretty low, Durafluxx as well. Yes, 18 gauge will respond quite differently than 16g in spin, ball pocketing, launch angle, etc...

    Cyclone vs Cyclone Tour

Difficult to say. We generally string mains and crosses at a same tension. You could try to increase the crosses (Ghost Wire) in tension to increase control.

    Cyclone vs Cyclone Tour

You might want to try Black Knight Full bed or hybrid it with Ghost Wire in the crosses. You won’t have that „springy“ effect.

Black Knight/Ghost Wire hybrid could be a great choice for a 5.0!

Poly at 22kg, Multi 2 lbs tighter...We usually recommend putting the poly in the mains and multi in the crosses but there are different philosophies on that.

    Tier One Sports

If you usually string your racket at 22kg with a poly I would string GW the same tension and Triumph 2kg tighter.

    Tier One Sports

Yes, you could assume that one and same string in different gauges holds tension longer in a thicker gauge (usually you can see that at very thin gauges (1.10mm) tension stability starts to drop off quite significantly, even if the over tension stability is high) TE: Every person responds...

I will to do my best to provide you with an answer: We disagree with the statement that stiffer strings hold tension better than softer strings. For example, if you take Babolat RPM Blast 1.26mm: Stiffness: 273 (lbs/in), Tension Loss: 17.13 (lbs) and compare it to Black Knight you will see...

    Is hyper g best poly

If you like hyper G (but it’s too stiff), we would recommend trying Black knight in the mains and Ghost Wire in the crosses....we recently tested this setup side by side to hyper g with some high level players...wow!

    Soft & control oriented polys

    Soft & control oriented polys

We would like to clarify that Ghost Wire is not a pure polyester string, it is a co-polyester compound. Also, could you please elaborate on the statement that Ghost Wire is the stiffest of those four crosses? Is this based on personal experience or lab testing?
