    Stringbed Question, 16/19 v 18/20

I'm really happy with the feel of the Blade 98. I've tried a few racquets and this gives me the best feel and comfort I like in a racquet. I was just curious about string spacing around the centre of the stringbed on the 16/19 and 18/20, but if the differences are extremely minimal, I'm more...

    Stringbed Question, 16/19 v 18/20

Thanks for these responses. Pretty much confirmation that its more me, just needing to get used to it. I'm finding the comfort, control and low power feel with the 18/20 really. Certainly the most comfortable racquet I've used and that's coming from previously using Prince racquets and older...

    Stringbed Question, 16/19 v 18/20

Has anyone ever compared the string spacing of the 16/19 and 18/20 Wilson Blade, around the centre of the stringbed? Is there much in the way of larger spacing around that area on the 16/19? Unfortunately I don't have access to a 16/19 to compare myself. I'm enjoying the 18/20 on my OHBH, but I...

    Thickest Replacement Grip

Just a bit of a way out thought really, but some bike handlebar tape is pretty thick and is similar in its construction to racquet grip tape. I've seen some handlebar tape at 2.5, 3.2 and 4.5mm thick. If you use an overgrip, it might be worth seeing if wrapping handlebar tape as your base grip...

50th Anniversary of Elvis Presley's 1968 Comeback Special

That's a shame. The last of the original quartet. I believe TCB band members James Burton and Ronnie Tutt are still going though.

50th Anniversary of Elvis Presley's 1968 Comeback Special

Great tribute idea. Also quite a revolutionary moment for Elvis. About the first time he put his foot down and went against Col.Parker's instructions. As you probably know, Parker wanted a chunky jumper, Christmas show with twee Christmas songs. Elvis said "No".

    Prince Phantom

Thank you for this. Concise and to the point, just what I wanted. I've never heard the PCG100 described as not being comfortable and I find mine very comfortable (and I did previously have an arm injury, unrelated to tennis), but I know what you mean. With the flex and ports, the Phantom...

    Prince Phantom

I look forward to that :) On paper, there seems to be a lot of similarities. Similar weight, same head, same string pattern, thin beam. The only differences are the stiffness on the PCG at 62 (which is hardly overly stiff) and no ports. I'm tempted by the Phantom, I'm just not sure how...

    Prince Phantom

I don't know, but my guess is that the Phantom fills a gap in their range. They currently have TT Tour 100P that is a similar weight, with an 18/20 pattern. The current range of 'Tours' with the 16/18 are fairly light in comparison, so the Phantom kind of fills that void a bit.

    Prince Phantom

If you don't want something similar and you don't want something different, what would you want? That doesn't make sense to me. Surely the choice for an alternative racquet is something similar to what you have or something different. FYI the Phantom is not like the Warrior. The TT Warrior...

Did Borg played in Adidas sneakers?

Yes, that's what I said, Adidas just changed the endorsement initially and then re-vamped the shoe in 1978. Without asking Mr Borg directly, I can only guess. My guess is that Borg wanted to wear that shoe but by 1976 the first gen Smith branding was on it, so Adidas provided him with an...

Did Borg played in Adidas sneakers?

Borg is wearing Haillet's there. The clue is the plain, unmarked tongue. That shoe took on the Stan Smith endorsement in the early 70's when his picture and name was added, but it was essentially just the Haillet. It got re-vamped in about 1978 I think, when the tongue got a new photo, two...

Big Hitters With Very Light Rackets...??

I used a light stick in a doubles match at the weekend and the weight definitely made some very fast reaction volleys a lot easier, without question. I don't think having a heavy racquet is essential. It's not like any of us are facing the shots of top pro's on a weekly basis. I think weight...

    dunlop maxply mcenroe (graphite) users?

I weighted up a HM300G to the same specs as a Bio Max200G and just strung it with syn gut at 52lbs. Not the most exciting string set up I know, but it works very well and and provides a nice even feel. I actually have a few HM300s at varying weights that I have tinkered with and I have tried a...

    Prince Classic Graphite MP 93"

I really like the PCG100. I think it's a well respected racquet, but because it doesn't feature on the pro tour, perhaps doesn't get as much positive exposure as it probably deserves. Yes, definitely minute differences really. Whether those differences have any impact at critical moments for...

    Prince Classic Graphite MP 93"

Yes, I find them both quite whippy really, but a slight nod to the PCG100 for RHS and the 93 gets the nod when blocking. What do you have your 93 weighted at? I switched the leather grip for a synth grip on mine and added a heavier synth grip on my 100, so they are pretty similar in terms of...

    Prince Classic Graphite MP 93"

It's a good question but the answer is not completely straightforward. Because the PCG100 is slightly lighter, it is slightly easier to flick it quickly if I'm stretched or if I get the ball hit fast at me when I'm at the net. However, the difference in speed is very slight, but the 93 feels...

Fashion Police: US Open 2017 Edition

I've been disappointed with the offerings from Adidas and Nike over the last few tournaments to be honest. I know the clothing sponsorship counts towards a lot of these players' earnings, but it has to come to a point where some of them just say "I'm not wearing that". Particularly some of the...

The shrieking has got to stop.

I think the shrieking has become laughable, to the point I find it funny. It's obviously not effort related.....who shrieks or grunts when playing a chipped approach shot or a drop shot. Whether it's meant to put off the opponent or just some weird habit, it'll continue until an official cites...

    Prince Classic Graphite MP 93"

I never managed to get a POG93, but my bag consists of 2x Exo3 93's and 2x PCG100's. I've tried other racquets, but these two do the job well enough. I've never really done much with strings though, POSG at 52lbs has always done me well enough.
