Someone from this forum should go play Essential Tennis guys

Generally I would but I played Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun for about 1.5 hours every day and my old body needs time to recover. Next week I am open all day every day so let's make it happen! I hope you are ok with me trying to record our hitting session.

Are you Ian or Kevin? Even if you are not, I would love to have a hit if you are 4+. I have a big match on Thursday so I would prefer to not hit before that but I am open Friday and all weekend! (y)(y)(y)

The Prince Phantom 93P is a gift to us from TW - My Review/AMA

It exists in 18x20 and it's coming out in 14x18. Any other string patterns that we'll see in the 93P?

Nah. Impossible to be 5.0 at the moment. I have good power off both wings and a decent serve but you need some great consistency and athleticism (plus much more ofc) to be a 5.0. But thanks. I'll report back no matter the results.

It means that I don't have an official NTRP rating as I am relatively new to the US and haven't had the chance to play USTA tournaments. However: In my club, the top 2 levels are considered "4-4.5" and "4.5-5.5". I lead the "4-4.5" with 14 wins and 0 losses and I am 7th out of 14 in the...

Will do! If I am being honest and of course if I get a chance to hit against Ian, I don't think he will crash me. Realistically he is a better player and I will have all sorts of trouble but you never know! :)

No reason to be sorry, there is nothing wrong with what you are saying. If Ian crushes me, he is definitely a 5.0 and this will shut down haters for good that claim he is not a 5. I am ok with being beaten, it is educating and humbling.

I consider myself a 4.5 and I am in Chicago. I would definitely drive to Milwaukee to play against Ian! I will email them tomorrow and try schedule a match. I will keep you guys updated!

What do you suggest? I tried alu power at 46# but couldn't get any decent power from it. What I find hilarious is calling a frame perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect frame. What works for my game might not work for yours and the opposite. But I am glad the racket works for you and you...

It is an easy to swing 12.2 ounce racket due to it being so headlight but is it easier to swing than the Blade that is almost a whole ounce lighter? Also, because it so low powered, in order to generate any decent power, you need to be swinging hard at all times as anything less will land...

It is called Head Youtek IG Radical MP. It is a relatively low powered so you need to string at low tensions but it is a phenomenal racket. Very underappreciated imo. Other 2015 Blade 98 18x20, not that buttery but definitely a great one. Best frame for what use? How is it the best frame in...

Nick Kyrgios' brother was paid $40,000 to advertise for a gambling company

LoL yeah. The guy is his personal trainer or so and posts (or used to) these motivational quotes all the time. Apparently they didn't have an effect on his brother! :) As far as the rest regaring the leeches, I agree with you 100%. Christos still gets a good part of the pie! :D:D

It's sad that you guys are making fun of Christos's looks. The guy has alopecia, he doesn't choose to rock this look. + Go to his fb page (or Nick's) and see the chicks he "hangs out" with! :D:D

Why is Novak's ground game better than Fed's?

The fact that Stefanos comes to the net very often, does not mean that Federer is not an all courter. He is one of the best all courters the game has ever seen, he has every shot in the book and the footwork to support it. He just chooses his weapons wisely.

    Sampras with Wawrinka groundstrokes???

I think you are overestimating Wawrinkas groundstrokes. For sure when he is ON and goes for every shot he is very impressive and so much fun to watch. But his high risk game by definition cannot be always ON therefore his average groundstroke game is significantly lower than you think it is...

Good racket but needs some lead. It has stability issues compared to rackets of the same weight.

What is the most gut-like string that's NOT gut?

I agree with everything that you say. For a couple hours poly is the best there is out there if you can take the impact. The problem is that most tennis stores (at least the ones I've been to) won't inform you of the characteristics of each string. They will ask the customer: -Do you want the...

What is the most gut-like string that's NOT gut?

I didn't suggest poly as a replacement for gut. I simply responded to the post's 116 question "And while I'm at it...why do players need poly rather than apply technique to cure their hitting long?"

What is the most gut-like string that's NOT gut?

Ramon, I am glad you no longer get pain! But the fact that you got pain from playing with Poly doesn't mean that everybody should stay away from it! I have a friend that plays USTA 5.0 and has played sectionals too. Very high level player. He always used to play Multi and/or Syn gut hybrids. I...

What is the most gut-like string that's NOT gut?

Not everybody has elbow issues because of poly. Most people have issues because they string it at 60 pounds on stiff Babolats or because they keep hitting with it after it goes dead or even because of bad technique. Most actually because of bad tecnique. People under 4.0 shouldn't use it...
  28. FedGR

What is the most gut-like string that's NOT gut?

Because no matter how you change your technique, poly will always give you more spin so it will allow you to hit bigger.
