Better for tennis if Chung beats Federer

What's the point of looking at that match like it was some kind of a positive litmus for Chung's game? Djokovic's elbow kept him from keeping his balls in the court and using his serve effectively. You want a perfect example of Chung's game, look to the Zverev match where he broke Sascha's will...

Better for tennis if Chung beats Federer

Those are my *least* favorite aspects of Nadal and Djokovic's games.

Where did it all go wrong?

Well, Fed was considered a talented underachiever until, coincidentally, 2003 when he won Wimbledon at the relatively late age (for an all-time great) of nearly 22...

    Nishikori lost a challenger match

He needed to change his service motion. Too much wrist snap forward and no pronation put a ton of stress on his wrist.

Better for tennis if Chung beats Federer

Sure, when Chung earns it. I'd rather not see wall-ball tennis winning Slams again like the Hewitt era. Even Nadal at his most defensive would turn on a dime to offense when the opportunity came because he had weapons. Chung just has unflagging retrieval skills.

    Did Nads retire on purpose?

He actually said this himself in his presser. Absolutely knackered after 4 hours against Schwartzman.

Is the ATP Tour schedule really to blame for injuries?

Not to rain on your parade, but Federer weighs just as much as Nadal at nearly 190 lbs. He's got massive legs and trunk even if his skinny arms make him look slimmer than he actually is. And I know players fib on their bios but Federer himself has said this himself in an interview.

Is the ATP Tour schedule really to blame for injuries?

I mean, she's the owner and can make whatever rules she wants within health and labor laws. She technically *doesn't* need to take responsibility for herself.

My gosh..Sharapova is screaming louder than ever!

Are you stupid? I'm not saying anything of the sort. I'm not trying to stop anyone from doing anything but I will call someone out for being racist or sexist as I see fit. When I feel like this board has moved beyond my patience and ability to enjoy tennis discussion by the pollution from...

If you're going to call a foot fault...

At one point, you said the start is when the server makes contact with the ball. That's the end of the service motion. Anyways, it's all good. Thanks for making it right. You're right, I'm just used to so many a-hole posters on this board and can get my back up quicker than I should.

Does one inch of height make ALL the difference in terms of power?

It's not a matter of power, it's leverage. Power is generated by shoulder flexibility, technique and ability to accelerate the racket. The leverage that height gives you allows you to have more angles in which to hit your serve.

If you're going to call a foot fault...

My god. I'd originally said that it was when it was struck but that's not true because if the server swings and misses the ball, it's still considered a fault. The start of the service motion isn't when the ball is struck, it's when the server starts swinging into the ball. We all know that foot...

If you're going to call a foot fault...

What does that have anything to do with what I said. If your toss is interrupted, you’re not granted a first serve. That’s not considered the beginning of the service motion.

My gosh..Sharapova is screaming louder than ever!

Casual racism and sexism is virtue signaling? How far is your head up your arse? Is that offensive enough to meet your criteria? The perpetually tone deaf can ignore anything.

If you're going to call a foot fault...

Not wrong, Until a server starts swinging his racket toward the ball, it's not considered the start of the service motion. If that weren't so, you couldn't catch a ball from an errant toss. As long as a player isn't materially shifting his position from original, you can move your foot some...

Federer reveals locker-room advice to 'crushed' Zverev

Chung won, I'm confused why he needs consoling or congratulations from another player who is also still in the tournament. The bias in your statement is extraordinary.

My gosh..Sharapova is screaming louder than ever!

This and the casual racism from some of the posters is the reason I go on hiatuses from this site. I want to bond over and talk tennis with fellow fans, not be exposed to constant derogatory comments and hate. The fan base wars make it even less tolerable.

You have a roof, close it !

Who do you think told me this? I had a kidney transplant in 2010 and my nephrologist has told me to stay out of excessive direct sunlight since my medication increases the intensity of heat symptoms. Go find a colored friend (if you have any), stand in direct sunlight for a few minutes and touch...

You have a roof, close it !

I didn't claim that. Literally just stop @'ing me if this is what you're going to go on and on about. Like I keep telling you, just because melanin disperses UV light to protect against sunburn and cancer doesn't help the heat affects you're feeling. You perspire more as a defense mechanism for...

You have a roof, close it !

Read my post one above this one and I explain. This dude thinks he can explain away how much more heat and sunlight causes darker skinned people to suffer because melanin disperses UV light, which isn't a mechanism that causes physical relief from heat stroke symptoms.

You have a roof, close it !

Hey, how about you stop "explaining" to me, someone who tans hard in the sun and wilts under it while lighter skin folk seem to be fine with some heavy sunblock? Ridiculous is what you are. Stop being condescending when I'm telling you what it's like to have dark brown skin and stand in 100*...

You have a roof, close it !

Are you being intentionally obtuse? You have to absorb the heat first before retaining it. And melanin has to dissipate heat because it doesn't reflect as much sunlight as with lighter skin. Otherwise colored people would have long since died off from the hot conditions we've come from through...

Anyone else frustrated that Tennis Channel isn't on the Starter Package for Comcast?

In the States, our wonderful telecom companies bundle everything as packages. So you have to pay for extra content that you don't want in order for more channels to get a piece of the subscription revenue. You only get a la carte for the premiums like HBO because they can demand it and cable...

    Should Mixed Doubles be scrapped?

Look at all the non-Grand Slam events and early-round Masters tournaments on the men's side for attendance.
