Wilson Pro Labs: Blade Pro Official Thread

Broken in half..is just stupid. Practice with D1 players and some of the best juniors in the country. My frames see the wear and tear for sure. Casing one in a doubles match after getting ones feelings hurt in mixed doubles doesn’t sound much like an experienced 5.0 player.

Wilson Pro Labs: Blade Pro Official Thread

It’s interesting, playing with this frame win or lose, I don’t even want to scratch it. The stress of the pandemic and all of its ramifications placed on families, many are coming unhinged. Saw a 65yr old guy at the club that is normally very calm, going completely nuts, shouting, throwing his...

Wilson Pro Labs: Blade Pro Official Thread

The last frame I cased was around 22yrs old. Even though the frames were free is suddenly dawned on me just how ridiculous that looked to the people watching us play and how much of a joke that makes one. The people playing on tv that break frames are playing for, in some cases, millions of...

Could have sold that for $200-$225 pretty easy. It’s like burning money.

When I get over 50lbs with several different poly strings the frame becomes a bit board like. Settled at 48lbs with T1: Black Knight and has plenty of control without robbing the frame of the power and touch which are some of the highlights. Would imagine if you go up in tension 2-3lbs from...

57/54-58/55 with VS/4g in the RF97. Had to go higher tension to control the ball with the RF. Seem to have better control with Blade Pro. Can use lower tensions.

Just hit with the Blade Pro with VS Touch/ 4g @ 55/52. Found the feel, spin, touch was looking for with this frame. Awesome. Best full poly set up T1:BK @ 48. Headed to Klip Legend/Ghost Wire.

    Blu-Tack under the bumper?

Putting lead tape or anything under the bumper guard can make it difficult to get the grommets back in and get them to sit flush. Especially if the grommets aren’t new. Pulling the flared grommets through the frame and then getting them back in is more than difficult. Completely defeats the...

    Blu-Tack under the bumper?

It’s nice to see Yonex, Wilson, Head offering frames in different static weights, swing weights, and balance. Easy modifications make them play awesome.

    Blu-Tack under the bumper?

Personal preference for sure. Over time have realized that whether it’s me or players we work with there is normally not a tremendous amount of weight added when they start with a frame suited for them. For instance, the guys that use the RF97 the only weight we see these players adding is a few...

    Blu-Tack under the bumper?

Lead tape comes in a roll. 36 yds. Guess I have never had a problem with using lead tape on frames and silicone or blue tack in the handles. To each his own.

It’s inevitable, going to have to try it. Never found a 16x19 didn’t like with Gut/poly.

    Blu-Tack under the bumper?

1/4” lead tape goes on and off really easy. The residue left over you can rub off with your thumb and no cleaner or chemicals. The only frame I have had to experiment a great deal with is the PS97. No left over mess on the frame. Tourna lead tape works really well.

Anyone using Gut/poly? Been going down on tension. 52,50,49 and now at 48 with T1: BK 17g.

Black frame with black strings equals poor volleying?

You could also dress like Darth vadar and completely psych out your opponents. That could compensate for missed volley attempts. The cape would be awesome. Just a thought.

Black frame with black strings equals poor volleying?

Watch the ball not the racquet. Unless you changed the length of the frame, no effect or affect, which ever you prefer.

Yea, have had BK in my Prestige Mids for awhile. Keep hitting with the tighter one of the two every time I go out. Plays better the longer it is in the frame.

Black Knight @ 50 is business in these frames. Alu Power @ 52 was awesome but bagged out in about 3hrs. Get about 6-8hrs with BK.

Wilson Pro Staff 97 vs RF97.... Some of my best and worst

Played with the RF97 from 2014 and still hit with it some today. Took off the leather grips and use Wilson Synthetic grips. Using full poly in the RF97 stayed around 49-52lbs. It is tough on the arm as well with full poly. Best Set Up: VS Touch 1.30/ 4g 1.25 57/54-58/55 The PS97 added...

Playing with Black Knight 1.23 in a Prestige 360+ Mid at 49/49. Awesome string, great control. Interested in trying BK/ GW at some point. Please let us know after you try BK and compare it to BK/GW.

I’m dialed in with three of these frames. Now it is just hitting baskets of services to get consistent hitting spots along with gym and on-court training. This will be the real comparison for me with the Prestige Mid 360+. The serve. It is kinda strange to be training and nothing to play in.

The RF97 Is excellent but would take some things away if I could. Too bad it doesn’t work that way.
