    Patrick Mouratoglou the enigma

Thanks for the info, and the other poster who also pointed it out. PM certainly went far with that money. He will be selling lessons at his academy off the back of Serena for some time to come.

    Patrick Mouratoglou the enigma

I would agree. I like Venus' side eye here. She is a wise one.

    Patrick Mouratoglou the enigma

Oh that's a complicated one. What do you think about it?

Do you think some players exist in the "good looking bubble?"

I don't think Tsitsipas and Zverev are anywhere near the level of Dimitrov, Berrettini, Fognini or Fucsovics.

    Patrick Mouratoglou the enigma

It's all about the connection with the coaches and players. A great coach and a great player means nothing if they don't have that personal chemistry. It's either there or it isn't. If the connection is there between the top coaches and the top players, bang- magic can happen. We know PM and...

    Patrick Mouratoglou the enigma

Yeah, I mean you don't need or get a higher profile gig than Serena. Charlatan is a great term!

What are Federer & Company's biggest regrets?

Federer- I think he has the least to regret. There is not much you can do in tennis if the match up is not in your favor. However, he will regret 40-15, and rightfully so. He may regret not sticking to his game plan more in some of the big finals vs Nadal and getting lured into baseline rallies...

    Patrick Mouratoglou the enigma

Wikipedia says he opened his academy back in 1996 and he coached Baghdatis to the 2006 AO final. Not sure if he came from money or how he managed to open an academy when he was 26.

    What's next for Sascha Zverev?

He'll be flying under the radar, on purpose. Hoping the bad publicity blows over. Which it won't; not in the age of social media. He'll forever be a pariah and it'll be a nightmare for tennis if he wins a slam. Which he won't.

Is Federer crazy for coming back?

He has to. I am sure his negotiations with uniqlo mandated he stayed until Tokyo Olympics.

SERENA WILLIAMS WILL NOT STOP UNTIL SHE AT LEAST EQUALS GRAND SLAM RECORD - PATRICK MOURATOGLOU

Why the shouting! Lol. She won't stop then. Needs to shift 30lbs and get back that mental strength.

Djokovic is in a slow decline, but his fans don't acknowledge it yet

How could he have slams he was DQed from and which never took place? I don't get it. I get he could have won a slam in which say he was leading 2-0 in the final and then he got injured or fell ill. Yeah, he could have won it being that close. Or maybe he could have won it if he held championship...

Bo3 Format at the USO, how long?

I couldn't work out a lot of that poll- it's late here!- but I would say: First four rounds by 2023 All of it by 2028. I think it'll come soon. It always comes up at the slams as a discussion point by the journos. It makes sense, too, financially- bring in more fans, get matches out the way...

Who was relatively closest to eliminating Djokovic during 2021 AO?

No one came close, but Fritz was the least furthest away.
  15. D

    Rate the 2021 Australian Open

5.5 rounded up to 6 for Tsisty Vs Nadal. 6 is not very good. Even USO 2017 got a 7 from me.

Djokovic gave up $1 million of his prize money to the lower ranked players

That is very cool. It makes sense, too. It's pretty dire that the champs get so much and the lower ranked guys so little. Too much like the real world!

Novak has a 25 mm tear

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I think other slam champs have won the tournament with injuries, I might research who is documented. Sampras and Graf come to mind.

Were Djokovic's losses to Murray in slam finals inexcusable?

Djokovic was mentally weak in those matches. Probably no Big 3er has played a mentally weaker slam final than Djoker at Wimbledon '13.
  19. D

But, but I thought 04-07 was the weak era??

So hyped performance beats actual performance? We can't say Meddy is weak, which he was, because we hyped him to be great, which was, er, hype? Interesting.
  20. D

Djokovic would have been on 20 today.

I'll buy the Wimbledon one, even though we can't know he would have won it. That was out of Nole's control. But I'm not buying the DQ. That's all on him, no asterisk there.
  21. D

You have to hand it to Djokovic

He needs more USO titles to be hard court goat. Needs to at least level with Nadal there. It's only one more title so doable.
  22. D

If Wimbledon weren't cancelled and Noel didn't behead the judge

The Wimbledon argument I get. But not the DQ. That was not fate; that was just Djokovic's stupidity.

This is why slam H2H is a ridiculous stat

Nadal has a nice slam h2h vs his main rivals so I can see why non Nadalers would find that stat....questionable.

AO 2021 Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [3] Daniil Medvedev

On the plus side, I could not not have handled a close but no cigar Meddy performance. I'm still furious at Thiem for last year!

AO 2021 Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [3] Daniil Medvedev

What insight is Mischa offering? I feel like he's saying obvious things.

AO 2021 Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [3] Daniil Medvedev

Lol eurosport making us listen to Daniil's words on Djoker. Tennis media is thinking we need to make people love Nole if he's gonna be GOAT!

AO 2021 Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [3] Daniil Medvedev

Djoker kept it short and sweet.

AO 2021 Final: [1] Novak Djokovic vs. [3] Daniil Medvedev

Meddy, no tears, no nonsense. Great perspective on life and tennis. He'll be back and getting his hard court slams when it's time.
