Is Steffi Graf a higher GOAT than Margaret Court?

Evert would be inclined to agree, as that was why she retired -- only "actual" mental toughness. Continuing would surely hurt one's win-loss record. But you can only add titles to your résumé. I can understand where you're coming from.

Which players have an ugly, but very effective shot?

Niculescu and her forehand always struck me as odd. Though there was something neat about its effectiveness as well.

Is Steffi Graf a higher GOAT than Margaret Court?

He was a reason I joined this community; everyone was supposedly one of his accounts. Watch them slandering Rhino :-D https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/best-annual-win-loss-stats-in-last-20-years-women.60804/ I have some genuine comments to make on the subject of a comparison...

Is Steffi Graf a higher GOAT than Margaret Court?

The funny thing is, they nearly all remain for how vitriolic they were. Nowadays, every honest discussion about Serena is deleted beyond a day or so.

Seles is a higher GOAT than Margaret Court.

What is it that makes Rafa so GOATy on clay?

    I don't like him...he wins too much.

SERENA WILLIAMS WILL NOT STOP UNTIL SHE AT LEAST EQUALS GRAND SLAM RECORD - PATRICK MOURATOGLOU

I had a flashback to 1999 as I saw that match, and I'm sure she did too. A terrible feeling for sure, to know you're outclassed and past your best days. She's still a legend, but I hate to see a legend try their best and have no chance due to age.

Let's NEVER say Fed's competition was weak

The dangers of mental strain. The more you worry about winning a match, the quicker you'll find your energy sapped than even if you went in with lower expectations. Djokovic had high expectations and high confidence like a champion. Medvedev had high expectations but equally high doubts and...

SERENA WILLIAMS WILL NOT STOP UNTIL SHE AT LEAST EQUALS GRAND SLAM RECORD - PATRICK MOURATOGLOU

There are reasons to. But I believe she also fears the ridiculing will grow out of control if she resigns from her quest early. That to her, the attempt and fail may also damage her legacy.

It's scary to think that without 2020 cancellation, Djokovic is approaching Pete Sampras at Wimbledon now...

You're right, of course. Modern medicine would have greatly prolonged his stay -- though if I recall, a large part of the retirement was the result of a fading interest. With that given, I still would be wary to put Pete on the same level, even with modern medicine. While he's an ATG, we have to...

Rate your all time Top 10 Clutch / Top Players under pressure.

That's hilarious and tells you two things: the first being that your rating will inevitably slip the more matches you play. Someone who gets lucky when expected to lose 1/1 matches will have the best rating possible, but you can't win the slots forever. Moreover, this is why I don't trust...

It's scary to think that without 2020 cancellation, Djokovic is approaching Pete Sampras at Wimbledon now...

Maybe Pete could edge something out, although I don't see it -- on this slow stuff now, he hasn't a chance. Djoker would at least have something to offer on the fast grass at his peak. He also had threatening a serve along with a far better return/groundie game. Pete has a much worse chance of...

It's scary to think that without 2020 cancellation, Djokovic is approaching Pete Sampras at Wimbledon now...

I never "lived through" celebrities. I watched them on TV if they were on and usenetted them or caught them in the paper. Djoker would cream him.

It's scary to think that without 2020 cancellation, Djokovic is approaching Pete Sampras at Wimbledon now...

Bollettieri had everyone one-dimensionalizing their game including doing slice serves as a default safety measure. The only exceptions I can think of are players who went into that partnership with diverse games already. You might've noticed how Kournikova went from having good, varied placement...

    Favorite Open Era Decade

None of these players hit their strides hit their strides alongside each other if you ask me, other than Davenport and Hingis who had already declined. I may be doing Sharapova a disserve, but I could not stand to see her play. No one I knew could. Not to mention the enhancers. Luckily a good...

    Favorite Open Era Decade

It was pretty poor (if you ask me). Legends retiring, Davenport and Hingis falling off, Seles falling further, Serena and Venus on a limited schedule, baseline bashing walls like Capriati and Sharapova winning slams and future stars like Clijsters not yet having developed until midway through...

Whats your top 10 of all time right now?

Time passes you by if you aren't prepared! Of course jabbing, but the achievement is grand as is his longevity. A lot of respect to players who reshine after years down. Yet if only Graf had achieved that last tour finals, there would be no debating anything with her...or would there? You've...

    Rate the 2021 Australian Open

Looking back, one has to wonder why. Everybody has a streak once in a while. To take nothing away from him, but beating a streak of comparative little leagues relates little to playing Djokovic in a final. The danger with streaks is they snap, and it's all mental.. You stand across the net from...

Murray says Next Gen a long way off Big 3

You should count making finals as really close. He was at least in the mix for a good long while, enough that they had to come up with a new term (Big 4) just for him.
