Falling apart - Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I think the post viral ones are probably close to 50%. The ones with mental health issues, chronic pain and CFS it's a lot closer to 0%. The treatment plan is generally focus on nutrition, sleep and exercise and managing mental health. Not much else you can do when you don't have a...

I Never Had a Lesson Like That!

Not sure what you mean by that? Right now what I see is that with her shadow swing the hands move back together and the arms go up together and then she swings nicely from there. With her real serve, the toss hand starts tossing while her racket hand moves back. Then she's got a toss in the...

Which Pro’s Shot Can You REALISTICALLY Develop?

The Caroline Wozniacki Moonball. That might be in my wheelhouse.

    Crosscourt forehand rallies are overrated

My forehand is more powerful but my BH is more versatile. I feel comfortable from either wing knowing on the BH side I can hit a 2H drive, a 1H slice or a lethal drop shot. My FH slice and droppers are a mess. I can also swinging volley better from my BH side. Volleys and lobs are about...

    How to deal with nerves

I think part of what drives anxiety is not being in control and often with losing, you aren't in complete control as the opponent may be playing better than you that day. So I think that even if winning and losing is big for you, during a match, trying to concentrate on things in your control...

I Never Had a Lesson Like That!

Any advice on getting someone to move from a beautiful shadow swing to a real swing? I've been working with my wife on her serve technique and she can shadow swing a beautiful motion (finally after 3 months) but as soon as she has to serve for real all that motion and timing go out the window...

Just still not soft enough. At least for me.

Prince's Twaron and Textreme Offerings, a Bit Confusing?

Not too many of us remember what we had for breakfast, let alone a racket we may have tried 25 years ago. I was always a Prince and Wilson guy, So i've got little experience with Head frames. Can't help you with that. But I suspect that by looking at the Specs you might not be too...

Rackets have gone up in price

Pickleball paddles go for $200. Tell me how that makes any sense? It's a glorified ping pong paddle used to hit a whiffle ball. What R&D needs to go into that?

Does a powerful racket make it easier to generate ball speed?

Are the control frames same static and swing weight as the power frames in your comparison? Most of my control frames are a bit heavier so it definitely takes a bit more effort to swing them. That being said I tend to play shorter points with control frames as I go for my spots more than I do...

Do tighter stringing patterns really generate less spin?

Open string beds will get more traction on the ball to deliver more spin (and a higher launch angle). They also will allow more string movement to accentuate snap back. I don't think high launched balls give an illusion of spin. They are just a byproduct of rackets that have higher spin...

The Prince Phantom 93P is a gift to us from TW - My Review/AMA

Thing cuts through the air so nicely that you get a lot of easy RHS. Plus the lower launch angle gets the ball through the court pretty quickly. I feel like Lendl when I use it.

Prince RipStick 300 - coming soon!

Nice work. Love my Phantom 107G for it's forgiveness so I don't think I'd bother with a Ripstick. Don't need more power.

Does a powerful racket make it easier to generate ball speed?

I play with a number of different frames all varying in power levels and I certainly notice that I adjust to the racket in two ways: 1) Swing plane (hit more vertical vectors with the powerful frames to add spin) 2) String tension (higher tension in more powerful frames) So my shot depth and...

The Prince Phantom 93P is a gift to us from TW - My Review/AMA

Took it out today for a couple sets. Man it feels good to hit with that racket. I've got a bit of TE so I'm using Origin/Velocity at 52/48lbs. I was hitting and serving beautifully with that setup. For me it's the perfect frame if I'm playing someone a little weaker than me or a pusher...

Prince's Twaron and Textreme Offerings, a Bit Confusing?

All the new Phantoms have twaron in them. Anything with ATS will have Twaron. Additionally any of the Textreme tours will have twaron if they are listed as having textreme X. But they will all be stiffer than your request. Likely the new Phantom 100P would suit your request.

Does a powerful racket make it easier to generate ball speed?

Power is essentially defined as the ability of the racket to deliver swing energy to the ball. So rackets that don’t absorb energy are powerful. And that means you need to provide less swing energy to get the ball moving as far.

Is doubles a separate game than singles? And Is doubles not easier?

Presumably your partner also has a serve that is a weapon so now it's a 50-50 equation which is pretty much all high level doubles. Service breaks are just very hard to come by in advanced doubles due to the lethal combination of serve + poach. So now it's 7-6 6-7 10-8.

    A very heavy racquet

So now your racket is what 50 points HL? It's like swinging a ball peen hammer from the ball peen side. I think I prefer my rackets a little more evenly balanced.

Do you have specific racquet needs or can you adapt to whatever is prevalent ?

I can play with anything as far as technique goes. As far as how my arm feels, it does require some degree of softness. I have preferences of rackets 12-12.5 oz strung with SW in the 330ish range.

Is doubles a separate game than singles? And Is doubles not easier?

The level will be the one where your serve starts to be a weapon. As soon as that happens, it makes everything easier for a quick net player regardless of his skills.

    Good Point Videos

Much like racquetball will replace squash. And NASCAR will replace F1. Americans always seem to think their sports will achieve worldwide popularity and that is rarely the case. The British have done a far better job creating sports with worldwide appeal (golf, tennis, rugby, soccer, squash).

    How to deal with nerves

    1) Don't play on a "Win at All Costs" league team. Find a team that plays for the love of competition not for the love of winning. 2) Realize no one will think more or less of you as a person if you don't win a rec league tennis match 3) Before every point think to yourself "Loose grip, watch...

That looked very similar level. Old guys had power, young guys could move. Everyone made typical doubles mistakes.

    volley with your feet

Pretty much a feature of Head frames that tend to have flexible hoops with stiffer throats. That's how they keep their RA so low since the RDC Machine generally measures hoop flex more than throat flex.

    Blade V7 Tennis Elbow??

I think everyone is different. I have trouble with poly as soft as Cream still. In a flexible frame with lead. And I do Tyler Twists and stretching and everything else. Just old and bad tendons. If you are young you likely can heal faster with less aggressive maneuvers but the safest...

    Doubles beatdown: 10.0 vs 8.5

We actually won the consolation side one year so that was fun. Had to beat a couple solid 8.0 teams to do so. My friend played some of his best tennis ever.
