String suggestion similar to YPTP 1.25 Yellow but with better string retension

Well, the new poly tour rev is very comfortable and plays very good until breaking. It does not seem to have that dropping off the cliff thing that many other strings have. But as far as I know it's not on sale yet for the general public. Contrary to Yonex's claims, it is not a spin monster even...

who need to spend a fortune

Of course it's not but there is a huge difference in quality. Some will last for days, some for years. I usually use Nike Court T-shirts...the basic single colored ones. They are good quality but man the amount of dye that goes out of them when you wash them for the first few hurts...

    Babolat & Yonex bags. Opinions?

I have a Babolat Pure Aero bag I bought 1.5 years ago and it's still ok. I like the bag. One of the zippers on the side pocket can get stuck slightly but that's due to me not being careful. I switched to Yonex rackets and will be switching to a Yonex bag too due to brand loyalty. I will be...

    Hyper G Alternative

PTP is easy on the arm. Much more so than HG or HG soft in my opinion. I had all 3 in my Ezone 100.

Most Pros are using stock racquets

Maybe Yonex did that for Stan because he uses a heavy racket. Was yours an actual match used racket? Whatever pro stock Yonex or Babolat I got my hands on (that is played on tour) it was just made to the exact specs that the player wanted and in the latest paint job. That's it. I've compared...

Most Pros are using stock racquets

I see there's a lot of thought in this forum that the players are using some magic wand tennis rackets. The fact is that most tennis players are given retail frames to test when switching brands or something like that. They are also of course given the new models to test just in case they'd...

    Signum Pro X-perience 17L (1.18)

My experience with X-perience is that it plays far crisper and more comfortable than HG and I prefer it for that reason. But yes, it is not soft. I bought a reel of HG because I got it cheaper than X-perience but I wish I hadn't.

Does COFFEE (or caffeine) have this effect on you?

I stopped drinking it last February. So almost a year now. I still drink it here and there when with some company but I don't need it anymore. After 1 week of feeling groggy I was fine without it. I hate needing something so when I realized I need it, I got rid of it. Now, I feel the same...

What is the best approach to developing tennis talent?

Just talked with the parents of a pro player not too long ago...they did all kinds of ball sports since a very early age and were determined to master them all. But the kid wanted it, not the parents. I think that's key. Only around the ages of 9-10 the kid focused more on tennis and along with...

    Check your tails TW!

    Ran out of rackets?

Roland Garros. A girl broke 5 strings in less than 10 minutes I think. She uses natural gut in the mains and due to the damp conditions it broke. She uses a Vcore Pro. Her coach gave her his Pure Drive with full bed of poly and she lost the match.

The racket is actually way prettier in real life than in pictures somehow. I have both next to me right now and I'd take this one any day.

New Yonex Vcore (for 2020 or 2021 ?)

if you think you need less power then 98 would be ok. But if you’re happy with the power then you shouldn’t go down a size. I was testing the 98 ezone after being used to 100 rackets and I just couldn’t gel with it. I love the ezone 100 though.

New Yonex Vcore (for 2020 or 2021 ?)

I tested SV100 and VC 100 2021 side by side (pro stocks) and they are very different rackets. SV is way more flexible, completely different frame mold, different feel, less spin, etc etc. I'm no pro so take my comparison with a grain of salt but the pros say it's too different to switch.

    Wrist relief / racquet choice

I tested all 3 Ezones and the 100 seemed just as if not more comfortable because of its forgiveness. Even if you hit right next to the frame on the stringbed there's no jarring sensation in your arm from it. Do that with a Clash 10 times in a row and your elbow will feel it.

    Wrist relief / racquet choice

The new Yonex's are a treat. I have problems with my wrist originating in guitar playing and they have not bothered me since switching to the clash and then to 2020/2021 yonex. Strung with Hyper G.
