    Introducing Grapplesnake USA!!!

I also snagged some Grapplesnake gut, and I'm looking forward to trying it out. Was thinking of adding some Irukandji to demo against Yonex PTF as a cross. @Grapplesnake USA Official (or anyone else who knows), how's tension maintenance on Irukandji compared to your other polys? Do different...

    The gut/poly thread

Gotcha. I guess I'll see how long it lasts me and go from there. Thanks for sharing all that. Are there any other crosses worth trying?

    The gut/poly thread

Awesome, this is just the info I was hoping for. How much do you prestretch PTF? And how long does it last you while performing reasonably well? I do love the feel, but I'd need a lot more than 4-5 hours to make it economically viable.

    The gut/poly thread

Hi friends. I'm just starting to explore the gut/poly world. I tried a hybrid with polytour fire this week, and so far it's been fantastic. But it's sort of an expensive setup, and I'm curious about other options. I have a couple questions for the gut/poly illuminati: 1) Has anyone tried Yonex...

Possible Method for Starting Mains - Flying Clamps, Starting Clamp/Pin

I've found that if I flip one clamp upside down, I can place the clamps on adjacent strings without stacking. I haven't noticed any disadvantages to doing so. I did replace the Gamma clamps with Pro Stringer claws, which I think are a huge improvement. I do string hybrids now and then, and I've...

Possible Method for Starting Mains - Flying Clamps, Starting Clamp/Pin

That makes sense. Seems like a good practice, I'll start doing that.

Possible Method for Starting Mains - Flying Clamps, Starting Clamp/Pin

Hi all - I come seeking the wisdom of better stringers than I. I learned to string last year and use a Gamma X-2 (though I dream of upgrading someday). Up until now, I've started my mains this way: 1) Thread the two center mains 2) Place a starting clamp outside the frame on one main 3)...

    Hurkacz Racquet

So I hear! I didn't love the green 310 (I too preferred the HD), but always wished I'd had the chance to try the blue.

    Hurkacz Racquet

Sorta figured Hurkacz was still playing with the previous gen Vcore Pro, as that's the version (or at least the PJ) he had when he switched to Yonex. Whatever it is, seems to be working for him!

Anyone pick up a pair of Yonex PC Fusion Rev 4's yet?

Also curious about these. I like the narrow fit of the Eclipsions, but could do with a bit less bulk.

What Are Folks' Shoe Preferences These Days?

Updates: finally got to try the Gel Resolution 8 and Yonex Eclipsion 3. Love the fit and feel of the Gel Res, but I got serious heel movement even with a runner's knot. Only way to lock it down was to tie so tight that I cut off circulation, which is obviously a no-go. It's a bummer, because...

    clamp recommendations?

I've now used both the Stringway clamps and the PS claws, and I slightly prefer the claws. The easy adjustment on the Stringways is nice, but the difference isn't huge as long as you have a screwdriver handy. The claws are less bulky, and the tapered design creates less distortion on the outer...

Firm grip like leather, without the weight?

I have the Excel Pro, and as far as I can tell it's the same as the stock synthetic grips on my Vcore 95s. It's firm for a synthetic, but I wouldn't say it feels the same as leather.

Firm grip like leather, without the weight?

Some brands make PU leather-like grips. Karakal has some (I think Andy Murray uses their grip?), and the famous custom shop in New York makes one that's designed to imitate leather. I tried the Gamma HiTech, but it's pretty thick (~1.8 mm, I think) and heavier than most synthetic grips...

    Ultimate string of choice !

Enjoying this thread. Thanks for sharing all your results. I had the same issue with Hyper-G's playability over time. I like Lynx Tour a lot. I haven't played Cyclone in a full bed, but for whatever it's worth, I think Black Knight is pretty different. Different shape, better feel (imo), and...

    Vcore 95 2021 vs Vcore 95 red 2018

And my preferences are the reverse. Lots of good Yonex frames; different feels for different players.

    Vcore 95 2021 vs Vcore 95 red 2018

The 2018 VC95 is definitely less muted. They're pretty different racquets, though — the EZT is heavier, head-heavier, and has a 16x19 vs the VC95's 16x20. The VC95 is quicker through the air, and it won't have the same plow unless you add weight (which I'd recommend). I thought both were very...

That's a long wait, but nice that yours shipped. TW is currently out of stock in my size (11) for all but the Tokyo Sunrise, but hopefully they'll get more soon.

What Are Folks' Shoe Preferences These Days?

Thanks for the suggestions, all. Frontrunners are the Gel Res 8s, but it seems like they're hard to track down right now. Backup plans are the Cage 4s or Yonex Eclipsion 3.

What Are Folks' Shoe Preferences These Days?

Soliciting opinions — I'm currently rocking the Lotto Mirage Speed 100, but the ankle collar digs in and causes some pain for me. I have a narrow-ish, low-volume foot. Fairly aggressive mover, young enough that I still love to run. I I tend to like shoes that feel fast and stable (if the Lottos...

    Asian Karatsev Racquet

Not doubting this, but someone help me out — how can a stick stay that light and that head-light while keeping the swingweight that high? I know this isn't a retail frame, but every racquet I've ever seen with weight<335g and SW>330 is pretty head-heavy. What black magic is this?
