How Long does Natural Gut / (co)Poly Hybrid Last?

The issue here may be the VS tonic. If you do some reading on the subject you’ll find lots of complaints on numerous threads about tonic not lasting half as long as the regular VS touch does. There’s a reason it’s cheaper.

Babolat VS Touch/Team vs. Tonic natural gut coating....

I play with VS Touch and love both the plush feel and how long it lasts. That said, from my experience, for about the same money I would be using Klip Natural Gut before I played with VS Tonic simply based on the durability factor. Tonic does not last.

    ASICS Speed FF2

There IS a form of DYNAWRAP in the Asics Solution Speed FF 2. It is noted on the Asics website, but they appear to have altered it a bit from the GR8 (which did not suit everyone well).

I think the Tennis Pro Doctor reviews are the best ones going right now and he rated this shoe the FIFTH best available right now in one of his recent features. He loved it. Shoes he rated higher: 4) Lotto Mirage 100 3) Nike GP Turbo 2) Adidas SoleCourt Boost 1) Asics Court FF2

    The gut/poly thread

Good reports on RED CODE WAX as a cross string, but Technifibre does not make it anymore. A string close to that would be YONEX PRO TOUR FIRE 1.20.

    Luxilon ALU Power 18 gauge

I had high hopes for this string, however, I was unimpressed. Tested it as a cross with gut mains and it was among the least playable of the strings tested. I ranked it at the bottom of the 12 Polys I tested. These were my best: Tennis: CROSS STRING - Smooth Polys Ratings for...

KLIP or VS Black gut as cross

Using Gut as the cross string is sacrilege. Total waste of money. Do like Federer and use the gut as your Mains with Poly crosses. MUCH better performance.

Babolat vs touch or Klip Natural gut

It seems that KLIP or TW have recently reduced their prices, so at $29. a set, I would think that the Performance to Price Value ratio was the best for natural guts at this time.
