Most flexible, softest, mushy, noodle bendiest rackets of all time

Here you go then, directly from the Rossignol factory of the glorious days. Ain't that scheme great? I also have stringing explanations but it's in French so… Enjoy :)

Do you have one to string? I do have the stringing pattern but a close pic should be good enough for the job, no?

Rackets used by pro's from mid 80's to late 90's

Great! Now kids want to play with the Babs and they get Rafa's posters.

ATP's current ranking system according to Dirk Hordorff

Hi all, Just came across Dirk Hordorff's statement about the ATP's current ranking. Of course you may or may not agree with him but at least he says what a lot of us -- players, fans, some media maybe -- think to ourselves. It also questions the state of the ATP tour after what they call "the...

Rackets used by pro's from mid 80's to late 90's

Sure. I was talking about retail frames which, for me, aren't the same quality as they were 30-40 years ago.

Most flexible, softest, mushy, noodle bendiest rackets of all time

Yes, I think I remember that the very first version came out with a RA of 37. I could check.

Rackets used by pro's from mid 80's to late 90's

So many great frames compared to most of the sh** that we now have. I'm talking about retail frames. Pro stock is yet another planet.

    Different versions of Rossignol F200

Here in France we still can find some in very good shape for a few bucks... Recently I saw a FCX, some F300 and some superb red F230 that I am considering purchasing...

    Different versions of Rossignol F200

1982-84: played with number 1 1985-86: played with number 2 End of 1986 till early 1989: played with "number 2" + signature (not pictured in this thread). End of 1990 till June 1991: played with the same as above with a Vectris PJ (in spring 1991 at least). Then he took a two-year break from...

    Rossignol f200 Carbon Black variant

Incredible story that I have never heard before. I'd like to know what's behind it but I guess that only Mats could tell, by now. All that I recall is that in the late 1990, Mats switched back to his old Rossignol F200. It was maybe in September or early October. He visited the Rossignol factory...

    Rossignol f200 Carbon Black variant

Fantastic. The black F200 was my very first "real racket". Played with it for a couple of years before switching to the "Mats Wilander" grey ones. Unfortunately I gave it to a friend at the time and I wish I had kept it. Never mind, I still have all the grey ones, fortunately. Nice find...

    Since Djokovic's comeback in 2018

Agree. And it's a shame as, whether you like Djokovic or not, he is a great player and figures speak for themselves. Same for Nadal and Federer today, but it's also true for all the great champions from the past, which younger fans tend to forget, halas. Tennis is NOT just Federer, Djokovic...

    Since Djokovic's comeback in 2018

I think it goes beyond the Fed-Nadal-Djoko debate. For instance, I personally don't even enjoy them as players. As a person, I don't know them so I couldn't say and I don't really care. Congratulations to them for what they achieved, period. But let's face it : when these three are retired, who...

    Since Djokovic's comeback in 2018

It also put into perspective how weak today's tennis field is, apart from Fed-Nad-Djoko (who I'm not even a fan of).

Who is your favourite one slam champion?

    Indeed. Clean tennis.

What’s the worst racket to ever win a grand slam final?

He beat some great players at the Australian Open in 1983: Mac and Lendl. In 1985, he lost in the final against Edberg. Won all 3 Slams in 1988 with the F200. It was later in 1989 that he switched to the Prince... and he never won a Slam after that :(

What’s the worst racket to ever win a grand slam final?

You mean he won 7 slams with that thing and brought back Ivan to his knees for… like 20 weeks. That ain't too bad ;) The F200 wasn't so bad in the early 80s. Most players still used wood rackets when Mats won the French in 1982.

Pat Cash, Ivan Lendl and the 'Shoebreaker' incident.

lol. So true, mainly for the -- most of the time dumb -- press conferences.

What racquet "technology" have you actually liked?

Rossignol's inverted throat. Fischer's vacuum technic. Trademarks of the greatest ones.
