The real winner of the Murray/Ferrer semifinal

    Great umpiring in that match

This AO is Murray's to lose

Ferrer in the semis who's never troubled him on HC. Meanwhile Djokovic and Federer are in comparable form and should wear each other down in theirs. He'll go in relatively fresh vs a physically and mentally tired opponent No better opportunity will open itself up to him than this.

Courier says AO balls are bigger, heavier and slower this year I've not watched enough to really gauge how much of an impact this has made, but I'm still kind of disappointed since I've never felt the AO needed slowing down any further.

Any way Rafa doesn't cruise to the final now?

4th: Lopez 1/4: Ferrer / Verdasco 1/2: Wawrinka / Querrey / Robredo / Isner / Youzhny Can't see any of those troubling him at all really.

[4] Murray vs Gulbis (Cinci R3)

It's about to start. Could be good, hopefully Murray doesn't go walkabout mentally again. Ernie looking very manly in the warm up, and with a classic rock montage soundtrack to boot (it just doesn't have the same effect behind Muzza =[ ).

Is Federer's minimal schedule hurting his consistency?

Just a thought. The last few years, people have praised Fed's decision to play a fairly cut back schedule (particularly in contrast to Rafa's hectic one often leading to burnout), presumably with the intent of helping his longevity in the game. Of late though it seems one of the main problems...

The "I'm a bit bored of Fed and Rafa's continued domination" thread

Couple of things to note first: I have tremendous respect for Roger and Rafa and their achievements in the game, it's been fabulous to watch two players with very different games operating at their peak. I'm well aware of Del Potro's (may he heal fast) spectacular USO triumph last year and do...

Madrid 2010 [QF]: Almagro vs Melzer

All the other quarters got their own thread, so why not this one! That and it's in play right now. Nico has been in sparkling form this week, while Melzer has been playing pretty well and getting the job done for once.

What really annoys me about Andy Murray

I can live with the incessantly screeched come ons, I can manage to look at the brashirt for 3 sets without wanting to put my eyes out, and I can handle watching his style of tennis (even if I do find it pretty boring). What really bothers me is his yelps of frustration and awful negative...

A big day for YEC hopefuls [Shanghai R3]

Tsonga vs Youzhny :: tokyo final

Both guys going for a 5th title of their respective careers. Youzhny's played some great tennis and beaten some good opposition to get here. Tsonga's had some tricky moments, but came through his match with Monfils impressively. They'll be starting in a minute or two ^^

    The battle for #4

So Roddicks victory over Djokovic marks an interesting point in the battle for #4, he's now managed to overhaul Djokovic in points obtained this season. Nole himself is defending quite a few points during the rest of the season, and is quite obviously not playing his best tennis right now...

    (Wimb.09 R2) Gonzalez [10] vs Mayer

Last match up on court 1 today ^^ Probably not of interest to that many people, but I like Mayer and after his 0, 0, and 3 demolition of Hernandez it'll be interesting to see if he can cause Gonzo any problems. Gonzo should win, but Leonardo may sneak a set (and if he serves well he's...

Safin [20] vs Ouanna For those Safin fans among us it always seems a good idea to have somewhere to vent those emotions he tends to trigger during a match/tournament/season xD He's playing Josselin Ouanna, a French wildcard, so there's likely to a be a lot of French support on show. Safin...
