What's Your Favorite Yonex of All Time?

RDX500MP. Pace, spin, sound of cracking that ball. I just could not get over the grip shape and went with the MG Prestige Mid. Wish I had gotten a pair of the rdx.

    LiquidMetal Prestige v. Microgel Prestige

I found the LMP mp to feel a bit hollow in the hoop but slightly more powerful than the plusher and slightly flexy MGP mp.

    Most arm-friendly Prestige MP?

I haven't used any of the IG prestige racquets, but the other previous techs I have (mid and mp) and for a substantial usage period of time (2 months - 2 years). The LM Prestige mid had that "buttery" feel to it like the LM P mp but with more (relative) power. I'd put the MG P mid/mp as next in...

    Head Flexpoint Prestige MP

I found i.prestige MP to be the stiffest of all the HEAD technologies I've used in the MP categories (except IG...haven't used it). In any case, FXP prestige can still be bought online in north america.

Longtime (2+yrs) MG Prestige Mid users... what are you using now.

Thanks for the reply. I've actually moved up to the MGP mids from the MGP MP line. The MP lacked the extra power I was needing. Mabye i'll start demoing at my nearest tennis store :).

Longtime (2+yrs) MG Prestige Mid users... what are you using now.

Been out of tennis and the forums for a while and I'm looking to upgrade my sticks. Would like a bit more power. Sucks that the HEAD mid line is no longer made. 4.5 rated player, 1HBH, flat, eastern grip. So what are you previous MG Prestige mid users using and loving (>6 months) now. Thanks.

    Best Value Ball Machine

The SP's are soild. I bought a SP Star for my dad (thought about the lite but upgraded) and it's been working great going on two years now. Maintenance is easy (ball fuzz build up) and the various spins really bites! Customer support has been timely. Just read carefully on the proper operations...

Cliff Drysdale talking smack about one-handed backhands today.

In essence, as a 1hbh-er myself, I regretfully agree with Cliffy. The 2hbh is much more efficient, powerful, and controllable- leading to a more reliable shot. With a 1hbh you have to get into position while preparing to lead with you right (rightys) or left (lefties) leg in a stance. You can...

    Secret of Djokovic's success

Djoko thinks....therefore he is. The sports psychologist has helped him- even made "changes" (look in his box during matches) around Djoko that took pressure off of him. The power of performance anxiety when present. And absent.

    A Battle of Mids

Ryushen21, I agree with your description of the muted feel of the MG P mid. I like it actually casue it reminds me of the HEAD Radical Tour Trysis 260. One can "thwak!" the ball and experience no jarring/uncomfortable feedback from the frame. But I get much more touch/finesse with the MGs...

    A Battle of Mids

Yeah the PC600 is a great racquet. Had mine in 06' bought off **** in like new condition. To this day I still regret selling it after a 6 months stint. I will eventually buy another in prestine condition but not for play.....but to admire :) .

    d3o = Prestige on steroids

When I hit breifly with the YT P MID demo stick, with low tensioned factory string, it did indeed feel stiffer than my MG P MID. Though I did notice it was a bit more stable-er on my backhands than the MGs. None the less, the details of the pj is sweet- down to the butt caps.

You used both versions of the racquet with same string type/size and tension?

Recovery time from severe tennis elbow

Took me about 2 months. No more poly strings for me- though admittedly I should have reduced the tension even more than manufac recommendation. Rest, then rehab (light weights, daily grip strengthening exercises etc).

    Best Recreational Tennis Ball Machine?

google www.sptennis.com The SP Edge is awesome (dark blue). Nice looking machine. Definetly more feature packed than what's avaliable with-in and even above its price range.

    4.5??

That singles was painful to watch. It's one of those matches where the first 2-3 points determined that match is not worth following.

If your'e naturally a singles player, what elements of doubles would trouble you?

Volleying and counteracting poaching. I would also throw in serving further from the center line.

Seriously how can you not like this guy?! Look at this VS Nole.

Nadal and Djoko are close friends off the court. And it is indeed a warm gesture on Nadal's part. Gotta like him for being genuine. I certainly won't expect a gesture like that from someone whom I only have contact with at and during tennis tournaments.

    Rolled an ankle? :(

Oh, and I'm going back to New Balance shoes. Getting a new Breathe Free Cage I for $45 seemed like a nice deal at the time, but it has cause more foot problems (Metatarsalgia) in 3 weeks, than any tennis shoe I've worn true to size and after breaking in. And it's no where as comfortable and...

    Rolled an ankle? :(

Yeah, I'll be hitting 31 this December and I must say injuries have been aplenty within the last 2 years- all tennis related. Right knee, left wrist, left shoulder, and now the ankle. As long as recovery times are similair to my early 20s, I can live with injuries. It hasn't stopped me from...

    Rolled an ankle? :(

So I sprained my left ankle on the courts last Thursday night. A freak accident really, as I cupped a ball from going long with my racquet while running for it. The ball rolled off my racquet and onto the ground, and my left foot trapped it with all my foward momentum landed squarely on it...

How long will the Rafa Hegemony Last?

I agree. 2-3 years max. His body can't withstand his super physical game for much longer than 2-3 years. Smart move to flaten out his first serve to get more aces.

Is Roger Federer's game declining, or is he just mentally 'out of it?'

I dont think his game is declining. It was only a matter of time for a few players to understand how to beat Federer. And that's with playing a more physical game than his.
