Players and their corresponding animal names

May be the tiger reference can be seen for Sinner. But if his own word is to be considered, he is a fox:

Players and their corresponding animal names

Noticed many players being likened to animals: Federer - Goat Nadal - Bull Karatsev - Lion Sinner - Fox Lloyd Harris - Tarzan What are other common names? Edit: Or any suggestions?

Comments by Paul Annacone on the greatness criteria (and Paris Masters)

“Personally, I don’t believe in the concept of ‘greatest of all time’. I think we can debate, if anything, the “most successful”, who has achieved the most in their career,”Annacone said in a recent interview. Along with the Slams, Annacone feels other metrics like the weeks spent at world...

Does Federer have any record that you don't see being broken?

Point being it's not safe for Federer because of Nadal equalling him.

Does Federer have any record that you don't see being broken?

The thread is about records likely to stand safe for a while.

Does Federer have any record that you don't see being broken?

Nadal's slam record seems safe for a while. Djokovic's weeks at one will probably not be broken anytime soon. Which important Fed record do you think will last for long?

    Miserable state of current tennis

The field has been the same since the last 2 decades. When were any players at all a threat to the big 4? Even if you bring in peak Hewitt, or Roddick, in this era of tennis or any other player from the last 2 decades, I'll favour recent versions of Fed, Novak and Nadal over them anytime...

Can Djokovic join the Club 6?

It is tough but possible. Based on recent performances and past results: Thiem, Tsitsipas, Zverev and Rublev can all pose a massive threat.
  9. JohanLiebert

    Rublev will win slams.

Andrey Rublev is the most likeable guy out of the big 5 (Zverev, Shapovalov, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Rublev). After every defeat, he is extremely humble. After every win, he is courteous as well. Acknowledged how "lucky" he was due to Thiem's foot injury yesterday. He did not need to considering...

Would you prefer Nadal's 14 RGs or Pete's slams?

Alternatively, it could imply that he is simply much better than the rest of the competition on the surface.

Would you prefer Nadal's 14 RGs or Pete's slams?

I am talking about the latter.
  12. JohanLiebert

Would you prefer Nadal's 14 RGs or Pete's slams?

If Nadal wins RG in June (or later), would you as a professional rather have 14 RGs or Pete's entire slam tally? Benefits of choosing Nadal's 14 would imply undisputed dominance over one surface apart from the numerical equivalent of Pete's slams. Choosing Pete could imply some variety in slam...

Djokovic: A player has a greater chance of winning a slam than number 1

“Grand Slams are historically the most significant tournaments in our sport, there is no doubt about that,” Djokovic told reporters at the Vienna Open. “Winning a Slam is like winning a world championship, only we have that opportunity four times a year. Those are two exhausting weeks in every...

2020 Vienna Open (Nole Calling) - General Discussion

Tbh Sachko is kind of playing way above his 500 ranking though.

Heute, Thiem ist nicht gut aber Sachko spielt nicht so schlecht.

2020 Vienna Open (Nole Calling) - General Discussion

I wonder, if it is the pressure of being the overwhelming favourite.

2020 Vienna Open (Nole Calling) - General Discussion

Thiem is playing so poorly. The same way, against Gaston, Zverev and Schwarzman. Won't work against Novak, if he doesn't get back his best level.

Will anyone win 60 grand slams?

Nadal might in singles. Overall, Navratilova could only win 11 French.

Will anyone win 60 grand slams?

My question is not sarcastic. Navritilova won 59 slams.

Gaudio destroyed Rafa on clay 4 months before RG 2005

So Gaudio was bageled by 18 year old Rafa? Would be stream rolled in the days to come.

Is Navritilova's open era record of 59 secure?

Nadal the only one of the Big 4 to never have used audible obscenity

So we can rely on our eyewitness evidence. There is no obscenity unless clearly proven.

Nadal the only one of the Big 4 to never have used audible obscenity

Also, it is not really an aggressive purposeful swear. Matter of factly put forth after grave provocation.
  24. JohanLiebert

Nadal the only one of the Big 4 to never have used audible obscenity

True. Federer is cursing. But the title of the YouTube video is misleading. Nadal isn't abusing, which affirms the topic of the thread.

Nadal is 0-17 against Federer and Djokovic on non clay since AO 2014

He might beat Fed, if Fed cannot maintain his 2019 level. Djokovic is tough. No man has won match point against him on HC, this year.
  26. JohanLiebert

Is it easier for Federer to win a Major or to reach No1 again?

I enjoyed the 2020 RG. I like Nadal. A great win by a great champion. Hope he can replicate this victory. Fed has reached the semis or better at 4 of the last 5 slams that he has played.
  27. JohanLiebert

Is it easier for Federer to win a Major or to reach No1 again?

You are right in understanding. That's the level that took him to the semi-finals of a grand slam.
