First time since 1973 no American men ranked in the top-30

LOL. Was waiting until we finally got to the point in this thread where we'd hear something along the lines of "these youngsters are just eating avocado toast, posting dances on TikTok, and ruining US professional tennis in the process. Back in my day I'd walk uphill both ways to school in the...

First time since 1973 no American men ranked in the top-30

Bad take here. Trying to equate two vastly different scenarios and lacking all nuance.

Adopted a Pro Kennex Copper Ace 90 yesterday!

Nice! Still haven't given it a hit just yet (been wet and rainy here in Colorado), but excited to give it a go and compare it to my K90/93p. Have a feeling it'll need a fresh set of strings though because it's unclear how long the current set has been in the racquet and they appear to be cheaper...

Post Pictures of your Racquets and Tennis Gear

Came across this Pro Kennex Copper Ace 90 labeled "Free" on the side of the road yesterday! A quick wipedown, fresh white overgrip, and its ready to hit the courts! Although I expect to find that it'll need a fresh set of strings too... Anyone else get Miami Dolphins vibes from this stick?!

Adopted a Pro Kennex Copper Ace 90 yesterday!

Sometimes the tennis gods reward you for going on your silly little daily walk and offer up a free side of the road racquet for your enjoyment! Came across this Pro Kennex Copper Ace 90 on the corner with a sign that said "FREE" and couldn't help but be intrigued! I hadn't heard of the racquet...

    Full Alu Power?

I'm sure someone here has a better recollection and specifics, but like OP said, pretty sure Delpo was using full bed ALU Power in a Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 95 around that time...

    Full Alu Power?

I've never been a "I need what the pros use to play like a pro" guy, but after watching that match live and seeing Delpo obliterate Nadal in a Grand Slam 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 I'm pretty sure I was googling "Del Potro racquet" and "Del Potro strings" incessantly LOL

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Lol, we're in an airbnb so she just rolls her eyes and hopes I don't knock something off the shelf. I'm of course more worried about any scratches/paint chips to that beautiful midnight purple paint ;) And interesting, that makes sense as well! I'll give it a few more sessions and see if it...

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Circling back on this thread because @Irvin and everyone who chimed in deserve my kudos! Added 8g of lead to my 93p split 4g above the 9.375 cm point and 4g below (essentially near the butt and top of handle), and boy was the difference in feel almost immediate. Shadow swings in the living room...

    Fist pumping

True. And if you ask my dad, he might even say that he thinks winning a point on a net cord is actually the ultimate mark of skill lol.

    Fist pumping

Generally agree with this, although it's funny, when I used to hit with my father he never understood the tennis etiquette of apologizing for a won net cord point. He always felt like if the rules dictated that you can win the point all the same whether it hits the net first or not, why should...

Where would number one woman rank on ATP?

Sorry, but these sorta threads always seem toxic, pointless, and self-serving. What are we trying to accomplish here? Just feels like the grown up equivalent of boys pontificating who would win in a fight between a lion and a crocodile or some sh*t like that.

    The Lines of Babolat

Not to derail the thread, but what was the reasoning for Gasquet's duel Head stencils? Obviously it makes sense when the string sponsor is different from the main racquet sponsor, but in that Gasquet case, why?

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Fair enough. I'll get to experimenting here soon. If Colorado could just stop snowing this process would be a lot more seamless :-D

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Sorry last thing, can you also share your method for adding weight to the butt? This has always terrified me. I'd hate to do irreparable harm to my racquet.

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Interesting, makes sense. That's part of the reason I immediately took off the lead at 10 & 2; it was too much and I could feel it too noticeably. But given those diagrams in options 2 & 3, seems incredibly difficult to pull off the exact placement points and fractions of a gram of lead? I liked...

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Got it. Curious, how did you arrive at the 9.375 cm number? In my screenshot above, it seemed the TW calculator recommended the 8g at 15 in. from the butt? I don't have a tape measure on me at the moment (currently in an airbnb), but 9.375 cm from the butt seems significantly lower and might...

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Interesting, 12 o'clock huh? I did experiment with lead at 10 & 2 for one session and took it off immediately after...just didn't feel like the right balance. Dumb question maybe, how are you adding lead to the handle? Inside? Idk why I'm terrified of tinkering with anything to do with the...

    93p 18x20 vs. Graphene 360+ Prestige Mid

The real (and overly obvious) answer is to demo both and see how you feel yourself. I expected to like the Prestige Mid more and ended up impulse buying a 93p right after. Like some have mentioned, strings and lead placement can make a world of difference too.

    Make my 93p more...K90-like?

Hey friends! Impulse bought a 93p (18x20) after a nice little demo sesh last month and still trying to get things fully dialed in with it. It's a great racquet as-is, don't get me wrong, but I'm really trying to make it sing. For context, I'm coming from a K90 and I absolutely love the weight...

    Tsitsipas' weird press conference

    93p modification

I tossed some lead around 10 & 2 and immediately took it off after one session. Balance felt off without also adding subsequent weight in the handle. I think tinkering with strings is more the way to go with this frame.
