    Life Span of a racquet?

No need to add a political 'color' on this thread. I just found your view of changing your racket to not correspond at all with my philosophy as an athlete and a human. We have quite different ideals it seems..

    Life Span of a racquet?

Words like "cheap guy" and the impression that playing with old rackets will spoil your reputation at your tennis club are symptoms of elitism.

Best way to start a stringjob?

Many have mentioned that the use of the starting clamp outside the frame can be, as you say, "destructive", damaging the racket or leading to early breakage of the strings. I have been practicing the yusuki method for many years and the above accusations have never occurred to me ...

Considering switch from Hyper -G for more power. Suggestions?

Signum Pro X-perience is a softer and livelier hyper-g on my opinion. Give it a try!

    String eater rackets

I play with a Phantom 100 and recently purchased a Prokennex Ki Q+ Tour Pro (315). A guy mentioned that the latter is a string eater because, apart from the open string patttern, the racket has its cross strings evenly divided over the whole head. So, I wondered what are, in general, the...

What are their characteristics? Open (drilling) patterns, big head sizes, vulnerable grommets (ports for instance). Anything else?

    Signum Pro Polaris

The german string manufacturer has introduced a new string. Power and feel are advertised as its main characteristics. It looks to me like x-perience and yellow jacket had a baby. Anyone had a chance to hit with it?

    Softer hybrid than FireWire Boost?

Square and triangular (like firewire) strings are quite stiff. So, I would replace firewire with a softer one, like hyper g soft (as mentioned above) or tier one black knight. I presonally use the signum pro experience/ghostwire combo and I am very satisfied.

    Prince Official - Racquets

    1. Around the same, although in the more recent offerings, prince's tend to be a bit larger. 2. Very decent. Not like Yonex but clearly ahead of wilson.

    ProKennex Appreciation Thread

I just acquired a Qtour (315)-2019 model. It was on a bargain and I could not resist after hearing the praise it gets. The stick feels like a cousin of a pro staff with a more muted feeling. It excels in comfort and it is very easy to manouver. I mostly enjoyed my one handed backhand. I felt it...

Was Pat Rafter a luckier Tim Henman?

Watching these two serve & volleyers from the past, I cannot say that Pat was such a superior player or he had a more complete game from Tim. In fact, I think that Henman had a better forehand and was equally good at the net. So, Pat went ont winning two slams and reaching two wimbledon finals...

    Prince Synergy - 18x18 pattern

Well, according to Tim, people were paying too much attention to this factor and often rejected frames without even demoing them. They also jumped to hasty conclusions that for example, a beast racket with power levels over 1000 would totally lack control and a phantom with numbers below 800...

Opinions on Babolat Jet Tere/Mach II shoes?

I play with jet mach ii clay court. Overall, it is a quality product in a reasonable price. They are very stable for their weight and offer good durability so far. I am usually hesitant to buy a tennis shoe that does not come from a traditional, well-respected running company (I have been an...
