Why was Federer incapable of beating Nadal at RG, unlike Djokovic?

Federer's problem was also between his ears tbh because his game per se was good enough to score a win or 2 against Nadal, even been in disadvantage with the matchup.Case in point Rome 2006, but the pressure got the better of him in the end.2006 and 2011 RG Finals were terrible missed...

Big 3 Grand Slam Titles by Difficulty

Thanks. So, as I suspected, Fed is very well placed at Wimbledon and the US Open and actually decent at the AO too :) Nadal is well above everyone at the French, but on the last place at the other 3 slams.Djokovic indeed shines at the AO, well above everyone. Fed detractors have done such a...

Big 3 Grand Slam Titles by Difficulty

Nobody receives anything extra for winning in a presuambly tougher draw and in the end all slams have the same value.TTW will still debate on who had it tougher and each of the posters in the debate will also be unbiased at the same time lol

    Djoko's stamina?

No wonder that COVID had no effect because Djokovic is fit and eats healthy.I dunno if any other tennis player has had that much care of his body as he did :D

How much of Federer's decline in 2008 was due to the height of opponents?

Then because of Tsonga and his height :D

How much of Federer's decline in 2008 was due to the height of opponents?

People rationalize evey Fed's loss, which is incredible. The difference at the slam level between 2005 and 2008 it's that Fed was edged in the Wimbledon Final but I mean, nobody can win them all.Fed went for 6 in a row that edition, unlike Nadal, who went only for the 5th title in a row at the...

The narrative would completely change if Djokovic won that US Open final

I don't know what's happening with Djokovic in the USO Finals.

How much of Federer's decline in 2008 was due to the height of opponents?

Not to mention that he was a mess vs the top 10.There were 3 or 4 tournaments where he played well, that including Wimbledon and the USO.

How much of Federer's decline in 2008 was due to the height of opponents?

I would say that the Indian Wells match vs Fish is the worst match I have ever seen Fed play, worse even than his match Vs Goffin at the YEC in 2017.It's been a while, but this is how I remember it :D

How much of Federer's decline in 2008 was due to the height of opponents?

I thought only Fed wins hypothetical matches no ? Nadal wasn't even guaranteed to reach the Final with that draw in the first place, just like he didn't in USO 2008.I also bet you and others would have given Nadal an hypothetical win at the AO 2017 had Federer won without facing him.

How much of Federer's decline in 2008 was due to the height of opponents?

Fed could have easily made 'the Fedslam' in 2009-2010, but he was busy being arrogant in the USO F. :D

How much of Federer's decline in 2008 was due to the height of opponents?

I won't give Nadal an hypothetical win over Federer at Wimbledon 2009.

Roger Federer: 'I'm always in advantage when I can S&V on fast court'

They slowed the AO even further in 2010 and the USO in 2011.Yep, right when Djokovic and Nadal were at their peak :D

Nadal is the most unlucky US Open Champ of all-time, won 4 titles, beat almost all the former champs (Djokovic, Cilic, Del Potro), but absent 4 times

Yet some have the audacity to claim that Fed was the one with the weak competition.Such a hypocrisy on this forum, it's incredible :D

Best Djokovic versus Federer hard court match?

This Fed on this particular match should be higher regarded when it comes to his pure level. It's remarcable that Fed at that point could hold on so well vs peak Djokovic and that on a slower USO than usual and with an 'obsolete' racket.Such a shame he didn't crossed the finish line :D

    Federer News

Absolutely and at the end of the day it's tough to play while continuing to struggle physically, that's not fun anymore.I mean, had his body been ok, well he could have played for as long as Ken Rosewall did, that if the passion would still be there :D

    Federer 2015 vs Djokovic 2021

To think that was the first time since 2004 when he failed to reach the SF at the AO.Definitely the worst AO of his career at the top level( not counting pre 2004 as he wasn't a contender back then); even in 2020 he reached the SF and that injured, no less :D

Federer still only one of Big 3 with winning record in finals at 3 of the 4 Grand Slams and has won most titles at 2 of the 4 Grand Slams

Other than USO 2011 and 2017, it's good that he failed to reach the final in those USO runs. Regarding AO 2005 well, you win some, you lose some :D

Federer still only one of Big 3 with winning record in finals at 3 of the 4 Grand Slams and has won most titles at 2 of the 4 Grand Slams

H2H it's just one stat and it cannot overshadow the achievements, especially in this case when the slam H2H sits virtually in 3 40-15s that Federer couldn't convert, that's how tiny the difference is.It's an arbitrary criterion, you choose a stat that suits your favorite player and you proclaim...

Djokovic looks spent and used up, we will see if he really is the equal of Federer or Nadal...

I can say that Djokovic has the least holes in his resume among the 3.His USO record it's maybe his only significant weak spot because of those many finals lost but other than that, he has shined at every big tournament there is :D
