WTA Finals relocated from Shenzhen to Guadalajara prompting withdrawal rumours around #1 Barty due to the altitude and other factors

Pressure-less balls?? Really? When I think of those, I think of the pressure-less balls used for ball machines. They don't bounce normally and are boulders in comparison to a regular ball. That does not sound ideal.

HELP - Needed Arm-Friendly-Poly that feels like OGSM White 16g

It's a very nice string, theres a thread on here about it with good reviews + some youtube channels have some reviews too. It's a syn gut with all sorts of fancy tech in it + it's quite a bit more slippery than OGSM.

HELP - Needed Arm-Friendly-Poly that feels like OGSM White 16g

Try the Gosen AK Pro CX. It's not a poly but it has got a lot more spin potential in a full bed compared to OGSM.

Help! Need durable non poly string!

How the hell do you pop a string with 45 minutes of hitting lol. You must be redlining the entire time, huge topspin and racquet head speed? That's pretty damn quick even for a professional.

    Leylah's ATP forehand!

I like it. It bears some similarities to JJ Wolfs forehand, just with a semi western grip and left handed.

Well I'll be damned, did not see this outcome!

US Open SF: Fernandez vs Sabalenka

Leylah needs to avoid Sabalenkas forehand like Nadal avoids Feds if she has any hope of winning this.

2021 US Open - WTA Official Thread

She always looks like this though. Big serve and relies on hitting clean groundies. Very straight legged. If she moved a bit better and put that extra10% in she'd have won a slam ages ago I think.

    Ash Barty Strings

Correct me if I am wrong, but its not a new setup. She used this setup before the Hawk/Gut. When she made the change to Hawk/Gut I thought she played so much better. She also got most of her recent success on that setup. Odd to see her swap back mid tournament as in the earlier rounds she...

2021 US Open R4: Novak Djokovic vs. Jenson Brooksby

Just seen a close up of Brooksby's racquet as his coach regripped it. His base grip is a mess, not lined up properly and full gaps exposing the bare pallet underneath. That'd drive me crazy!

I'm glad Krejikova won. I've not seen her ever be a dishonest or nasty person on court. I'd believe her when she says she was in pain, especially with something as specific as diaphragm. Happy to be proven wrong though if anyone can list some examples. Mugu on the other hand always gets like...

Not sure if it's been mentioned but Ash has ditched the poly/gut hybrid and gone back to full poly for this match and the last match as well. Strange to do so mid tournament. And call me crazy but I feel like she's playing worst since the swap!?

    2021 US Open - Men's Singles - General Discussion

People always say they chase the ratings with their match selections and what they broadcast... but seriously I cannot believe it. Most of the time they are showing the less exciting match or just talking smack. The presenters have no idea either. That Stephanie woman obviously has no clue about...

    Francis Tiafoe racquet specs?

You're spot on. The frame design in the throat is also a dead giveaway. The Pros are more square.

    "Where's the Next Andy Roddick"?

What commentators are you talking about? I was just talking about comparisons between Isner and Opelka in reply to ibbi, not against Roddick. If you watch that video and then watch a video of Opelka from this year or last, Isner moves so much better (way more natural, better footwork) than...

    "Where's the Next Andy Roddick"?

In my opinion at 24 years old, Isner moved 10x better than Opelka does at 24. The only thing Opelka has going for him over John is that ridiculous swat forehand of his, but I can't see that holding up over time.

Gut poly hybrid how long does tension hold?

I've used it full bed, as mains with poly cross and as crosses with gut mains. It's impressed me in every situation. Closest thing to real gut I have found.

Gut poly hybrid how long does tension hold?

I would avoid using RPM Blast as it is a shaped poly and will saw through the gut mains quickly. Stick to a round poly, or a Luxilon Rough poly if you absolutely have to have texture and still want longevity. Luxilon rough is more like a smooth wave and won't saw through gut.

Gut poly hybrid how long does tension hold?

Don't string the crosses higher, it will just make it uncomfortable and it will still lose tension anyway. I've experimented with gut/poly a lot of over the years. I am currently using either Babolat Gut or Klip Gut mains with Weiss Cannon Silverstring crosses. I use Gosen AK Pro CX instead...

    Forehand: ,,accelerate with the hand"

I think what some other posters have mentioned about it being a mental que to accelerate with the hand makes sense to me. If you take it quite literally and only accelerate with the hand then I believe most of the kinetic chain is being overlooked and the shot becomes way to wristy.

    Forehand: ,,accelerate with the hand"

Look up some youtube videos of the modern atp forehand. Most are based on a 2-1-2 sort of pattern. It's what I teach my students. Takeback: (2) Hands on the takeback, keep off-hand on throat of racquet until your torso is coiled. Hit: (1) Hand obviously Follow through: Catch throat of...

Are all Hotmelt frames a sticky mess?!?

I resprayed a hotmelt 200g years ago for a bit of fun. To remove the gummy mess which I also had I initially used bug&tar remover which was made for cleaning cars. Worked really well. I ended up paint stripping the whole thing in the end though.
