How is the Solinco Pro Stacked

It's hard for me to say because I don't break strings and I used them only in hybrids. If I were to guess, I'd go with Spiral Flex for durability because it has aramid fibers in its construction. With nylon based strings it's easy to gain power by stringing them one or two pounds lower.

How is the Solinco Pro Stacked

At the 2 places I shop for Pro Stacked it is only $4.10. It's a very nice string. It's cushioned like Sweet and not as stiff as Spiral Flex. It has a higher build quality and finish than either. I looked elsewhere because I was looking for a reel, but I may go back to Pro Stacked for hybrids.

    Lube 4 (co)Poly? Coconut Oil??

Using lubrication and/or very slippery strings makes the string bed feel more muted. Even more so for a thicker lubricant like silicone.

    Why don’t I like gut?

Something to try that might reduce the cost for you and plays similar to natural gut is Monogut ZX 1.27/Tecnifibre Multifeel 1.30 @a -3 lb. tension differential. I strung my signature frame @55/52 and it came out great. The black Multifeel is much smoother than the natural one. Give the ZX a...

    Best Strings For A Hipster

If you want to lead them into your conversation, start with a brand they've heard of then tell them all about the string in their lineup that they haven't heard of yet. Luxilon Element

Which cheap strings should I try?

A poly that is cheap by the reel ($39.70) is Pro's Pro Black Force. It's slick for good spin, but it's also elastic for comfort compared to other polys. I like the 1.14mm, but it comes in other gauges. You can also buy it by the set ($6.70), but by the set you reach the reel price very quickly.

Which cheap strings should I try?

Similar to Velocity is Genesis Thunder Blast. But TB has more power. Velocity probably has longer tension maintenance than TB.

    Poly/multi launch angle?

A notched and locked string bed is my best bet? I think I'll move on to the next strings.

    Summary of the Head multis?

Velocity MLT 1.30 feels nice, but it plays very low powered. The 1.25 has gotten ratings for a little more power. I'll have to try that one out soon.

    Poly/multi launch angle?

I have the racquet in my signature strung with Tour Bite Soft 1.20/Genesis Thunder Blast 1.30 @48/52. The launch angle is a little high on it. If the LA were a little low that would not present a problem for me as it's easier to lift the ball a little more. My question is whether I should just...

This String/Stringbed Is For Life, Not Just For Christmas .....

When we say the string is for life, are we talking about the life of the racquet that it plays so well in?

This question calls to mind, if I can name my all-time favorite string setup, then why aren't I using it?

Head Lynx Tour Suggestion/Hybrid setup recommendations needed

For full court play I recommend poly/multi. It has a lower launch angle, which it seems you're going for. Tension the strings at a +4 lb differential, softer string tighter. Also you don't have to shell out for Kirsch TM for use in a cross. Pro's Pro Gutex Ultra and Genesis Thunder Blast are...

What’s wrong with the string job!!?

Here's a shot in the dark. If he places the string in the gripper very consistently every time, perhaps he wore out part of the gripper, while using the diablo. Then without the diablo maybe he's getting a lot more friction on the string from another part of the gripper jaws. And maybe he needs...

What’s wrong with the string job!!?

A diablo is a wheel on the tensioner that guides the string into the gripper. It brings the string to the right height for the gripper. It's a part on the tensioner that helps the tensioner last longer and gives your string beds a little better consistency. I'm glad you're getting better results...

What’s wrong with the string job!!?

My WISE 2086 can be set in CP or LO. I personally haven't used the LO mode. A stringing professional I used to go to had a Prince Neos. He did a nice job on my full multi beds.

What’s wrong with the string job!!?

I think you'll have to have your racquets done by your old stringer at your old tension or your new stringer at a new, undetermined tension. Better yet, have all of your racquets done by your coach all the time and figure out what your new tension is (trial and error). Something that could be...

    String movement with natural gut...

I think the problem is that whoever strung it didn't prep the grommets before installing the natural gut. I would have used a cheap synthetic to string it at a higher tension first. This would pull the grommets into the frame, where they need to be. Then I would cut out the synthetic and string...

    Pop

Go down a lb. on your tension setting until you pick up stringing speed. If this lower tension turns out to be better for you, that's okay too. When I switched from a drop weight to a WISE electronic tensioner, I found I was happier going down a lb. I still might like going down another 1/2...

Strings and their weight - an observation

If you want to be able to keep your racquets matched easily, keep a little extra weight on them. That way it will be easy to add or subtract whatever amount you need to after a racquet is strung. It's pretty easy to get used to a couple extra grams on a regular basis, as long as the racquets are...

The new stringer may be tensioning the strings tighter. Or your learning curve on the new machine could be slowing you down, making the strings tighter. The weather during the cold months could have made your strings and the balls a lot more firm. I don't think the problem is string looseness...

I like hybrids, but Ialso like the UKRSA ATM 1-piece stringing pattern. Which takes precedence?

I think the problem is that I've been going on results and getting whatever strings and using whatever pattern seemed appropriate at the time. Now I think I can split the field by finding one cross string that will also serve me well in an ATW pattern. The only one I can think of is PP Gutex...

I like hybrids, but Ialso like the UKRSA ATM 1-piece stringing pattern. Which takes precedence?

I've tested several hybrids that I've really liked. But I also really like a one piece of some multis. I can be happy with an inexpensive multi like Alpha Gut 2000, but I can drive the price down low with a mid or low price poly and an under $10/pack multi. I recently poked my head above my...

How do you know when to change strings?

10 hours is what I'd expect from a string from the Lynx line. They're not bad, they play great for an average amount of time. It's the great performance that has made them popular. There are other strings that have a reputation for longevity, but they don't play as nice as the Lynx strings. Look...

Pro's Pro packing of sets -- home printed label? Cut from a reel to sell as a set?

I like Cyberpower a lot too. And it doesn't bother me at all to receive it in a plastic sleeve. I also got Red Devil in the tidy circular case, which was nice. But in the end I would like PP to do whatever costs me the least without decreasing the product's quality when it shows up at my door.

Try Gutex Ultra 1.30 crosses with your Black Force 1.19 mains. Try 47/51 on your racquet.

Luxilon 4g Soft in Crosses broke

Obviously, there's only so much you can do. I recommend picking up a pair of toe nail clippers for your bag. And I'm not comparing a string snapping to installing new crosses, 2-point vs. 6-point. A string snapping was added to your argument from the left side.

Luxilon 4g Soft in Crosses broke

Picture a cross string being removed on a 6-point mount machine. The side brackets counter the widening of the hoop right there. On a 2-point mount, those forces twist the frame on the way to the mounts. Then at the mounts the forces have become angular and twisting. With side brackets those...
