How do you stop pulling off of heavy topspin shots without much pace?

I did that and beat him that way. What concerned me was making so many unforced errors off these no pace shots.

How do you stop pulling off of heavy topspin shots without much pace?

I was playing with someone that hits a flatter ball and hitting great. Then I started playing this guy that doesn't hit very hard, but he hits with a ton of topspin with very little on it. His shots were deep, but not moonballs. For some reason I started out strong but then started pulling off...

How should I workout for recovery after tough points?

Haven't been in a real match situation yet, but in practicing it seems to have helped. I will be playing more coming up so I'll let you know!

Why do people scream during pro matches as players fun for drop shots or hit overheads?

In all the years I've been playing and watching tennis at parks and clubs I've never seen anyone scream like they just witnessed a murder as someone runs for a drop shot or moves back to hit a lob. How come when I watch pro matches on TV or go live events people in the crowd will start screaming...

How should I workout for recovery after tough points?

I don't really do any strength training for my legs since I'm playing tennis 3+ times a week. Guess I could incorporate that as well. There is a workout with legs and back (dumbells and pullups) that I might try again

How should I workout for recovery after tough points?

That might be it. He says he coached someone who was in good shape but would be exhausted since she didn't breathe during the point.

How should I workout for recovery after tough points?

That looks like what I need. Especially with changing direction after sprinting This morning I did a HIIT workout and it gave me the same feeling I get after one of those points. Out of breath and also feeling a bit dizzy. So I guess that's good training for tennis. What I did was like 20...

How should I workout for recovery after tough points?

I can play hitting cross court or "regular" 2 or 3 shot rallies for a while. What gets me are the long points where I'm sprinting up for a drop shot and then running back for a lob or hitting a shot on the full stretch and then racing to cover a few more shots. I'm perfectly fine finishing those...

Post your favourite video game soundtracks

I played the original growing up, then Zelda 2, some of the SNES one and then the N64 ones (which I didn't like that much) and am currently playing BOTW on the Nintendo Switch. If you think of the one you couldn't solve let me know

How can I improve my lob ROS for doubles?

By "swing" I just meant the technique for hitting it. I am doing more of a volley motion off these fast serves but rarely hit a good lob. It's just frustrating to see the opposing net player so close and not be able to lob him. If the serve is slow enough I can definitely attack it or lob off...

How can I improve my lob ROS for doubles?

Lately I've noticed more server's partners crowding the net. This is especially true when the server has a big serve. Naturally the way to counter this is with a lob, but my lob off a serve where I'm reaching or struggling to get back isn't very good. A lot of times I'll miss it wide, which I...

Opinion on Public Park Tennis Courts re: Time limits

The rule says "Please Limit Play to One Hour When Others Are Waiting." So I would interpret that to mean you can play as long as you want as long as no one is waiting for a court. If someone comes and wants to use the court don't play more than 1 hour.

Does Anyone Else Find Matches Boring (but not tennis)?

I feel the same way. For me it's a lot more fun to play games from the baseline or start the point with a feed at a clinic than dealing with serves and returns and all the downtime between points. I put off playing sets and matches for years since I didn't enjoy it. I still don't like it as much...

Should your legs still be sore a few days after cramping?

Would recovery be similar to a workout then? Should I consider a protein bar or muscle milk or something like that? I wanted to play again early next week. I think so. I play in the sun a few times a week and take a Vitamin D pill. I sweat a tremendous amount and have had problems with cramps...

Should your legs still be sore a few days after cramping?

My legs cramped after a hard match during the week, but it didn't cramp that bad and went away after 5 minutes or so. The next few days I did yoga, Pilates and used a foam roller and felt fine. The day before I was going to play this weekend I didn't do anything. When I played I was moving...

How do you have a left hand dominant 2H BH without collapsing right side?

By "collapse the right side" I mean what you can see in the video link where the right arm is lower and doesn't move with the left and the left chest is up higher. Pause the video the first time he hits where I put the link and you can see it. My arm structure is bent/bent,

Do you like to play against better players?

I really prefer to play against better players. Especially in a tournament if I know I'm "supposed to lose". That make me feel so much more comfortable to play loose and also not feel guilty about trying different things and I don't care so much if I miss a shot or don't do well. There's someone...

How do you have a left hand dominant 2H BH without collapsing right side?

Agree that his explanation about how to fix my issue was not the best, but I was so happy to see a video that showed what I'm doing wrong. Especially when he mentioned about tightening the chest. I played someone who hit a lot of moonballs and I pulled a chest muscle trying to hit it. I tried...

How do you have a left hand dominant 2H BH without collapsing right side?

The example in this video of what NOT to do looks almost exactly like my 2H BH when I'm trying hard to use the left arm. My shots will fall down and to the right. He says to fix that you need to move/extend both arms at the same speed and it's like 80/20 left vs right arm. Any other tips...

How do you adjust your 2H BH swing when jammed?

I noticed that the ROS is indeed the most common time when I get jammed. Just happened on match point after a marathon game and I was rather upset I couldn't get the return in play.
  21. E

How do you adjust your 2H BH swing when jammed?

Maybe that's the difference. I am pretty good on the FH at improvising with my arms, but the 2H BH is very robotic. What about on the return of serve? For example if you're in close expecting an easy 2nd and they throw in a good kick that jams you.
  22. E

How do you adjust your 2H BH swing when jammed?

Obviously you don't want to get jammed, but on my FH I can still hit a decent shot from that position. On my 2H BH if get jammed I miss almost every shot and can't put anything on it. This is especially problematic on clay with bad bounces and ROS when I don't have time

    Tennis video games?

I've been enjoying Mario Tennis on the Switch, but that's obviously not on the Xbox. So I can't help you there. I played an old Xbox tennis game years ago that was fun but I don't remember what it was called.

Double handed backhand players: Do you extend the bottom arm as well as the top arm after contact?

Sometimes when I get tight or too focused on the left arm only my right upper arm stop at contact and blocking my follow through. So I'm trying to work on keeping it relaxed to let both arms go through with the left arm as the boss.

Double handed backhand players: Do you extend the bottom arm as well as the top arm after contact?

If you don't extend it does that mean you just stop it? It still has to continue flowing through the shot, right?

    Tournament sportsmanship

90% of my league matches are like this. Maybe 8% have some disputed line calls but are resolved amicably. 1% have some heated arguments and another 1% are with people that are jerks and/or obvious cheaters.

When Did "Down Together Up Together" Go Out The Window?

When I first learned to serve I was taught "down together, up together, scratch your back, serve". I had that drilled into my head and used to try to do that, but it just doesn't seem to work as people have noted. So much advice and instruction I've been given seems to be wrong.

Has anyone found drivers assist that keep you in your lane or steer/brake for you useful?

I like the blind spot monitor and can see the lane assist being helpful if you're drowsy. I'd put a blind spot monitor on my car if I could retrofit it just to have it as a backup (I would still look and not rely on it) What I'm wondering about are the ones where you're supposed to let the car...

F9 = The Benoit Paire of Movies

You mean it's not realistic to take your car into space as long as you put a space suit on and strap a rocket to it? How about that electromagnet? I thought it was a fun movie!

Has anyone found drivers assist that keep you in your lane or steer/brake for you useful?

I borrowed a friends car and tried out one of these systems that's supposed to keep you in your lane and slow down and speed up to keep you at a preset speed on the highway. To me this is terrifying! Like asking a teenager you're not sure about to handle these functions for you while you monitor...
