Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

I string my X-1 at 62 lbs in my APDC. Should I go 65 with the VS gut?

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

Thanks for the excellent points. I'm really looking forward to trying these strings. If they last twice as long, including holding tension, then they're not really more expensive, are they...

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

I normally restring every couple of months or so with my multi. Should I restring the Gut sooner or will it last longer? Will the need to restring show up as fraying, noticeable tension loss, or what??

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

Great. Thanks to all -- I'm feeling OK now about just going for it with my normal, careful stringing technique. Really looking forward to trying the VS Gut to see what all the love is about.

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

Thanks! Drakulie -- tips please?? I looked searched for the Global Gut thread, but can't get it narrowed down enough to find the one you're referring to.

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

Good to know I don't have to worry about prestretching. Should I go a few pounds higher? I'm not a string breaker -- how long should I expect this string to last/hold good tension compared to my normal X-1 biphase?

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

I'm very careful when stringing. My concerns are more over pre-stretching, abrasion, etc. that I haven't had to deal with in the past.

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

Gamma X-2 is my preferred, but I also have an Alpha Pioneer III.

Chicken to string my Babolat VS Gut

I do my own stringing. Normally use, and love, Tecnifibre X-1 Biphase 16 ga.. When Babolat screwed up a warranty shoe situation on me, they offered me some string as compensation. I sheepishly said "how about some VS Gut?" To my pleasant surprise, the obliged. So, I've restrung twice with X-1...

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

That'd be great! I have a full gym, elliptical and roman chair in my basement workout room. A tennis specific workout would be awesome!

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

That's what I tried first -- just clicking on your name and going to public profile. All is shows me there is the option to add/remove from buddy list and to search for your other posts. No e-mail or pm buttons. Wonder if I've got something configured oddly, or if it's an obscure Vista thing...

Are these strings OK for me?

I experimented a good bit with my APDC and found that I really liked it strung with Tecnifbre X-1 Biphase 16ga at around 61-62 lbs. Might give that a try.

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

Good idea. I have also been thinking, though, that it might be a good idea to move towards the thinner frame. Probably just overthinking, but seems like it would be a good idea to have the frame more low profile for slices and drops.

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

Thanks. That is my rationale exactly, and what I experienced with limited demo time so far. I guess my strokes are reasonable enough already that I can hit it pretty well the vast majority of the time. The occasional dud is a good reminder to stay conscious of technique -- as you say. I think...

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

help with pm I feel like an idiot, but I can't seem to find how to send a pm. I did a FAQ search and it talked about buttons and such, using control panel, etc., but I'm not seeing that stuff anywhere. A little help??

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

Today I demo'd this racquet pretty extensively -- over an hour of play both just hitting around and in a full set with a friend who is a solid player. It was about a million degrees here in Atlanta, and I did start to notice not playing quite as well as I got a little fatigued. Hard to tell if...

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

I don't do much off court -- tennis 3-4 times/wk, including a couple of singles matches, has become my workout. I'd like to put in some weight lifting... Overall, though, I'd say I'm in pretty well above average shape for someone who doesn't have a true exercise regimen. I'll find out the...

Would a "players" racquet help my 3.5 game evolve?

I picked up tennis about 3 yrs ago. Been working pretty hard at improving the last couple of years. I'd say I'm a pretty good all-court player. Good wheels. Pretty athletic & strong. Strokes fundamentally sound, but still developing. I'm 44 yrs old. Playing at 3.5 level now. So, I've really...

    Tennis Trade Shows??

Thanks nyc. I appreciate your interest and the dialogue. Helps keep the fire burning. I do believe that, barring any major surprises, we're onto something that will "matter" in the tennis market (ie, won't just be an obscure/novel/ultra-niche item). Hope to catch up with you again someday...

    Tennis Trade Shows??

We actually have the design/development talent in-house to do this soup to nuts. Solid experience in that area. I do, however, like to barter wherever I can and generally get as much accomplished with as little cash as is humanly possible. I also have an MBA and a good bit of hands-on new...

    Tennis Trade Shows??

Good stuff there, nyc. Thanks. So far we have completed a few rounds of technological proof-of-concept. That is, the core components that will make or break the design have been refined to the point where it is no longer in question whether we can do what we want to do, including meeting...

    Tennis Trade Shows??

I'd really like to share some info and get some feedback here. Unfortunately that would compromise the business opportunity in a few substantial ways. Sorry for maybe coming across as a tease. I look forward to letting the cat out of the bag in the coming months.

    Tennis Trade Shows??

Yeah, I've actually done that before with another consumer product I invented, produced and distributed nationwide. I'm just used to there being trade shows to create buzz prior to looking for licensing or sale deals. Looks like this will be a little different.

Bummer. I woulda thought that there would be an annual show or two, even if a part of a larger sporting goods show.

    Tennis Trade Shows??

I am working on an innovative new tennis machine. As part of my marketing strategy I would like to exhibit the product at a major trade show or two, preferably tennis-specific. My quick Google search efforts are coming up surprisingly empty. Does anyone know what are the major shows each year?

New Alpha Pioneer III -- need nylon parts

Gonna contact Mark today. Yeah, it's a little older machine -- but is pretty darn nice. An absolute brick **** house. I have really enjoyed learning on my Gamma X-2 the last couple of months, but wanted to upgrade to fixed clamps. 6 pt mounting and linear pull were bonuses. I bought this...

New Alpha Pioneer III -- need nylon parts

Machine is in great shape, but didn't come with all the nylon parts for head and throat support. Don't have the ones with the little lip/shelf that racquet apparently rests on. Does anyone know if these are still available through Alpha or Gamma? If not, I can fab them myself. Also would...
