    CRITICIZE MY SLICE

From the position you were in, you were correct about the ball being too low. From that position you limit yourself to either a popping the ball up (no good), or hitting a drop shot, which is the better option albeit harder to execute. Normally when I slice I like the contact point to be...

    Nakashima and Brooksby

Yes. That is what Brad Gilbert said during the match last night.

    Nakashima and Brooksby

If Roddick says he will help Brooksby improve his serve, why wouldn't he take him up on that? He is young and has time to improve. If he was in his mid 30's and near the end of his professional career that might be a different situation.

Give us a blazing fast indoor hardcourt!

True. Still I believe it would favor the big servers and tall players. The rate of tiebreakers would certainly go up.

Give us a blazing fast indoor hardcourt!

Well one thing is for sure. Big servers would rise up the rankings (Opelka, Isner, etc.)

    2021 US Open - Men's Singles - General Discussion

Evans was impressive in the last 3 sets. He only had 8 unforced errors the whole match. Popyrin would have really earned it if he had won.

    2021 US Open - Men's Singles - General Discussion

The announcers just said that Evans has only 8 unforced errors in almost 5 sets. Wow. That means that Popyrin has had to pretty much hit winners the whole match. Impressive!

How Has Your Game Changed as You’ve Gotten Older?

Yeah similarly I hit much flatter than I use to. My game is all about taking time away from my opponent and in my late 40's I don't have a heavy enough ball to spin my opponent off the court. A side benefit is that I don't break strings frequently like I used to.

How Has Your Game Changed as You’ve Gotten Older?

I played almost exclusively serve and volley in my youth and through my 20's. Today I play more of an all court game (still aggressive) and am selective on S&V. My hands and net game are better now than when I was younger and my lob is improved. I don't serve as hard but am smarter with...

I'm watching the replay right now. Absolutely ridiculous call after Johnson served an ace and made him re-serve. I love Stevie's response to the chair "Just wait until I get aced the next time". And then goes on to ace him twice in a row!

2021 WTA Western & Southern Open Cincinnati

Just watched highlights of Teichmann's win over Pliskova. Impressed with her all court game. Nice to see a player willing to come into the net and play solid up there. I still think she will have her hands full in the final vs. Barty.

    4.5 Men's 18&over Nationals - Surprise, Arizona

Yeah it looks like they won a 3-2 match at Areas/State this past weekend. I'm guessing they still need to advance through sectionals to get to nationals.

    Pickleball is spreading

Not sure about the guys, but the one gal playing in the video posted previously is only 14, so I highly doubt she played on the WTA tour. So she is like the Hingis or Capriati of PB.

Federer Still Holds The Advantage Across Five Titles That Matter Most

I'm a huge Fed fan, but at the end of the day Djokovic will be better than him as well as Nadal. Of course part of the equation includes staying injury free or only having minor injuries and Djoker has had a little better luck in that cateogry. All 3 players have had incredible careers. No...
