Game Changer Racquets (for your game)

Apd gen 2. Before that I didn’t play tennis. And yes all the angells have their own feel. I really liked the k7 though. I thought it would have been ‘the one’.

Game Changer Racquets (for your game)

I really enjoy the Angell tc97 18/20. I went from a pure drive to pure control for tennis elbow reasons, but I never really liked the pure control on serves. The EZONE 98 range is better in this regard, but way to muted imo. I then tried some Angells; first the tc95 in both string patterns, then...

Game Changer Racquets (for your game)

I used to use a pure drive plus in college but got mad tennis elbow from it. I want to give it a go once again but with a higher recoil weight to see how it plays.

What's your setup with the 2018 pure drive? Any lead?

    Best Yonex Ezone?

I liked the feel better on serve personally.

I ended up adding 12 grams at noon to my k7s and for some reason they play way differently than angell's other frames. The TC line has a lot more authority. Does anyone know why?

That's higher swingweight numbers for the k7 red than what I got. I requested a matched pair and got 288 & 289.

    Best Yonex Ezone?

I liked the 2018 ezone 98 over the ezone dr. That seems to be an unpopular opinion though.

Would switching to a lower stiffness racket get rid of my tendon issues?

Would switching to a lower stiffness racket get rid of my tendon issues? Maybe. I would also look at recoil weight as well. All things being equal, a higher recoil weight will be more stable and comfortable.

What old model (<10 years) would be released today and sell like crazy?

Aero pro drive or pure drive originals would probably sell like hot cakes. Babalot soft drive also.

    Wilson Ultra Tour (Monfils)

Wow that is atrocious. I wouldn’t even buy them if I couldn’t have them sifted through to find some that are somewhat similar in swingweight, but that’s me.

    Wilson Ultra Tour (Monfils)

Thank you. Do you have an idea as to what the target unstrung swing weight of the ultra tour is? On paper it looks like it would be around 290.

    Wilson Ultra Tour (Monfils)

I'm seeing that the ultra tour is super cheap right now online. I have one Angell TC97 18x20 and love it. How similar are they? Is it worth it to buy another tc97 or buy stock up on ultra tours?

Does anyone have experience with the angell tc2 backpack? What I want to know is if the zippers are like every other tennis backpack and fall down with the racquet handles sticking out during transportation.

My first angell was the tc95 18x20 but now I'm swinging a 97 18x20. Both are similar in terms of performance. The main difference is probably the way they flex and beam shape. 95 feels stiffer in the hoop and 97 is stiffer in the throat. Both are great frames. If anything 97 may have a tad more...

Looking to replace my Babolat Pure Drive.

Yes, but no. Adding weight obviously increases the overall weight of a racket. I'm talking about recoil weight. Recoil weight is essentially a term for how stable a frame is on contact. To increase recoil weight, one must add weight at the poles of a racket while maintaining a decent balance...

Looking to replace my Babolat Pure Drive.

@dman34 Have you considered adding some weight to the tip and the handle of the pure drive to increase recoil weight and make it more comfortable?

    Better Feel Blade?

I increased recoil weight on mine tremendously.

    Better Feel Blade?

310/315. I added very little to the handle. I forget how much. I think it was 5 grams-ish?
  23. Prince Vegeta

    Better Feel Blade?

I added 10 grams of lead at 12 to my tc97 and it has massive amounts of power. I like a high unstrung swingweight though.
  24. Prince Vegeta

    Better Feel Blade?

If that’s the case then yeah you may want to try another racquet. All of them have their own feel. Try the angell tc97 18/20. It’s foam filled and has a very raw feel. It’s super addictive. I’d try to pick one up used for cheap if you can.
  25. Prince Vegeta

    Better Feel Blade?

A new racquet isn’t necessarily going to help. The ‘15 blade is highly respected. If you’re tired after an hour then work on your fitness. The blade isn’t a super high spec for a racquet in stock form. How are you struggling with the feel when you hit the ball?
  26. Prince Vegeta

Perks of adding lead tape to racquet?

I wouldn’t add weight to 3 & 9 first. The 2019 pure aero has a decently high twistweight stock form (torsional stability; the feel of the racquet not twisting in your hands). If you want more pop and depth try adding a few grams of lead at high noon first. Don’t add more than 3 or so grams at a...

It's now on the Yonex Website! VCORE Pro EMERALD

The article in the link specifically states that Stan the man will be using the new Vcore Pro in preparation for the U.S. Open at the Rogers Cup. I'm a skeptic and I'm going to assume it will just be a pj, but that's a bold statement from Yonex to say he will be using it.

Like I said, k7 is more muted kind of comfort whereas tc97 is more crisp and has a foam filled thwack to it. Both are insanely comfortable. Spin is fine with both. I don’t have any issues with spin my 18/20 tc97, but I have fast, long, aggressive strokes
