    Babolat Pure Aero 2019

So... After hitting one hour with the new PA Tour, here are my subjective thoughts. My leaded 2013 APD is 331 grams, 32.4 balance, 319 SW. As I mentioned above the weight and balance of my PA Tour demo are EXACTLY the same, except the SW was 329. I string really low. 43 lbs with Weiss Cannon...

    Babolat Pure Aero 2019

On Thursday, I’m hitting with a2019 PA Tour that has the exact static weight and balance as my leaded 2013 APD. The swing weight is 10 pits heavier and I’m looking forward to trying it out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

2019 PA Tour question for Chris

Hi Chris, I’m wondering if you’ve hit with the PA Tour and wanted your impressions. My current 2013 APD is tail weighted to only 4 grams less than the tour, so I don’t think it will be a huge difference. If you have played with it, I’d especially to get your impressions about how it serves. (And...

    Tennis Warehouse Playtest: Wilson Clash

I really like Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable 17L. Even softer Than the Tour Bite Soft with a ton of spin. I gradually lowered the tension in my 2013 APD and I now string @ 43lbs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Shoes with great Heel Cushioning?

My Court FFs are longer than my Nike Vapors, even though they are 1/2 size smaller. And they have more room in the toe box while totally locking in my heel. I almost went with the larger size because they both feel good on, but I’m very happy that I went down 1/2. For what it’s worth, I’ve also...

best tennis bag - backpack style?

I don’t own this. I just saw that frames can be stored at an angle when I watched Michelle’s TW video. I have a Wilson Countervail backpack, but I use my 20 year old Head bag in the rain. I’m in New York City and even just going from my apartment to the subway and out of the subway to an indoor...

best tennis bag - backpack style?

And for what it’s worth, the racquets can be stored at an angle, so the handles don’t hit you in the back of the helmet when biking to the courts. (As I do[emoji4]). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Asics Shoes - Which Model?

I’d suggest going down 1/2 size with the court FFs and get a shoehorn. That’s what worked for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I love my SS 2s. (Clay version)... That being said, the Court FFs are by far, for me[emoji4], the best tennis shoes I’ve ever worn. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    why such SMALL grips?

You'll get varying opinions on the forum about grip size that are all valid for each player. The trend has been towards smaller grips because they allow the wrist to generate more spin. (You'll get arguments about this also ). For me, I've gone down from 4 and 1/2 to 4 and 1/4 and much prefer...

    About one handed backhand racquet

It does all come down to personal taste and what frame works with the rest of your game. Once you get the technique right, I think you can use most frames. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Want a longer life? Play tennis

Many years ago as my club’s singles champ, I was paired the next year with the oldest woman in the club for the mixed doubles tournament. She was 94. At one point, she served a fault and started complaining. I called time out, went over to her and said... Fanny, you’re 94 years old and playing...

Wilson Shock Shield vs Babolat Xcel Gel

Wilson Shock Shield works well for me. Head Hydrosorb comfort is also good. The Wilson is 1 mm thicker but smoother. I don’t use a dampener. Chicago Jack has a thread with every grip’s weight and thickness. Wilson SS is 2.1mm, Head 2.0 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Shoes with great Heel Cushioning?

Having snapped My Achilles’ Tendon, I just know from personal experience that a higher heel is better in terms of keeping tension off. When you have reattachment surgery, your foot is in a cast, pointing down. After six weeks (when I had the surgery) the cast is removed and the doctor sees if...

    Shoes with great Heel Cushioning?

I’m not connecting shoes to my Achilles rupture. In fact, shoes have absolutely nothing to do with it. What I’m saying is that cushioning makes a difference. I agree that heel fit is important. I need a shoehorn to get my FFs on. Once my feet are in them, they’re nicely locked in. Flexibility...

pro staff, the black one, vs pure drive

It’s not just you. Of course, opinions vary, but I found the PA exactly as you do. Poor control and no feel but it does pulverize the ball. I went back to my 2013 APDs which I love and play great with. You might want to look at the new Pure Aero. Chris from TW says it’s more like the 2013 APD...

    Shoes with great Heel Cushioning?

I ruptured my achilles tendon a long time ago and for me, I find the Asics Court FFs to be great. Better than the Nike Vapors, better than my Asics SS2s. I tried on some basketball shoes and none of them felt as good as the FFs. Granted, I didn't play in them...

    Babolat Pure Aero 2019

For me, after experimenting with lots of lead placement, I now tail weight my 2013 APDs with around 5 - 7.5 grams, (matching the different frames) bringing them up to 331 grams (11.67 ounces), 6 pts HL, with a swing weight of 317. I use Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable 17L (It's thicker than advertised)...
