What is YOUR string of the year?

Volkl Cyclone 19G. Seems like it would break so fast. Nice soft playing..super spin string. Does not play at all like the 16 or 17 version. $117.00 reel..

Silver 7 Tour user tries Black 7

The BHS 16G is a great round sliver / grey poly for the price compared to ALU Power. The BHS 16G is pretty stable and plays quite firm for the 1st couple of hours and then the feel and power really get nice. The spin is not going to be the 7 Tour level but is also pretty good for a round...

Silver 7 Tour user tries Black 7

Great thread. Many have reported the lack of bandwidth with the BHB7 17G.. as it gets a bit launchy after a much shorter time than BHS 7 Tour. Both are really nice strings. I found the 16G version of BHB7 to be a bit more stable than the 17G..as you might expect. The 17G and 18G work very...

    String setup for 42 degrees f, 6 Degrees c?

I would go down 10 percent and / or use the same string .. but thinner.. softer if possible. I play in WNY.. so I know about playing outside in cold conditions. Spring and late fall are really cold. The boys tennis season ..we start playing outside as soon as the snow is gone. So some...

Tourna Big Hitter Silver: More spin that RPM, Hyper G, or Tourbite

Try the Big Hitter Silver 17G .. non Tour. More free power and a bit softer for sure. Spin is very good for a round poly

Tourna Big Hitter Silver: More spin that RPM, Hyper G, or Tourbite

The hard core ALU Power folks on here will not agree. Nothing better than ALU Power.. heard it many.. many times.

Tourna Big Hitter Silver: More spin that RPM, Hyper G, or Tourbite

Has a nice following here for the Tour 7. I love it.. it can be a bit firm. So much written about these strings over the year. Yes.. their marketing is a mess.

Tourna Big Hitter Silver: More spin that RPM, Hyper G, or Tourbite

Been saying this for years and years.. One of the best price / performers on the market. I always have a reel... Using a reel... a full bed is about $4.25 a string job. Beat that.

    Lone Coach needs help

Hey IA: Been away for sometime. I will send you an update soon. It is great fun to help as an assistant coach. Depending in what state you live and the school district you are trying to offer your help to, the hoops you need to jump through can be a bit much. NY State is one as one...

    Pickleball is spreading

Yes.. there are many lawn chairs and coolers to be sure around the PB courts. Would someone really buy PB shoes and PB clothing? I get the bags.. as they are designed for PB rackets. One the other hand.. a standard Walmart backpack would. PB does have a place for sure, just not with me...

Your point is? I know what the article says. I am saying... I would rather play tennis. If you play PB as your main exercise, you might as well play cornhole or darts. Have a good one.

    Pickleball is spreading

They can't cover the tennis court so they play PB. PB is quicker and requires short quick adjustments... which older players try to do and sometimes fall over. Have seen it and my doctor reported it to me.. Just my 2 cents. On the other hand.. I have seen PB played where no one really...

    Pickleball is spreading

We are very lucky in our area. Many towns have built dedicated courts so the crowds gather and the talking is loud but they seem not to care. Lots of social interaction. My personal story about PB is that I have some (HA..HA) many injuries. In my case PB is more potentially more...

    Pickleball is spreading

We have many courts in our area. The lawn chairs and coolers also. While I am not personally a big fan of the game, I see it really works for the senior population (which I am one now) to maintain wonderful social contact with others and does provide some movement and exercise. If you...

    Babolat RPM power

There are so many outstanding strings on the market these days at very competitive prices. Not sure why anyone would pay retail for any Babolat string. The only exception are folks that make a living playing tennis.

How much do you typically pay for a string job with your own string?

I hear ya!!! In the old days... they would have called it "pin money". Any money I make from stringing just goes into a box.. used for all sorts of items at home. Of course to buy more string, grips and overgrips.
