Serena and Sakkari match highlights! Try to get the full match too!

I agree. Also, pressure gets a lot more intense in a 3rd set as well and she hasn’t handled that well the past few years. So she needs to put everyone away in straight sets.

Serena and Sakkari match highlights! Try to get the full match too!

Just saw her post match interview. She said losing to Sakkari was “like dating a guy who sucks and you don’t know why you just don’t get rid of him”. She also said she should have won the match. However she was close to losing 6-0 in the third so I’m not sure how she sees it that way.

Serena and Sakkari match highlights! Try to get the full match too!

Serena looked really slow in the highlights. She’s not going to win a Slam in that kind of shape. I think her body type is not ideal for playing at 38.

    Tennisone.com

That page is updated now to not show the errors, but there are probably a lot of pages that will have those in the background. Does this affect your ability to view the video?

    relationship of Flip and lag?

Nice observation about Del Potro versus Dimitrov. Like you observed, Dimitrov has the "flip" where the racket goes from pointing to the right side and then "flips" backwards to where it is almost pointing to the left sideline (not quite that far but a really extreme change in direction!). With...

    Modern Forehand Relaxed Wrist

Look at the rainbow like path his racket moves through: http://www.hi-techtennis.com/tw/forearm_rotation.php The only way the racket does that arc is if the forearm and hand are turning. However, this isn't the only motion. His entire arm is lifting upward and his shoulder is pushing and...

    Modern Forehand Relaxed Wrist

I would think about it a little differently. Instead of thinking about the wrist, think more about your forearm muscles. You want your forearm muscles to rotate the ball - like turning open a tightly closed jar. With your hand rotated downward a bit on contact, use your wrist and forearm...

    Trying to identify player

Adrian's arm is bent a lot more than that - thanks for the suggestion though. Who knows - this guy might just be a hitting partner for Steve Johnson and not actually play on the tour.

    Trying to identify player

Not Krajicek and not Falla - I know that for sure just based on the technique. He was hitting with Steve Johnson if that helps at all. Here is a better look:

Not Falla, good guess though. So he was hitting with Steve Johnson. Here is a better look:

    Modern Forehand Relaxed Wrist

You don't want a "relaxed wrist" through contact. That's just not an accurate concept. You will get no bite into the ball and you will lose the drive and lift from the arm. Check out Raonic here. Definitely not a "loose wrist" through impact there. Instead he is starting to turn his hand and...

    Forehand Help Please?

I would highly recommend video taping your strokes. It's very easy to think you are doing something right when you aren't. Only video will let you know!

Please help me with my forehand

To me, this is pretty good shoulder rotation, but to each his own. However, looking at this, it is curious that you are in an open stance on preparation but have moved your left leg right in front of your back foot before contact. You definitely don't want that. I just looked and you do that...

Please help me with my forehand

I disagree with that. His shoulders are parallel to the side fence on his takeback and completely parallel on contact. That's good shoulder rotation. There is the potential for a bit more by pointing the left arm straight across the body and twisting a bit more.

Please help me with my forehand

That's a horrible idea. The right hitting elbow needs to move from behind the right hip to well in front of the right hip. You are doing that very well. He should be fired - seriously awful advice.

    Forehand Help Please?

With your wrist angled downward a bit on contact, rotate your hand/forearm in a counter clock wise motion as you simultaneously lift your arm upward. You should be able to "check the time on your watch" when you finish this rotation. The hand/forearm rotation will get your racket to "bite"...

Pronation before the serve begins (Raonic style) - can be a big help

Also check out these high speed videos of baseball throwing. You can see just how similar the biomechanics are. http://www.hi-techtennis.com/high_speed/baseball.php?video=pitcher_foside_01_1000.swf

At The Racket Drop Position: Is the wrist in a neutral position? Or supinated?

Looking at the above video of Raonic, you can see how the phrase "racket drop" is a misleading phrase used all the time in instruction. As the shoulders rotate upwards (the see-saw motion) and the elbow drives upwards, the racket is lagging behind. When people hear the phrase "racket drop"...

    Players still make clean contact

If you look at the animations on the link the racket head does go straight up and forward for those two or three frames. You can see how the tip of the racket is not coming across at all but going straight up and forward. Of course after those frames the arm does come across in the...

Pam Shriver needs to be fired

You could hear Melanie in the background say "you mean right now??" She was tricked. As for the believe spelling question - what was the point in asking her that?? And then Pam has to relate how she was in the same position as Melanie when she played Evert, but she did a lot better in the...
