Left eye dominance - play more 2HBH open / semi-open stance?

I guess this is to compensate for your dominant eye being farther from contact than your weak eye? If you hit a righty 2HBH neutral/closed your right eye would naturally be closer to the contact point. I think this has some basis. Eye dominance has affected me when playing baseball too. I am a...

The obvious reason junk ballers are so much better at match play than you are

Oh yes definitely agree. Junkballers should be people who try "weird" shots like constant lobs, short slices, dropshots etc.

Sam Groth's opinion on western forehand grips

I tend to avoid these blanket statements like the plague. Full western is not advised for the general tennis population, sure. But different people have different body configurations and it's bound to work for some. Also wouldn't pros be terrible examples to prove this case as I would argue the...

Nadal is massively underrated outside clay

If variety is so important I think the proponents of this view should also support the equality of opportunity on the slam and masters surfaces, as a one-trick pony on hard is gonna unfairly skew the totals in favour of him despite being, as they call him, a one-trick pony. Slams should be 1-1-1...

"Tennis is a percentage game". Which racquet sports are not?

I think table tennis is too fast for people to even think about being safe. Sure there are safer shot patterns but in general you are relying on instincts and topspinning most shots as hard as you can. It also doesn't help that slow topspins will get you killed unless as a once in a blue moon...

Toni Nadal on Rafa: “He still has two or three good years left”

Already with the injury excuses ha. But yes I wouldn't count Nadal out - he's come back multiple times

The obvious reason junk ballers are so much better at match play than you are

I think it's more about the replicability of the technique and the higher margin of their shots. An underspin hack is much easier to perform and replicate than a topspin groundstroke. It's much easier to keep the ball in by opening up your racquet face and just dinking than brushing up the ball...

Completely losing your feel every time you start practice

I can honestly check almost all the problems above! Haven't restrung in a year, overgrip is old, not warming up, nervous... I'll try to eliminate as many variables as possible

Completely losing your feel every time you start practice

I can rally with some consistency after having dialled in but every time I start a practice session I completely lose the feel for the racquet. It's hard to describe the sensation but it's as if I don't know how to align my arm and position my wrist to form the proper racquet angle, and as a...

    Emma Raducanu: 1 GS Wonder?

From what I can observe she is smart, opportunistic and has a lot of grit. Never over-extends and defends well. That spinny forehand of hers really complements the percentage game and the backhand when hit flat can be a missile

It used to be that criminal justice was the job of law enforcement and not a corporate responsibility. Am I too old-fashioned? Is it because the girl refused to sue? I'm just afraid it sets a dangerous precedent--a player can have his career unrightfully disrupted or even jeopardized by what...

How good was Kyrgios as a tennis player?

A big server with more of a semblance of a ground game than his counterparts. This trait used to be able to throw off some but I think over the years people got used to him. His decline is not just about him - it's about the other players too. His return is horrible-can't put many in play. His...

Trying to classify the Laver Cup. What is it really?

I don't know why people are so desperate to bring it down by constantly reminding us of the fact that it's an exho. Most fans here do know that it is an exho but enjoy it for what it is nevertheless. The bigger problem lies in the imbalance of the teams.

Looks like Rublev has a good future in doubles. Decent hands and doubles gives him more time to rip that forehand of his. He basically bullied both the netman and the baseliner with his forehand whenever it was his turn yesterday
