    McEnroe Sampras at their peak

LOL - different eras - can only play who is in front of you. McEnroe in 1984 represents the highest level any player has ever played relative to his competition. In what year did Sampras even approach that kind of win percentage? The guy was almost unplayable, even for a Lendl who had finally...

2021 BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) Final: Basilashvili vs Norrie

Well, that’s true, but if you look back at big 3 threads, that went on for pages and pages. It’s more tolerable here, because the rabid big 3 fans seem to have gotten bored and left… which is fine with me.

2021 BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) Final: Basilashvili vs Norrie

Which is great, because there are no rabid fans fighting with each other and bringing guys who aren't even playing into the discussion.

2021 BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) Final: Basilashvili vs Norrie

A joke because the top seeds lost? Not following you. Some great matches in this tournament, on both the women's and men's sides.

2021 BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) Final: Basilashvili vs Norrie

Norrie has been playing solid tennis all year. It's good to see him on top. I hope he crosses the finish line.

Who is more talented: Thiem or Nalbandian?

Wait, you’re grouping Thiem and Agassi? No. Agassi was one of the most gifted ball strikers in the history of tennis. Thiem is simply not in the same league.

Ostapenko groundies are beautiful when she’s on and just ripping the cover off the ball.

    Are Osaka's groundstrokes GOAT level?

Goaty groundies on display right now from Ostapenko. Not my favorite player, but no way could Osaka do this tossing in the average serve speed of like 70 mph.

Best string for Head Extreme Tour

Well, in the old Extreme Pro, I’m playing Lightning Pro mains and Cyber Blue crosses. It’s been solid. The new frames are quite a bit different, though, probably why Berry stuck with the old mold.

2021 BNP Paribas Open ATP M1K, October 5-17

Yes!!! What a great day for men's tennis. Look at that list of semifinalists: Norrie-Grigor-Fritz-Basilashvili. This is what the post-Big Three (Four) Era will be like. No dominant #1 for a while, guys playing inspired tennis because they believe they can win and haven't lost before they...

Ons Jabeur set to become the first ever Arab tennis player to break into the top 10 - male or female.

My, how quickly this thread degenerated. Let’s keep it about the rather creative and enjoyable to watch game of Ons, and our happiness that there’s more than one non-ball basher in the WTA top ten, please. Plenty of threads about other players. Happy to see Ms. Jabeur having success.

Who is more talented: Thiem or Nalbandian?

No one said that. It’s pretty clear who has spent more hours in the gym and developed a game based on brute force between the two, though…

Who is more talented: Thiem or Nalbandian?

Thiem is a hard worker. Nalbandian had talent. I’m fascinated by the poll results. How on Earth is Thiem winning? Is it all kids who started watching tennis in 2015 voting?

    Lendl vs Kuerten on Clay

This one's like 60-40 Lendl. He wouldn't win all the matches, but I think he'd have a winning H2H.

    He's cut!!!

Have to admit that when I saw Grigor won, the first thing that crossed my mind was the number 7. Hardly surprised @Hitman, a long time Djoker fan, had the same thought.

Replacement insole for gel resolution 8

Depends on your feet. If, like me, you can handle a little more insole and need more arch support than the shoes provide, Superfeet Greens seem to be a good choice.

    Are Osaka's groundstrokes GOAT level?

Lots of streaky ball-bashers in the WTA. Pick one at random. They're all as good as Osaka on their day. So... no, not GOAT level.

    Wilander vs Courier on clay

Yup, Wilander forced Lendl to play that way. He was a master tactician.
  21. Winners or Errors

    Wilander vs Courier on clay

Courier v Agassi = two identical styles. No way you’d enjoy Wilander if you want to see two guys just trying to rip the cover off the ball. It wasn’t his style.
  22. Winners or Errors

    Wilander vs Courier on clay

Up through 1988, Wilander would beat Courier. He ate ball bashers for breakfast, and though I always enjoyed watching Jim play, a ball basher he was. Post 1988, who didn’t Mats lose to?

Why do the pros seem to hit rather flat?

Nadal, Fed, Djoker, all of whom hit with a lot of topspin - all have their racquets within 1-2 degrees of perpendicular when they strike the ball.

Nadal is massively underrated outside clay

Thanks, @Hitman. I thought it was one, because I remember the refrain that he had never defended a non-clay title for, well, more than a decade, but then it occurred to me that maybe the number was two and I'd run into the TT buzz-saw. ;)

Nadal is massively underrated outside clay

I didn't bother reading the five pages of posts on this thread. Just one question. How many non-clay titles did Nadal defend in his career? He's not an easy out on any court, but wasn't consistently champion material, either.

Why is the TF4O 305 so much more popular than the 315?

My one hander has no problem with the XTC 305, and I use it interchangeably with more traditional headlight sticks. It’s simply a good stick, as probably is the TF40.
