    From Prostaff 90 to ?

It's been a while since I hit with the 6.1 95 (K-factor model with 4g lead at 3 & 9.) I need to string one up and compare. Maybe this weekend. I never hit with the original 6.0 PS95, but people who did tell me that the 2012 model didn't compare. Too light and unstable.

    From Prostaff 90 to ?

I am currently trying to transition from the PS90 (2014) to the RF97, and as was said above, it is a completely different beast. It probably has more in common with the 6.1 95 than the PS90, which is probably why that line was discontinued at the time it was introduced. Several years ago I...

Anyone else here tried using macebells?

After being forced to take about a year and a half off to deal with health issues, followed by a fall and resultant shoulder injury, I had to rebuild my strength and rehab my shoulder to start playing again. Out of curiosity, I bought a macebell and found it to work out very well for me. It...

    Therabandflexbar users....

I developed a pretty bad case of tennis elbow several years ago, and began using the flexbar to try to rehab it. I also continued to play using a compression strap on my elbow. It actually took a couple of years for the pain to completely go away, but it did continually improve until it was...

Do you cut the rest of your strings after playing and breaking your string? Does this prevent warping?

Modern racquets will not warp in the way wood or metal racquets would, but I believe the uneven stress from leaving broken strings in will fatigue the material, shortening the frame's life. No damage will be observed until the frame fails catastrophically, i.e. cracks. I believe leaving broken...

    Red poly strings

Golden Set Snakebite. I found it a bit springy at the tension I tried it (46#), but it has some of the sharpest edges I've felt on a shaped string. It's also available in smooth now, apparently.

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

When I am swinging the racquet well, with Nano Vendetta @ 46#, it seems as if the racquet and strings are in perfect resonance and the racquet does more work on the ball than it ever has with any other setup. Just looking for that with the new frame. However I am still recovering from an...

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I tried Red Devil in the 90 years ago and did not like it. Too much of a trampoline feeling, but that was 1.19. The Nano Vendetta, in contrast, seems to grab the ball briefly, and add spin to it. I assume that is what is meant by pocketing.

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

It is a bit stiffer according to TW test results, and I suspect that is the reason. The leather grip actually feels a bit thicker and softer, which I don't like. Doesn't seem to be any bad vibration issues, it's just that the 90s and NV @ 46# seemed to be in perfect resonance. Logic would...

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I am finally trying to make a racquet switch, from the Pro Staff 90s to the RF 97. After stringing the new racquet up with Nano Vendetta at 46#, which I found to be ideal in the 90s, the string bed felt stiffer, despite the larger bed. A BO/BF hybrid set up at the same tension didn't satisfy...

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I'm curious about what kind of machine your racquets are strung on. BF has more latent stretch than any string I've used, and I wonder if this may be the cause of your rapid tension loss, especially if you are using a lock-out tension device.

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

For what it's worth, I strung up an older extended length Prestige Plus with 1.24mm Nano Vendetta at 48# and was very pleased with the results. The thinner string just never seemed to work in my more open patterned racquets, but it seemed to shine in this one.

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I don't think it's a temperature issue. I have large loopy swings, and it takes a while for the timing and muscle memory to come back and make a firm and solid connection. Plus, I'm just now getting my strength back from the last two years. The "Ping!" I was hearing on contact a month ago is...

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I'm playing the 1.30 mm version in a 2014 Pro Staff 90 at 46# at the moment. When I am swinging well and playing aggressively it seems to cup the ball and generate spin and deliver good power without the trampoline feeling and loss of control. It seems as if the string and racquet resonance is...

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

Nano Vendetta seems to stretch less upon stringing than any poly I've tried, though that is not a large number. I actually bought it to use as a cross for BHSR, but after trying it in a full bed I've been using it ever since. I seem to be one of its few fans here on this forum though.

    Stringing a PS 85

I was just about to edit my post to note that. Pretty sure that was where I read it as well.

    Stringing a PS 85

I remember reading instructions circa 1990 to begin stringing the crosses from the top before the last main string on the long side, doing that string last and tying off at the top. As I recall, this was to allow the bumper guard to be clamped down rather than due to any problem with stringing...

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I've likened it to Tourna's Big Hitter Silver Rough before. I think this string shines best in racquets with a little flex, a higher swing weight, and at low to medium tensions.

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I've tried Gutex Ultra, Lethal Weapon, and Pioneer. Pioneer is the only one I liked, but I don't regularly use multis.

I'm looking for a Spin Monster.

Golden Set Snake-Bite is one to look at. A lot of spin, but I thought it had too much trampoline to it. Someone on here suggested that it needs to be strung a little more tightly for best effect.

    Pro's Pro Strings!?

I've strung up Black Force once, as a cross to Black Out, and it offered the most stretch while stringing of any polyester I've tried. Nano Vendetta, in contrast, offers the least. I don't have enough experience with it to tell you anything about how it plays though. Nano Vendetta should make...

Who else prefers cheaper polys to more expensive ones?

I picked up a Six.One 95S to try and hit with it a bit late this summer, and am considering a switch. I strung it up with Pro's Pro Nano Vendetta and found that to work quite well for me. I was actually surprised as I feel it to work best in heavier frames, and initially was thinking Black Out...

    Cheap poly reviews?

As Doc Hollidae said above, "Google is your friend." There is a U.S. distributor and it sales for just under forty dollars per reel (200m). I'd tell you who, but as they are competitors to our hosts here, you will have to search. Don't know anything about Head Hawk and don't recall any...

    Cheap poly reviews?

I didn't mean to imply that they were, in fact, the same strings, but that claims had been made that they played identically, and there was little refutation. Pro's Pro Black Out is manufactured in Germany and Technifibre I believe is manufactured in France, so they are not the same.

    Cheap poly reviews?

I see you speak highly of Black Code 4S up there. If you spend time in the Pro's Pro thread you will see a lot of comparisons and claims for equivalency for their strings with more expensive ones. Most of these are questioned and debated quite a bit. It's a marketing tool I guess. There...

Which syngut plays the most similar to poly?

It seems to be no longer available, but Pro's Pro Comet Power is the closest I've tried. Much more so than Red Alert, which I have also tried.

    Tourna Premium Poly.

When I first started trying polys I had settled on BHSR as my favorite, and bought a some Pro's Pro Nano Vendetta to try as a cross to get even cheaper. After trying it in a full bed I haven't been back. I prefer to string cheap and string often rather than try to get my money's worth out of...
