Seniors lounge (over 50) come on in.

How annoying can an opponent be? First off in the wam up he hits some shots relentlessly reminding of a top-spin shot, but, when the game stars, no more than flat dead balls in different length and what ever. And after the match they appologise for winning the game… ‍‍:face palm: Could have...

New theory: doing drills is pointless above 3.5

I’m a grinder, play-like drills will help you win games. But they need to be versatile. Variable training is the thing.

    Grip size question

I think tape on fingers are for friction and avoiding blisters, not to thicken the skinny grip.

    Grip size question

+1! In badmington the racket weighs about 95 grams... But that said, there is a trend towards more lightweighted rackets in tennis too, hence the impact is a lot heavier than in badmington. In badmington speed is the key, since other than the net roller is allways hit flat. In tennis you need...

    Grip size question

How long fingers does Fede have? I’d be comfortable and given a 5+ by the old recommendation, but now play 4 1/2 Comfortably, yet my fingers and palm pad overlaps.

    Grip size question

If you hold the thinner more loose, it’ll flick faster than a big block. It is a matter of grip pressure. A thick grip may require more pressure, ie. More tense forearm and therefore the wrist will stiffen. If you can hold the thinner more loosely, then it is only matter of which way you flick it.

    Grip size question

My question would be, did you try to hit the same as you used to with the thick block? If so, no wonder no increase in spin. how about the pace?

Most flexible, softest, mushy, noodle bendiest rackets of all time

Head Professional - The red head aluminium frame of the 70’s. That was even softer than wooden fiberglass wrapped Donnays. And another quite soft was Puma Red Puma, 50/50 glass-/carbon fibre. Hence the Blue Puma 80/20 carbon fibreglas -ratio was very firm at the time, the 80’s. I remember them...

Did Federer and Nadal Ruin Tennis?

Living the era of the Big4 has been a privilege. Now in my low 50s, I wellcome new names to the top, like Medvedev #2. But it will be really hard to comprehend and addjust to the reality, when there will be five to ten players among the top 20-sh, who could win a Slam on any given year. The...

Can you serve 100MPH if your 6 foot and under??

I have been wondering the same for ages. My second serve is measured at 155-ish kmh. But obviously the complete game is not at the level, you compare my serve to. However, yet really close to being fractured the final time on many occations, I think I got the question wrong. Now, that I read...

Can you serve 100MPH if your 6 foot and under??

At 5-11, 100 MPH easy. Used to be 110 to 115 before hamstring got torn off my but. Since then knee broke down and collar bone broke in three. Luckily enough that was only the tossing arm. Regular slice second serve is at about 95-ish.

Can you serve 100MPH if your 6 foot and under??

At 5-11, 100 MPH easy. Used to be 110 to 115 before hamstring got torn off my but. After the injury I’ve had hard time passing 172 k on flat first serve. Since then knee broke down and collar bone broke in three. Luckily enough that was only the tossing arm. Regular slice second serve is...

    Grip size question

I think risk of hurting wrist will deminish. But only, if your grip pressure goes down as well. Release will become more effective and quicker likely, if you can hold the racket easy. Squeezing the thinner grip hard will do the opposite And may result elbow symptomes. My 5 c is, that take the...

    Inconsistency in grip pallet sizes

As for the numbers EU 3-5 there seems to be variation on the thickness of at least 1/8th of an inch between 4 to another 4, but they are stamped the same. If you buy only one racke at a time thinking it would fall in the same specs, it will most likely have either difference in weight, ballance...

    Ultimate string of choice !

Lux Alu PWR have been my choice for about as long as I remember now. At 26-27 kilos it has been really responsive in 1.25 in diameter and gives a convincing sound on Babs PD Tour I play with - no damper on my sticks. Also really consistent spin and pace. Before ending up using these, I really...

    Tapatalk Pro Error on Login

Really hope, they return the plug-in into use sooner than later. The usability and following ”MyThreads” is so much more convenient by Tapatalk, than with this browser-interface. This’s been been going on for half a year or so, I think. I suppose, Tapatalk is updated since. And Did not notice...

    VAT Charged twice?

That’s 150+ €! Where can you import that much, without customsduties? We have the minimum total of 10 € for tax and duties. That makes FCA at tops 41,67 € for tax and dutie free import from third countries.

    VAT Charged twice?

There may be something on the VAT, cause obviously the merch is not produced in the UK, if then exported to EU. I glimbsed thru an official article, and there was a chapter on subsidary of UK business in the EU. probably a case similar to Tennis-warehouse, if the mother company is in UK, but...

I’m still at 44 and still not mitten by covid-19, fitness age 26 @53. I’ve started winter biking and getting training effects up each week now. Had the plate dug out the shoulder, which is a touch sore and swollen, but seems otherwise very promising. Not in pain, just little numb and swollen...

Neither, and really not that old yet, to have been an ace in the WWII or even a vet. Lucky enough never got onto a real mission. Basic training on props and liasion flights towards the end. In between fighter training on BaE Hawks. That’s in the past now, trying to find even a fraction of the...

Got back onto the court by own release from claviculae reconstruction. Orthopedist check on friday. No pain on the bone area, while playing. Not quite sure, if there ever will be any feel, cause it is numb from levator scapulae down to my nipple. Hoping to get the feel back after the titanium...

Nice to hear! Propellers with piston and jet powerplant later in my rut, not a success as one might imagine. But jets in the early years in the squad. Did some really crazy stuff, one cannot imagine. Was really on the loose in the cockpit, which is not good for your future. Hence, lived thru...

Not green either, but cheap! i was thinking, now that Lewis Hamilton never gonna drive other than civil electric million dollar Merc, not making any emissions, what could a poor retired fighter pilot do? Shoulder turn overrated on the serve?

You can talk miles and nautical miles, even furlongs of how deep a squat you’d need, but it will not get you anywhere, unless you first understand the conception of kinetic rythm, the sequence by which your body will fire your arm and hand making it move at the highest possible speed or rate of...
