    More comfort than ezone 98

Great info here. I also found it to be pretty stable. Demo has been sent back to TW and vcore 98 is next on the demo list.

    More comfort than ezone 98

Just for the record I am just talking about the ezone 98, not the tour. I'm sure the guys can chime in on the tour though. I was originally eyeing the tour because of the lower RA but heard it was on the heavier side, for a guy like me.

    More comfort than ezone 98

Thanks stud, my efforts to become a better player have been eating into the string reviews but it's for the better!

    More comfort than ezone 98

It's just funny that the vcore, which is marketed as the stiffer high performance racket, is apparently more comfortable than the racket that is marketed as the forgiving plush racket. Side note: My stock ai98 with worn down bumpers weighs more than my almost brand new prestige mp. Same strings...

    More comfort than ezone 98

45 was too high for me apparently. Clean hits it felt great, just didn't have that bendy feel on off centers. The Ai98 to me feels like those just melt away.

    Pulling the tension on crosses

Pulling on that first cross directly is a little "harsh" on the knot and anchor string, especially if using more sensitive strings or hybrids. You can solve this issue by using a starting clamp.

    More comfort than ezone 98

I think the newest ezone 98 (not the tour) is considered a pretty comfortable racket, but after demoing it it's a little harsher on off centers than my Ai98. I tested them side by side both at 45 lbs and played a couple long grinding matches on the ezone 98. The rackets look almost identical...

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

Great video! The real story behind this whole thing is I smashed one of my last ai98 (bad idea) and grabbed a new Pure Drive VS to finish out the set with. I could't stand the stiffness, however the spin felt like 10x of my ai98 and I was like, ok maybe I am a bit outdated here with my ai98...

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

I am setting up some demos of the ezone 98 and Vcore 98 - usually would stray away from the stiffer types but I'm curious how the Vcore does with some softer strings. Thanks for the pro tips. I never come over into the racket forum because it's too expensive.

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

Thank you. They just fell into my hands, and thought I would try something new. Felt so stable to hit with on first time and liked the control aspect. Then started seeing the holes in my game not sure I can just fix overnight. I'm also more of a string guy and I miss the string effect I used to...

Is it wrong to hybrid different gauge strings?

By using a thicker cross you can get more life out of a hybrid. You can use a 18g, more aggressive poly main with a 15L synthetic cross for example. If the same cross was 18g it might not last one session.

Polyester string tension and arm Issues

It's a great question, but at the same time it is losing tension it is also losing its ability to stretch. Then at a certain point the stretch is all gone and no matter how much tension it loses, you are still hitting that dead stop. You can also talk about the string bed locking and being...

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

This is my first post in the racket forum. You guys are talking about rackets as if they are living, breathing human beings. And I love it! I've been using the PMP for a few months, trying to get the swing speed up. Yes it has it's moments of greatness. At the end of the day I miss the dive...

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

Used Ai's went from $60 up to 150+, which signaled the change. And after using the same one for 6 years I thought it might be getting a little flat. Just loved the muted and flexy feel of them.

Jug you are so right, back to TB soft this week for another go. Can anyone confirm the ezone 98 plays more plush than the new vcore 98 (2021)? They look very similar but I can't stand a stiff racket.

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

Looking back at the video and see not a single top one hander doing any damage. Don't mean anything against my opponent, he's got one of the nicer ones I play against, but when you roll heavy deep top to a one hander in a match they are so easy to break down! A rematch is coming guys stay tuned!

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

I'm understanding now that a defensive scrambling topspin player can benefit from a quicker swinging setup. Before I just assumed a heavier racket was always better if you could handle it. One funny thing is that while on video most people see a slice bh as a negative thing or a weakness, but...

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

Using this racket is exposing those issues. I was using a lighter 16x19 and could "afford" to fall back and they would still go in. All those sailed fh's in the video would usually be going back in no problem as they had higher launch and less through pace. I will say it's impressive at how...

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

@smalahove wow, impressive analysis - thank you. I currently do not have a topspin backhand and use slice only. At my level I can get away with the running around the fh and can compensate with court coverage. I was able to go undefeated last season using this strategy, so it does work to a...

    Arm Friendly Racket Attributes

String pattern and head size matter as well. If you have TE you might want to back off of the poly until you feel good. For softer off centers, don't increase tension on tie off's when doing your outermost mains. I've tested this side by side and increasing tie off tension by 10%, a common...

Failed attempt at switching to Prestige MP

Long time Ai98 user here but had a chance to pick up a pair of new Prestige MP over the fall. Been using it over the winter and like a lot of things, however coming into the spring I'm still not fully sold yet. Pros. Way more control in 18x20, way more stability on returns, and outstanding...

If you are using 1.05mm on a 100 racket yes I would expect movement after the first hour. Depends also what tension you are stringing at.

your biggest lead blown or meltdown

I had a mental melt down where the opponent would return the faulted serve back over the net, causing the ball to hit the fence and roll back where I would have to retrieve it before my 2nd serve, breaking the rhythm. Normally it's not that big of a deal, but it grew on my nerves because I was...
