Davis cup 2021 Nov 25th to Dec 5th

Who said it was fast? Isner broken four times already should never happen on a fast hard court.

    The court looks ridiculously slow.

In 3 months, the girls in "King Richard" developed better strokes than most 3.5 hackers playing for decades

I don't find it weird at all compare it to "Dancing with the stars". Any celebrity can pass as a very good dancer within a short time and this is no different.

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

Nothing like a dirty tourna grip they only get better with time!

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

Thanks, getting closer! I will probably try some variations during practice.

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

Is this passable for an eastern? Feels ok

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

I grew up with Becker/Edberg so my backhand is old school I guess. I mainly use slice anyway and was told I play like Dan Evans :)

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

Interesting this grip feels stable to me. It's the way the racquet "falls" in my hand naturally but thanks for the advice. I have a habit of using two hands sometimes so it makes sense to use slightly more continetal grip so I can decide in the last moment to hit two-handed.

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

This is my grip is it continental? I tried to find the eastern backhand grip for 10 years but it never felt right so I just went with what feels comfortable and works for me and this is it.

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

To adjust grip size I use different methods but no weight in handle so far. I add overgrips, use replacement grip only, different thickness (and weight) of replacement grips.

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

I have both shapes and actually with the rectangular one I feel I can go slightly smaller in grip size and still maintain control with the backhand.

Smaller grip size better forehand, bigger grip size better one handed backhand?

This is a trade-off for me, my forehand seems to be better with a smaller grip but then I lack control of the one handed backhand since the grip is not stable enough. If I go up in grip size the forehand lose some power because of less wrist action but I feel confident to rip the backhand...

How was the 2021 season for you as a tennis fan? What were the highs and lows for you?

The highs the matches I will remember Tsitsipas Nadal in Barcelona, Karatsev Djokovic semi in Belgrade and I watched Murray Sinner live in Stockholm. Fernandez run at US Open (I didn't pay attention to Raducanu until the final), Barty winning Wimbledon. The lows, Federer, Nadal and Thiem out...

    2021 Stockholm Open

I was there on wednesday and it’s obvious FAA is too good not to have won a title I predict his first will come here. Dimitrov, Tsitsipas and Shapovalov also won their first here so it’s the place for maiden titles.

    Alcaraz is everything.

What makes you so sure? Go back ten years and people thought the same of Dimitrov. Anyway Medvedev, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Rublev and even Ruud will be around for many years he will have to beat them for slams and we have Auger-Aliassime, still only 21. Alcaraz will probably be a contender but lot’s...

    Alcaraz is everything.

He has the potential, some good wins this year even won a title. Very promising, the signs are there but no I am not on the wagon yet. Haven't we seen this hype very recently with FAA, Shapovalov, Sinner and just about any 18 year old who has some small success. Not saying he will not be great...

What is the most “80s vibe” piece of tennis gear you have?

I have one of these as worn by McEnroe in 1981. The model is called Ghibli if anyone wants one. Sergio Tacchini of course.

Anyone else excited for the AO?

You forgot Stockholm the field there will be really strong this year, just look at this not bad for a 250. It's better than some 500's. Players - Stockholm Open And Murray got a WC

He did touch the net but was it after 2nd bounce? No way to see on tv so we have to trust the umpire on that one.

This comes down to self belief I bet Tiafoe doesn't believe he is a top player but Schwartzman knows he is one.

Which player actually influences your playing style?

Different players for different shots. Fogninis forehand always made lot's of sense to me. Nadal's volleying, nothing fancy keeping it simple get the job done. Serve probably Tsonga, the rythm and weight transfer is a good image to keep in mind. I hit 1hbh and always liked James Blake's backhand.

I don't get it why is Zverev so sloppy at the net but so thourough from the baseline. His brother is one of the best volleyers in the world didn't he teach Sasha to do the work at the net and not take short cuts?

Murray with white grip tape for what I know he used black grip tape all career, what a peculiar change.

Tsitsipas is the most overrated player i have ever come across.

Have you watched him live in person? He has great touch that not always comes across on tv. I was sceptical too before I watched him live it was like I watched another player.

Is it bad etiquette to drop shot older guys during league play?

Maybe if it was practice sets you should go easy on them but an actual match drop shot then all you want and If you win I assume you will move on to better opponents and they will mostly play others in their age group.
