    EURO 2016

EURO 2016 is only a few months away. For the first time there will be 24 teams, which i think is a great number, though many disagree. Their argument is that you get more tight group matches with 16, but I think is better to have those matches in the knockout stage which most likely will happen...

Ferrer/Berdych/Tsonga probaby will not win a grand slam, Cilic or Nishikori will

Nishikori has winning head to heads against all of them. Just sayin'.

    oscar borras serve videos

Thanks for translation. My espanol is bueno but I couldn't catch the details. I know the Nadal video for some time and I agree, it is a must watch.

    peter gojowczyk forehand

This guy is basically Malisse. Haircut included.

Which current WTA forehand matches the ATP pattern best?

Quite a few have this ATP forehand. Kuznetsova, Hercog, Safarova, Rybarikova, Stosur, McHale, Erakovic, Schiavone, Flipkens, Shvedova, Na Li, Larsson and probably others.

Tsonga a serious contender for the USO

I don't remember a GS where Tsonga had better chances. A few top 10 players? More like the first 3 contenders for US Open according to bookies. Plus Dimitrov which is in the 4-6 group with Wawrinka and Tsonga himself. Like I said, he never had a better chance before. And this also applies...

    American style of tennis

Courier? Wasn't he very good in rallies? Most of current North Americans are not or better said they prefer first strike tennis. Most of the current North Americans (might as well throw in the Australians too) have that big serve and big forehand. But if we look closer, beside the serve...

Why is Isner so bad outside U.S.?

The average North American tennis player has a big serve, big forehand, average to bad everything else and plays considerably better on North American soil. With this undeniable trend going on it's expected that we will find these characteristics at extreme levels in some cases.

RAONIC arm band. What does it do ?

But dampeners do have a practical purpose, which is making your shots sound better. At least that's why I use them. Without it sounds like I hit with a fry pan or like I'm framing every shot (I probably do).

If Dimitrov is BabyFed, then who is BabyNadal?

Klizan. Paire is almost nothing like Djokovic. There's probably about 20 players that are more Djokovic-like than him. I agree that Nishikori is similar to Djokovic.

return placement in the middle and deep why?!!

The real main reason is not opening the angles though.

    Multi vs Polyester questions.

Good to know. Then I have to try a multi that plays like a multi. I guess Wilson Sensation, Head Rip Control, Babolat Excell are standard multis right? They seem to be good strings judging by reviews.

    RIP control

Never played it but it sounds good. Does it sound too high? If that's the case try some vibration dampeners to get a better, lower pitched sound. That's the only reason I'm using one. I don't like that high pitched, almost metallic sound.

    Multi vs Polyester questions.

Thing is I feel no pain with this poly, felt good from the start. I'm trying them to see for myself how rough are these polys after all. I said from the beginning that if I feel any pain I'll cut them away. Will be careful though. There are many stories like yours linking injuries and poly...

    Multi vs Polyester questions.

Oh you say 4 months of therapy already, ouch. lol I really need to to get to 50 posts. GOAT debates are dull though.

    Multi vs Polyester questions.

How did the pain manifested? During hitting? Was it after the 4 months, if not after what period of time? Maybe XR3 it's a rougher multi while Enduro a softer poly and the 2 kg in tnesion really made the difference. Think I'll will try some multies at lower tension too, around 21-24kg for...

I mean me being better when i tried the poly. Damn why I can't edit my posts?

    Multi vs Polyester questions.

You could say so. I'm more a relative beginner that is still improving rather than a player that has an established level for some time. Me being a bit better than when I tried the multi surely has to do with this but still what I find interesting is that I have no pain or discomfort using...

    Multi vs Polyester questions.

Around may/june this year I needed new strings for my racquet. Reading all these posts around here about the "side effects" of poly strings and how they only benefit advanced players I went for a multi, Tecnifibre XR3 16 (natural beige color) at 25/26 kg. It felt really rough compared to the...

I guess being 2.04 helps with high balls :)

    janowicz Fh

I think his grip it's almost continental so it's normal to look a bit different. Traditional grip, modern everything else. One of the flattest hitters out there, trajectory wise, probably spin wise too.

My service does not have the correct movement!?

That's good tennis! The serve looks serviceable as it is but if you want a more "pro" looking serve work a bit on the trophy pose like Lukash said. Your serve looks a bit like Wawrinka's, even the rhythm seems close so you might want to check some videos of his serve, there are plenty. At...

who is the best net player in the game in singles

Llodra. Hewitt? I think there are a few better than him. Don't get fooled by doubles success. A lot of singles players can do damage in doubles if for some reason they would really try. Are Berdych or Verdasco that good at the net in singles? The dynamics are different and net skills might not...

    Eastern grip...oh yes..

But the majority of WTA players do not hit eastern forehands. Can you name some WTA players that are actually using an eastern grip? Probably there are some... maybe Kvitova? I checked Serena, Azarenka and they're not eastern. Radwanska has very little spin yet still not eastern. I don't even...

12 old kid vs older man

Now why would I be jealous? That was not criticism or rather not negative criticism. He is a very good, trained player, it's not even worth mention it but I did find it interesting that he looks a lot like Djokovic. Every groundstroke, serve, return and movement. There is the Dimitrov/Federer...

It's hilarious how much the kid looks, behaves, moves and hits like Djokovic. Seriously.

Age 26- too old to start playing and become a tennis instructor?

When I hear "teaching pro" I think of a coach/instructor that makes a living from teaching tennis or it's one of his main incomes not necessarily a former pro that teaches. I think it's possible but it might take some time if you want to teach more than beginners. Interesting topic. Hope...

    Sloane Stephens Practice Session

For the 1425th time I said she is not one of the most intense WTA players, quite the opposite, hence a training session like this shouldn't come like a surprise. This thread had a lot more posts that got deleted (why?) and I've explained myself in one or two of those posts. Can't be bother to...

    Sloane Stephens Practice Session

I don't know why some are surprised, watch some match footage and you'll notice she is not that intense as others. Sloane is one of the "laziest" players out there. Not saying it's a good or a bad thing but it seems like that's her on court personality - very calm and composed, almost too calm...
