2021 Yonex VCore Pro Official Thread

Hit with the 97H for a bit tonight with two different tensions, rpm blast 1.25 @59/56 and 57/54, and boy does the higher tension feel better. Which was unexpected for me because I usually string around 51-55. Racquets felt more sluggish than expected, but it’s probably me adjusting to the...

    Playing w/ Discontinued Frame

I have a nCode 90 that I mess around with sometimes, but I wouldn't call it my main racquet. Just recently switched to a more recent frame that was in production: Head Graphene Radical Pro. but before that, I had a set of K88's that I never touched, that were in immaculate condition! My main...

I just adjusted my grip slightly for flat serves. I thought I was using a continental grip before, but my hand was cocked slightly - just slightly towards an eastern grip, and it's been pretty good. Though one issue I'm having again is my left knee. It started hurting again because of serving...

Yeah, I've been working on cutting the weight off. Though I've noticed that playing sets, and playing the same person over and over, my stroke has been adapted to them. I haven't had any rallying sessions for a while, so I think I'll try getting my form back the next time I play. I'm thinking...

Also, I can't seem to translate my footwork, when rallying, into playing matches. It's like I know what to expect and the ball also moves faster when rallying, but erratic and short during matches. I have a hard time with short balls, and I'm not really sure what to do after. I don't want to...

Should I bring up my elbow and arm up earlier on my serves, so it could resemble the 'generic' trophy serve form?

I think it's an impact effect, I'm not necessarily slicing hard, but I'm not hitting flat either. I don't think I'm forcibly guiding my racquet outwards unless I go for a topspin serve. I was thinking I should do that too, seldom are my flat serves effective, which is why I try to go for a...

Just a shoddy park in SoCal. It's not the greatest, but it's nicer than the parks around my house.

I've been so focused on trying to keep the ball in during sets, that I've forgotten how to relax during my strokes. When I tried rallying after, I noticed that my grip was so tight, limiting my racquet head speed. So I'll try loosening it up the next time I play. He does tend to outrun me...

Hey everyone, I'm getting back into tennis and this is a set I played earlier today. I ended up losing 4-6 in the video and 0-6 after I stopped recording. I'm the guy in black shirt and white shorts. I never played competitively other than high school division 5, and am entirely self taught. I...

    Outstanding Serve Instruction

Video seems crude, watched only a part of it, but the elbow thing seems like it would help my service motion: https://streamable.com/5v6do although old, this is my general serve :T

    Del potro an ATG

When you've used something your entire career, your entire childhood, it's not easy to switch... especially at the level HE is at.

    Del potro an ATG

He couldn't set up for any of his shots since the ball kept going to hit backhand, which he ends up slicing, or really wide on his forehand where he can't hit an optimal shot, leaving the court wide open. I think he was just out of juice, because on the points where he did actually move and...

How good was the KPS 88?

I was thinking of the k90, don't know whether the 2014 ps90 had an Asian version of it overseas.

How good was the KPS 88?

I believe that'd be the Asian version, but I could be wrong.

How good was the KPS 88?

So much muscle mass lost... Cannot.. generate.. a lot of racquet head speed anymore.

Nevermind.. it says 98 on the side. Which is hard to believe because the racquet looks so small...

    ProKennex Black Ace

Found one at a thrift store today for 10 bucks. Not sure which one it is. It looks like a 90 sq racquet, has a very thin beam, and gold and red accents on black. Is it the 93 or 90 version?

How good was the KPS 88?

    An acquired taste, it is.

How good was the KPS 88?

I just couldn't relatively produce a lot of racquet head speed on my forehand with it today. It was amazing like I remember it on my one handed backhand, but I really struggled on my forehand side with it.

How good was the KPS 88?

Man. I played with the frame primarily today, and I was sore!! At the end, I switched to my Tour G 330g, and it felt like swinging a tweener xD

How good was the KPS 88?

I should start using mine again, but it's a somewhat difficult adjustment if I were to start playing with it again.

    The Handbook of Tennis

Heheh, I find it interesting that the book instructs on how to perform various different serves, but where a foot has to be on the ground still.
