Tennis Warehouse: Head Boom MP (Prototype 2021) Racquet

What’s with this frame? I don’t really understand who it’s for and why Head needs another line.

Does Gravity Tour have more power on hard forehands?

I love Lynx in my Gravity Tour btw. Also, I read the OP title again and couldn't help but laugh - I think any racquet will have more power on hard forehands (versus a "regular" pace forehand) lol

    Swingweight vs. Static weight question

I don't know that there's a clear cut answer. My take is that lower weight / more polarized / higher SW is an adaptation for the modern game - you get a whippier racquet whose head comes around easier for the same SW (power level), allowing you to hit with more spin. When I get a less polarized...

    Swingweight vs. Static weight question

If you know the mass and balance it does.. I mean it's headheavier all else equal.

    Swingweight vs. Static weight question

Higher SW means there is more weight in the head basically. It's likely that the lower static weight higher SW frame will be more head heavy, have more power and feel less maneuverable. The other option is that the balance can be the same, and the higher SW frame be more polarized (weight is...

360+ Extreme Tour VS 360 Speed MP

Relative to the ones I have in my bag, it's close to the Blade Pro 16x19 in terms of raw power, but those two are on a league of their own. The other ones way more controlled: Gravity Tour, DR98, Extreme Tour, TFight RS 300, Prince Tour 100 O3. PS: ex Babolat Strike One7 user and I think the...

Extreme Tour, better than the Blade?

Wow I have the Extreme Tour and Speed MP 360+ and find them nothing alike. The Speed MP feels like a total rocket launcher compared to the Extreme Tour..

360+ Extreme Tour VS 360 Speed MP

I have ET and Speed MP 360+. I can't find anything similar between them honestly. Extreme Tour a modern players stick. Super controlled / low powered, good spin but not much heft behind the shot. Speed MP is basically a tweener with good feel. It's a rocket launcher compared to the ET.

    Prince Official - Racquets

I don't wanna take too much of a tangent here but this is a surprise to me lol.. It's supposed to be way more powerful... What's the difference if not?

    Spin potential from TF40?

Small digression from the original post: interesting about the Speed Pro. From reading/research online I've always found the MP to be much favored on top of it. I feel like it's too much of a loose canon, but I'm def a 16x19 rather than 18x20 player. Gravity Tour for instance I wish was a little...

    Spin potential from TF40?

Wondering what the spin potential / launch angle looks like compared to other frames I've owned/played recently. I usually go for Confidential @ 50lbs, and this is roughly how I'd order them from least spin/lower launch angle to max spin/higher angle. Where would you place the TF40? Wilson...

Moving away from Gravity Pro ...

Interesting... I do feel very much the same way as you about the GT. Adding 2-3d to the throat actually made it a lot better, but it was still rather clunky for my OHBH. I didn't mind the 18x20 too much because of the huge head size, although I admittedly could use a little more spin. I...

OHBH baseline player - how to solve sweetspot vs maneuverability?

Agree and this is interesting, because if I don't try to add some spin it's super tough to get control nowadays. Will record myself and keep an eye out for this. Yes but then you have to actually make it to the ball before it rises, which is the tough part lol Plenty happy with my Court FF2's :)

Moving away from Gravity Pro ...

Confidential @ 50lbs user here lol. What string are you using? I tried Hyper-G 1.20mm @ 50lbs but it became a bazooka. Took me a while to adjust to it. PS: yes the added weight does wonders to it

OHBH baseline player - how to solve sweetspot vs maneuverability?

So for the 1H and 2H discussion, funny thing is that I learned and played 2HBH from 9-30 years of age. And it always sucked. For some reason I'm not able to hit freely and extend my shot. It looks and feels very unnatural, was always the case. I have the tendency to brush too much on the ball...

Moving away from Gravity Pro ...

Don't let the 300g from the Speed MP fool you.. it feels way heavier. Mine is 330SW unstrung with no customization

OHBH baseline player - how to solve sweetspot vs maneuverability?

It's not exactly the SW. I can handle 330SW and that's what both my Gravity and ETs are spec'd up to. It's that the big head size and sweetspot on the Gravity (which I love) make the swing a bit awkward on the OHBH side. Feels like you're dragging a bobbly head doll. The ET feels nothing like...

OHBH baseline player - how to solve sweetspot vs maneuverability?

OHBH player here, probably around 3.5-4.0 NTRP. Topspin oriented forehand, backhand comes out a little flatter. Not big on going up to the net because I'm 5'7", and not very patient for long rallies. My biggest challenge is moving around well, and thus the biggest mistake I tend to do is hitting...

Moving away from Gravity Pro ...

Gtour isn't that head heavy at 320mm. You can use TW's matching service to try to get one that's more headlight, or just add leather/lead to the handle.. I really don't find static weight to play much of a role these days, it's more about balance and SW, and adding to the handle doesn't change...

Moving away from Gravity Pro ...

Gravity Tour is your stick then. I chose it over the Pro because I couldn't handle the Pro's SW. Feels very similar, great stick. Or Gravity MP + lead for more spin. I also own the Extreme Tour and although it's a fantastic frame, plays nothing like the Gravity. It's way more muted, doesn't...

Heads aren't necessarily muted though, I was wondering more about the flexy feel

    The Official Angell Users Club

Based on a comment from earlier, is the TC line or the K7 line closer to the feel of Head racquets (flex in a Gravity for instance)? I always thought the K7 line would be closer due to Twaron, whereas the TC line would offer a firmer feel due to foam filling?

    Prince Phantom 100X

Problem is I'm still recovering from injuries and I also have a TF RS300 in the bag waiting to be tested lol. And I'll have to fight the urge to go back to my Extreme Tour or Blade Pros before testing these RS300 and 100Xs. Will report back.

My pair of 100X 305 are en route. Used TW's matching service, info with plastic on the handle is as follows and I'm hoping no customization is needed with this SW :) #1: W:308.30g Bal:30.7cm (11pts HL) SW:293 #2: W:308.97g Bal:30.7cm (11pts HL) SW:293

Would imagine they are very different. Phantoms are thin beam and flexy. I have some 100X coming my way, and will do my best to try and remember what the TT310 felt like to compare.

    Prince textreme pro 100 (310)

I owned one and sold it because I thought there was nothing special about it. But now I deeply regret it because it was actually really good at everything, it just wasn't spectacular at anything... And I now value that. Honestly the one thing I didn't enjoy was the feel... it feels stiff I...
