    Do away with it!

H2H between the Big 3 in Grand Slams

/ The FO has been a slam/major since 1925. Clay has been a major court surface long before that, therefore, FO wins are official slams. Deal with it!

Djokovic will not play the Laver Cup this year

Good for him, Laver Cup is a Joke!

Is Djokovic an ATG on clay?

Perhaps not an ATG, but at least very close. Has won 4 Rome titles, 3 Madrid and 2 MC, beating Nadal a few times overall which is very impressive.

Is Thiem doomed to be this generation’s Roddick?

I hope you are right, but I doubt it because I do not think Thiem today is mentally tough enough to win a slam. Time will tell.

Is Thiem doomed to be this generation’s Roddick?

Did Roddick ever reach the semi's of the FO? To be a clay court specialist with Nadal around is unfortunate. Roddick had the advantage over Thiem in that he was a better hard or grass player than Thiem, which would explain why he had reached more slam semi's and finals than Thiem.

Is Djokovic an ATG on grass?

From what I have seen and read, grass court tennis is very different from what it was till the late nineties, which is why players like Nadal, Novak and Murray were able to win multiple Wimbledons. Federer, due to his great volleying skills would have fared well on grass as it was before 2000...

"Why the French Open is the Worst Grand Slam"

    EXCELLENT POST, FAIR AND ACCURATE!

Nadal that great opponents have to be compared to him without clay

Why hasn't Federer, Novak, Thiem, Murray or Stan won the FO more than once, or not at all?

"Why the French Open is the Worst Grand Slam"

Perhaps the lousy weather had something to do with the empty seats, which probably had been sold before the tournament began?

"Why the French Open is the Worst Grand Slam"

Clay and grass were THE major surfaces long before anyone played slams on hard courts. That IS a fact!

Nadal that great opponents have to be compared to him without clay

Just out of curiosity, what ATG clay court players did Borg beat to win his FO titles? Lendl perhaps, but Ivan was a young non slam winner when Borg beat him in 5 sets in their FO final. Vilas was a clay court specialist but hardly in the same league with Borg, Nadal, Rosewall, Laver, Lacoste or...

Thiem: I hope to win French Open without having to face Rafael Nadal

Great players like Federer and Novak only have one RG title because of Rafa. If not for him they would have 2 or 3 at least.

Thiem: I hope to win French Open without having to face Rafael Nadal

GOAT on clay, for sure. I doubt any player would be thrilled to have to play peak Federer on grass or fast hard courts.

Who possess more raw talent at their peak Safin or Kyrgios?

In 05 Novak was no where near his best, being a 18 or 19 year old kid when he first lost to Safin. He was closer in 08, but still not at his peak. The two times Nick beat Novak he was nearly flawless, especially his serving. IF Nick could play like that more often, he could win slams.

As an old school tennis fan who loved Sampras, Becker, Edberg, Lendl, Federer etc tsitsipas is the man for me!

Dimitriov, for sure! Shapo is still young, so hopefully, he will get a good coach and will listen and learn.

Who possess more raw talent at their peak Safin or Kyrgios?

Compared to Kyrgios, Safin was a Boy Scout, with far more talent.

Nadal needed to play 56 slams to get #18, Federer 69 slams

Nadal also benefited from a weaker draw and unfair scheduling in Rome. Nadal had an easy match Saturday afternoon, Novak had a tough match that started at 8PM. Novak has many more weeks at #1, 5 YE titles Rafa has-0, Novak has 1 more YE at #1, has 4 Wimbledon titles, Nadal has 2, Novak has 7...

Nadal is ahead of Federer in Slams adjusted by difficulty

Unfortunately, however, Clay is a long established tennis court surface and the FO SLAM is played on clay. Like it or not, Nadal is credited with 18 slams by the ATP or ITF.

Laver Cup Included in Official H2H Stats on ATP

Because it makes no sense and is basically a 2 day exhibition, and is an insult to the historical Davis Cup. Unfortunately some unworthy players, like the Idiot Kyrigos make a lot of money for just showing up, and now they even get ranking points? Totally absurd, IMHO!

Nadal needed to play 56 slams to get #18, Federer 69 slams

Borg lacks longevity, which is a serious hole in his legacy. Also, he never won a hard court slam. He retired early because he did not have the confidence he could compete with McEnroe, or was physically and mentally burnt out. The game was passing him by and he did not have the desire to...

Boris Becker: We should question the quality and attitude everybody under 28

Great wins by those younger guys, but they were not slam wins. NO player wins ALL the time.

Boris Becker: We should question the quality and attitude everybody under 28

I Agree that Stefanos seems to have the game to be a slam winner. The more I see him the more I like his game.

Boris Becker: We should question the quality and attitude everybody under 28

I mostly agree with Boris, but it does seem that Roger, Rafa and Novak are exceptional athletes, physically and mentally.

Nadal to Thiem: "If I wanted to lose to someone it would be you..."

Agree with both Rafa and you. That was a very nice and sporting statement by Rafa. I was rooting for Novak over Thiem, but if he had to lose to anyone, I would rather it be Thiem who seems to be a truly nice guy and sportsman.

Isn't who was more successful at the most Big Tournaments the best measure of a player's greatness? Not total or head to head?

Actually, Court beat Bueno twice at the AO. In 60 she beat Bueno, the #1 ranked player in the quarters, The next time in the finals a few years later. Court be King in a semi one year and a final in 69. She lost to king in the 68 final, having just come back from a year off the tour in 67. Court...

Isn't who was more successful at the most Big Tournaments the best measure of a player's greatness? Not total or head to head?

Everyone struggled with young Evert, especially on clay. Court was the ONLY player in 73 capable of beating Evert in that FO final. True, Chris was young but Court was a 31 year old mother. From about 74 on, till Navratilova reached her peak, Evert had very weak competition. Evert and Court...
