I've got about 1.5 inches on either side of the string bed at 10 and 2 going from the 6th cross string up to about the 3rd cross string from the top.

What's the total static weight now with all your modifications (leather grip, lead, OG)? By the way, tried some lead at 10 and 2 (on my 310 version) and really noticed a difference (positive) in stability and plow-through. Only used about 1.5 grams and still felt a pretty substantial...

    Yonex Vcore Pro 97

Good stuff. Seems like folks on this thread are all over the place in terms of leading the 310 up, from none at all (quite a few in this boat), to lead at 12, 3 and 9 and handle. Obviously, owner preferences at play here but curious what your experience has been. Just received my new 310...

Curious, what strings/tension are you using with the gut/poly?

    Yonex Vcore Pro 97

Good call. Will keep the WCSS around but may try out some RSL as well. From what you guys have experienced, sounds like a nice string, full bed or in a hybrid. Any thoughts on tension? Dropping from a 100 to 97 with 8 mains, might go a little lower than my usual 55/52?

    Yonex Vcore Pro 97

Been using a gut/poly hybrid with gut in the mains and WCSS in the crosses, primarily in my Angell TC100. Fairly happy with the comfort and feel, but sometimes too much power with the gut and the somewhat higher trajectory of the TC100. The VCP 97 helps address my desire for a more...

    Yonex Vcore Pro 97

Just demo'd this racquet and in a weird way, glad to hear there are better strings out there for this than Velocity as the demo was strung with it and while I didn't really care for the string that much, absolutely fell in love with this racquet. Just checked all the boxes: superb feel, the...

I have demos of both arriving hopefully tomorrow. Curious what your pros/cons were of the 100 compared to the 97.

    Diary of a Racketaholic

As always, on the money PP; thanks for the input and just what I needed to hear. I used to play with the Xi98 and quite enjoyed that racquet; not quite sure why I sold it. More or less jumped on the Angell bandwagon and have been playing with the TC100 for a while now. Like the stick but...

    Diary of a Racketaholic

Submitted this in the VCP thread as well, but appreciate the input from the folks here as well in case you don't look at the VCP thread much. This racquet sounds right in my wheelhouse on specs except that it's a bit smaller head size (though not much, really, right?) from my current TC 100...

    Yonex Vcore Pro 97

This racquet sounds right in my wheelhouse on specs except that it's a bit smaller head size (though not much, really, right?) from my current TC 100. Thoughts on this? Does the VCP 97 play "bigger" than its spec? I know there's a VCP 100 and the common thinking is that 100's provide a little...

Questions about Polarized & Depolarized set-ups

Question: how long are your strips and I assume centered exactly at 3/9? Also, are you putting strips on each side of the stringbed at 3 and same at 9? Or just one strip at 3, one at 9, on opposite sides of the stringbed? I've seen both (TW's video on using lead at 3/9 suggests the latter).

Is the head shape of the ASL3 similar or different than the TC100? Any thoughts yet on serve comparison between the two?

For those who have played the 100 at both the 63 and 70 RA, and all things being relatively equal (weight, balance, etc.), does the 70RA appear to have a lower launch angle than the 63? Any other obvious pros/cons?

Interesting stuff. Which version (V2 or V3) are you playing with? Been thinking about tinkering with the weights in my V3100 as well for some of the same reasons you note. Are you using any lead as well?

On most of his models, Paul offers 27.25 and 27.5. Anyone use one of these racquets at 27.25? Seems like it would offer so little in terms of noticeable characteristics from that of a standard 27-inch racquet compared to what a 27.5-inch racquet would play like. Thoughts?

Angell V3 TC100 is my perfect racket. What's yours?

Can't speak for the 70RA but I have the 63RA V3TC100 and find that it has plenty of power, especially on serves and groundies.

Now you're taking some serious strolls down memory lane! I recall that you and I both dabbled with the London for a while. The string patterns in both those frames were indeed sublime. Agree, though, loving me the foam-core and stability of these Angells.

Any thoughts on weight tweaks to the TC100 that have worked ('unlocked the magic") for folks? Topspin? Recently purchased a V3 version and loving it so far and am thinking about playing around with small amounts of weight to see if there's even more hidden traits to be found. Stupid question...

But, ultimately, sounds like the thicker guage in the 100 still wasn't enough to thwart the lure of an 18x20 string bed in a smaller frame for you (though you obviously still offer praises for the 100). I echo the sentiments of others in this forum: sure would be great to see an 18x20 (or even...

So, to address Topspin's move from the open TC100 to a closed TC95, wouldn't a thicker guage in the TC100 help offset the higher launch angle that he and others mention? I just recently acquired the V3 version of the 100 and loving it so far. But have generally been using 16x20 frames or (most...
