who else is secretly pining for a NK/Djokovic matchup at Wimbledon?!?

Nope, I want the Nadal Kyrgios match. Nadal has been getting joke draws for way too long. Djokovic at least earns most of his slams. Nadal getting exposed by another big server would further solidify his one dimensional play and may shut people up for awhile.

    2019 Queen's - Men's Singles Discussion Thread

Come on man that was a push fest. Grass court tennis should not be played like that. You can’t possibly tell me you find that entertaining.

    2019 Fever-Tree Championships SF - [8] Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. [WC] Feliciano Lopez

Great win for Lopez. To win Queens at his age is awesome. He’s 4-0 against Simin in grass.

    Biggest waste of talent?

Have to go with Nalbandian. His backhand, shotmaking and tennis IQ are off the charts. If he put 100 percent into fitness he’s winning multiple slams no doubt.

2019 Halle Open QF: Roger Federer (1) vs Roberto Bautista Agut

Batista Agut did a pretty good job teeing off on the Fed slice. They seemed to be floating a little too much. I hope Fed can lift his game for Wimbledon.

2019 Halle Open QF: Roger Federer (1) vs Roberto Bautista Agut

Batista Agut won’t bother Federer on grass. He’s got no serve and power. The only guys you have to watch out for are big servers with big forehands. That’s why it’s so tough to win Wimbledon as compared to other slams because a lot of modern players have those attributes. You’re much more...

Why does Nadal struggle so much with journeymen on grass?

Yes but the last one was almost a decade ago and he’s only 33 years old now. Since then he’s lost to a lot of guys many would classify as journeymen. Brown x 2, Darcis, Rosol and Muller.

    2019 NOVENTI OPEN | Halle, Germany | ATP 500 - Discussion Thread

Tsonga in the second round is a dangerous match. I could see an upset there. Tsonga just barely lost to Raonic in a third set tie break.

    Dustin Brown beats Sascha Zverev

Brown will demolish Rafa if he draws him. Let’s hope it happens. That was a beautiful display today of drop volleys and half volleys.

    Major surface speeds

The US Open is hands down the worst in terms of court speed. In the mid 2000’s it was actually pretty fast but somewhere along the line they turned it into a moonballers paradise. If you rematch the Fed Agassi 05 final the court was very quick with winners flying everywhere.

Federer is unique in that his on court game and image aligns perfectly with luxury brands.

Why does Nadal struggle so much with journeymen on grass?

Why is it that guys like Brown, Muller, Rosol, Kyrgios and Darcis have all smoked Nadal multiple times on grass while Nadal was in the peak of his career in his 20’s? What is it about his game that suffers so much on grass? Is he incapable of anticipating serves within 5ft of the baseline? The...

2019 Roland Garros FINAL: Rafael Nadal vs Dominic Thiem

The younger generation is terrible. Every sport should have new upcoming all time greats. Hockey, baseball, football, basketball etc. always have upcoming all time greats. Tennis Has a huge void right now due to the decreasing popularity. It’s decline is in line with heavyweight boxing which is...

Raonic is also dangerous if he is healthy. This surface rewards big servers and power tennis. It’s not a pushers surface.

Peak Federer vs. Current Nadal on Clay

Fed would tear him apart. He should of beat him in 2011.
  16. R

Bottom line, Novak came up small

Don’t like Djokovic’s play style but in today’s slow homogenized surfaces he is the best in the world. He laid an absolute beating on Nadal in Australia. He is a far more well rounded player than Nadal who dominates a niche surface.

2019 Roland Garros FINAL: Rafael Nadal vs Dominic Thiem

The problem with Thiem is that he can’t take the Nadal forehand on the rise like Djokovic can. Thiem always has to back up big time to hit the backhand and Nadal makes him pay for it. Djokovic is the one guy who can trouble Nadal on clay because he can consistently take the Nadal forehand on the...

Roger's NEO backhand and it's impact in the SF

I believe it’s a closer match without the wind but yes Nadal still wins. Wind is always going to hinder the precision aggressive player more vs. the retriever. Federer needs to be able to win free points from his serve and be able to one two punch, he couldn’t do that with this wind.
  19. R

Roger's NEO backhand and it's impact in the SF

I disagree. The wind took Federer's serve out of the match. Federer absolutely needs his serve at his age. Even though it’s clay he would be getting more free points from it.

    I want Kyrgios vs. Nadal.

Roger's NEO backhand and it's impact in the SF

The conditions were brutal and the court itself is not condusive to hitting winners. If this matchup happens in Cincinatti this year or in Asia for the indoor swing Federer will be able to rip winners on that wing.

    Federer can win Wimbledon

He’s skipping Stuttgart so he should be fresh. It will come down to whether his ground game holds up. If he is hitting well he’s second favorite behind only Djokovic. I hope Nadal gets Kyrgios, Raonic or a few others big servers to really test him. I think Kyrgios would smoke him.

    Federer can win Wimbledon

The Australian has been the best major for years now. The atmosphere is awesome, the weather is great and the surface has been sped up to perfection. The night matches are also great. The US Open has butchered their courts and that major has been a joke for years now. Wimbledon and the...

2019 Roland Garros Semifinal: Nadal (2) vs Federer (3)

Based on what I’ve seen today I’ll still take Fed to win on grass and hard court. This surface is garbage.

2019 Roland Garros Semifinal: Nadal (2) vs Federer (3)

It will be way harder for Fed to take the ball on the rise on his backhand wing on this court. Nadal’s old strategy of spinning high to the backhand should still work fine on clay. It’s a ******** strategy that’s only possible because of poly but it’s effective.

    Nadal’s Gamesmanship with Out

It’s not an incorrect challenge. It’s knowingly pointing to the wrong ball mark to try to persuade the umpire to overrule the ball being called in initially.
