The Greatest Tennis Players according to Titles: The Bahle Index

It just seems odd to value 250 title more than reaching GS final.

Novak is the most admirable athlete in the world today

Although his firm stance on vaccination is based on BS pseudoscience and stupid reasons, it's also a sign of moral integrity and deep sense of individual freedom. It's pretty hard to admire his personality because of his generally weak hippie reasoning, but OTOH - he has so much other positive...

Federer fans, if Djokovic or Nadal surpass Federer’s slam count, will accept them as GOAT?

Slam peak performance is one way to measure your level of play (as GS tournament dominance), but not your peak dominance level.

Federer fans, if Djokovic or Nadal surpass Federer’s slam count, will accept them as GOAT?

That's not tennis domination, but GS tournament domination, only two weeks out of whole season, only 7 matches out of 70+ matches. If you want to to measure domination, you need to examine at least 1-year timeframe, atp points gained, elo points, titles won and finals reached.

Federer fans, if Djokovic or Nadal surpass Federer’s slam count, will accept them as GOAT?

Fed was never able to hold all GS titles at once, his peak is 1 Tier lower than Budge, Laver and Djokovic.

Federer fans, if Djokovic or Nadal surpass Federer’s slam count, will accept them as GOAT?

There's no way Federer will ever catch Nole, he's way behind, like 1 Tier under. ;)

The Tyranny of Metrics – a Defence of Federer

I've never seen this amount of copium in one single post. Bravo! :)

Higher peak level Djokovic or Agassi?

Well, Novak is B.O.A.T. since his 2015/2016 dominance run, so his peak is higher than anyone's in tennis history.

now it's official, Federer is the third wheel

No. Fed is backwheel on tricycle, together with Rafa.

Slams by pace index, who is really the most versatile player?

Nadal GOAT of RG. The other two, GOATs of non-RG. Tie break to Nadal because he’s better on non-RG surface than the other two on RG surface. With the addition that the calendar provides more non-RG tennis than RG tennis.

    Federer is the grass GOAT

Fed is grass GOAT, and Novak can never take that from him. Fed is Wimbledon GOAT, even if Novak gets 8th title.

    Nadal is Finnish!!!

I guess Rafa is not so much of a clay player himself, since his success at MC, Madrid and Rome means nothing? ;)

Is Djokovic a Bigger favourite against Nadal this time than 2015?

Since 2009, no tennis player can beat Nadal at RG, except Djokovic.
  16. itrium84

    Nadal is Finnish!!!

Beside that fluke 13 years ago, Novak Djokovic is the only guy that can beat Nadal at RG. This is understandable, because Novak is top3 clay ATG.

    Ndl.

    God of RG

If Nadal - Tsitsipas was tough, what about Nadal - Alcaraz - Tsitsipas?

Alcaraz is not getting through all the way to semis.

Alcaraz will not reach SF at RG2022

I find it hard to believe his clay/RG game will rise to peak Nadal level, not losing sets on the way to SF/F. His turbo-strong play is perfect for 2 or (barely) 3 sets, not more. Musseti was not hyped at RG2021, but his game level was really really high for such a young player.

Alcaraz will not reach SF at RG2022

That seems too Farfetched for me. Alcaraz learns quickly, adapts quickly. I can see him winning GS title before RG2023.

Nadal on hardcourt vs Djokovic on clay

This thread ain't about the GS tournaments results comparison, but overall surface comparison. They did play other tournaments.
  22. itrium84

Alcaraz will not reach SF at RG2022

His only chance to reach SF/F is a Nadal-like god-level tennis without losing a set before SF. Not gonna happen, it's hard to out-Rafa the Rafa.
  23. itrium84

Alcaraz will not reach SF at RG2022

Yeah, he's hot right now, and he deserves all the attention with his great clay results, but - he's not ready enough to win few 4 and 5-setters in a row, not experienced enough to overcome troubles of GS tournament format. I expect last year RG Musseti game level and results from Alcaraz this year.
